    Big Al's Pizza

Was craving a Big Al's steak and cheese so I made the ride. Also decided to try the chicken tenders, I had seen a picture and they looked delicious. The steak and cheese is perfection. The tenders are cutlets, huge and cooked perfect. The breading is flavorful and the chicken was so thin and moist. Only negative is they may be too salty. Sauces come on the side, so the chicken stays crispy, which I love. I ate half the steak and cheese and half of 1 tender and I am stuffed. I want to try other sandwich's on the menu, but how can you not order the steak and cheese. Need to get a group and order a bunch to split. Keep it Up Big Al's.

    Slice of the Angry Roni

Small, mostly-take-out joint on a mostly residential road, with inventive pizzas by a chef of some renown (Tim Maslow, formerly of Strip T's in Watertown). Two booths. Cash only. No heat. -- Angry Roni Pizza: Made with vodka sauce, pepperoni, jalapeño slices and garlic, with the option of hot honey for an extra buck. I went for it and had no regrets. The crust is thin and well charred; not too much flavor in the crust beyond the char, but it's crisp, stays out of the way, and lets the toppings do their thing. Flavorful sauce and understated cheese. The pepperoni is strong (cupped both upward and downward), the jalapeños have a bite, and the hot honey balances everything out, adding some sweetness without dominating. You gotta like char to like this pizza. I do and I did. -- Onion Supreme Pizza: A mostly-finely-chopped, entirely-densely packed combo of bacon, fresh onion, and caramelized onion, yielding a sweet and savory addition to the basic cheese and tomato. I'm not gonna lie: I loved the flavors of this addition combo, but I didn't love how it obscured the cheese and tomato. Overall a good pie, but more of a novelty than something that's gonna scratch that pizza itch. For the record, the crust was less charred and right in the money. -- Steak and Cheese Sub: THIS is tremendous. So silky, so beefy, with the cheese at first glance looking like mere lubricant, but tons of sharp flavor in the Cooper sharp. Homemade seeded roll hugged everything. Gotta make sure to open and hold it seeded side down, because it's a canoe shape, not a top and bottom. So good. I've already had it twice and I'm pretty sure I'll be ordering this more than the pizza, for both flavor and logistics. -- Chicken Tenders: Four very cutlet-like pieces, about the size of a hand. Lightly seasoned, crisp, warm, and thick enough to still be juicy inside. Served with choice of dipping sauce, but these has some nice flavor already. -- Chocolate Chip Cookie: Great in every regard-- thick, soft, chewy, crispy, tasty dough, buttery, not too sugary, good chocolate-- except the densely piled big crystal salt in the center. I know that's "in," and I do like salt on my cookies a bit, but a BIT. This had too much. I'll still get it again though. Great addition to the area. Friendly service. Tough call between four and five stars. It's really close.

    Cheesesteak mushrooms, onions, peppers

Phoned in Order just after 1:00. Was told about 20 minutes and 2 cheesesteaks were ready fairly close to that time. Friendly staff. Got mushrooms, onions, peppers in mine. Sesame bread was tops! Low oil/grease, which was great! Unlike other places that drip oil... very tasty sub! Recommend trying these.

Steak n Cheese is elite, often enough for 2 people. Pizza is good, though the sauce is touch too salty. Worth a visit without question.

Pizza was over cooked and wasn't very flavorful. The owners were very nice and the place was clean.

Special place! Amazing food. Steak and cheese is different here. Would definitely recommend the pizza.

The outdoor igloo seating seemed like a risky choice (it's only outdoor seating or take out here) but we went for it anyway. You're seated in your own igloo, it was about a 40 degree night and we stayed comfortable keeping our light jackets on. We enjoyed our time and our food eating-in, that we will order from this market again in the future. We both ordered the spicy mango margarita, which tasted very good. I don't think the drinks are made fresh? Can't confirm, but I believe I saw something premixed poured into the glass I was served. We ordered the charred veggie hummus and it was some of the best hummus I've ever tasted. If they're not actually making that stuff fresh they had me fooled, so I will guess that they are. The pita was warm, fresh, and fluffy. We each got one of the bowl entrees -- the steak and a salmon bowl -- the portions were generous and the fresh, veggie forward entree was exactly what was needed for an out-of-town stop (you can only eat so much bar food out here). Overall, I've read the bad reviews and can totally see how this place would be a gamble depending on what you order. But from my experience I had no truly bad remarks, and I would definitely return.

I'm sorry, but I really don't understand all the great reviews. I'm not one of those people who…read morelikes giving bad reviews. I always try to give credit where credit is due, but this place REALLY rubbed me the wrong way. I ordered a classic burger and the truffle tots and was completely shocked at how bad it was. The patty was dense and bland and had scalloped edges!!! Wtf. Clearly bought from a food service company. And worse, it was completely over cooked. I could have overlooked the industrial patty had the flavor and the burger fixings been good, but unfortunately not. No lettuce, no tomatoes, just a couple of pickles and a sloppy amount of chipotle aioli. I don't think that's a "classic" burger in most people's book. The aioli had SO much chipotle powder in it that it overpowered the entire burger with bitterness. I find a shitty burger to be an unforgivable restaurant sin given how little effort they are to make properly. It's lazy and inexcusable. The tots (which I'll give you, are a slightly more acceptable item to be out of a bag) were so drenched in truffle oil that they were greasy and overpowered by artificial truffle flavor. I also got a piece of cake. How bad does cake have to be for you to toss it after one bite? Pretty stinking bad... it had a weird chemical taste. I feel disrespected as a diner that this market eatery thinks people don't taste the difference between industrial food company food and the real, freshly made thing.

This casual…read morepizzeria offers a variety of traditional and specialty pizzas (12" & 16") - similar to Pini's, pizza calzones, grinders, wraps, pasta, salads, teriyaki bowls, dinners (steak tips, chicken, fried seafood), appetizers, bagged chips, and cold drinks. The place offers order at the pickup counter, online ordering, third party delivery and there are a few hard booths for eating in. I ordered the Danny's Supreme 12" Pizza ($16.99 plus tax) for takeout at the counter, which was ready in about 12 minutes after ordering. The thin crust Italian style pizza was topped with peppers, onions, mushrooms, olives, hamburg bits, sliced sausage, red sauce and browned melted cheese. There were plenty of toppings in each bite with a thin firm crust, crisp and slightly chewy on the edge. This place was very busy when I was here and my order was ready fairly quickly. I would stop by again for takeout if I'm in the area. I will note that the printed menu prices need to be updated with the store online pricing, which is slightly higher on some items. The third party delivery app prices are at least 15-20 percent higher than the in-store and store online ordering system pricing.

Solid for a suburban pizza joint. Very impressed with the speed- we ordered delivery on a Thursday…read moreevening and it arrived in 35 minutes flat. An item by item review: GARLIC KNOTS: at the nexus of crispy and chewy, very garlicky, would definitely get again. BUFFALO MOZZARELLA STICKS: ...they're mozzarella sticks bathed liberally in buffalo sauce. I'll give them points for thinking outside the box, and it definitely doesn't NOT work, but the sauce killed any crispiness the sticks might have had. An interesting experiment, but doesn't need a repeat. ROASTED RED PEPPERONI PIZZA- another reviewer noted that Danny's is in the old Pini's location, and I could definitely pick up the Pini's DNA; the RRP pizza was one of my standbys for many orders from the Somerville Pini's, many many MANY moons ago. As to the quality: it's a pretty dang good crust, on the scale of suburban New England pizza crusts, with good chew, some crispiness, and a nice flavor. My wife is extra particular about her crust and she ranked it above Sal's, our previous pizza crust benchmark. THAT SAID: Danny, dude... dial it back a bit on the cheese, okay? This thing was unnecessarily greasy, and it detracted somewhat from what was otherwise a pretty good pizza experience. I anticipate pretty soggy leftovers, which, I mean, I'll eat, but... a little less cheese and grease could take this pie to another level. BUFFALO CHICKEN SALAD- I didn't have any but my wife said it was good, with crispy tenders and fresh veggies. STEAK OF THE GODS SUB- despite the promising name, this was the weak point of the order, more like a steak for a minor demigod or perhaps an archangel or other divine servant. Thoughtfully packed and not too greasy/soggy, a common problem with delivery steak subs, but woefully underseasoned. Salt-N-Pepa are more than just a 90s hip hop group, they're a quick service cook's best friends. Learn to love 'em, Danny! Overall, it was a solid effort, and we'll definitely check out some of the rest of their menu in the future.
