Chef Andrew and owner knocked it out of the park tonight. Spouses shrimp special with mushrooms and spinach over pasta. Bread licking good . Lamb chops 3 of them were good. Cooked perfectly Yukon mashed and vegetables also very good. Starter, no pictures, we ate them before pictures were excellent. Shared a wedge salad and small clams casino . Service by Todd was very good. Worth a drive and highly recommended.

The menu is a mix of a chophouse with a large selection of chef selections from paella, pasta and schnitzel. The chef is a CIA graduate which is surprising to find in Central NY. The food was fresh and i noted that the chef makes his own bread, dressing, aioli's and desserts. It's clear the chef puts care into his work. We ordered - house salad - solid salad with house dressing. nice, nothing crazy - onion soup, this was excellent. really well done, from the croutons, cheese and flavor. wow - calamari - the only thing we didnt love - chicken schnitzle - excellent, authentic - scallops - fresh, perfectly cooked. a bit too sauced, but great - creamy garlic and spinach pasta - our kids didnt love, but decent The desserts were great as well. The restaurant was very accommodating to our casual attire and 3 young kids. Amazingly kind. The entire experience is a bit like going back in time, the historic nature of the setting is hard to explain, but you really feel it.

Visiting from CT for a family memorial service early this morning and after being on the road for…read morehours and truly exhausted, was greeted by the friendliest of smiles by Amanda at the Front desk and then then pointed me to the restaurant. Upon entering The Tavern Inn, Shannon immediately offered a nice hot cup of coffee (which I soo needed). My husband and I came back for lunch and we were greeted by my morning g friend, Shannon, and Glenda at the bar, and we had the burger and fries which was so Juicy, tasty and awesome! We went back to the restaurant for dinner, and I personally requested Shannon as our waitress/server. Her smile is infectious and she helped me reclaim my favorite umbrella that I left behind earlier! For dinner, we ordered the Bavarian pretzel sticks as an appetizer (so yummy), and I had the cod special which was delicious and my husband had the mushroom cavatappi. Great recommendations for dinner....! This place is a gem! The staff is amazing, the food is awesome and reasonably priced, great ambiance, and the service matches the best of any 5 star restaurant. Will be back again when visiting family for sure. Highly recommended!! Marie C. Stratford, CT

Had a frustrating experience with the restaurant staff. Arrived around 6:40 for dinner and asked…read morefor a table by the windows. The hostess told us that all five empty tables were reserved for a large group, then put us at a two-seater next to the kitchen door. We expected the tables to fill up at 7:00 but only one did. By 7:40, when we were paying the check, three of the tables were occupied. Obviously there was never a large group reservation, or even individual reservations. Asked to speak with the restaurant manager, and explained the situation. She admitted right away that the hostess probably did it for server convenience and not reservations. And she DID NOT CARE. She said I should have told her right away, and then she could have put us at a window table. Ummm...why would I initially think the hostess was lying to us about the tables being reserved? It wasn't until 7:30 rolled around that we knew for sure. This is not the way a seating request, or a customer complaint, should be handled. (8/20/2026)
