I ate hear twice during my stay. I ordered a roast beef sandwich for dinner one evening and a breakfast sandwich another morning. I have to say between the two the breakfast sandwich was awesome! Yes, the other Yelpers are correct on the rudeness of staff. I would say not really rude, just not very customer service oriented. Not sure, but I believe it was the owner in the morning who was actually very friendly. They do have some basic supplies if you forgot something in your travels as well. Just ok. We ordered a salmon wrap for $18 thinking that it was chunks of smoked salmon rather than lox. (That may be a regional difference and my lack of knowledge). Nonetheless. It was supposed to have a bit of red onions but they were yellow and I tasted it for hours after. I would have appreciated knowing about the substitution because I would have had them hold them. Well, it pains me to do this but here it is, the dreaded one-star review... I stopped into Delizioso after a morning walk to grab a quick bite, and the first thing that struck me about this place was just how unkempt and sloppy everything looked in the grocery area before approaching the ordering counter. That was the first red flag. I requested a toasted 'everything bagel' with smoked salmon, capers & red onion. The person I was with ordered the same on an English muffin. The total came to $32, which is unheard for any deli I've ever been to. They said they would bring it out to us when it was ready. Now, here comes the second red flag. The only table that was in the shade was absolutely covered in bird excrement. It was even dripping off the chairs. I tried my best to sit in a position that best avoided this but it wasn't easy. I could feel my appetite diminishing with every second that I was staring at this mess while waiting for my order. After a long while, no food was brought out, instead it was discovered that it had just been sitting in a paper bag on the counter for who knows how long, waiting to be picked up. I took about two bites of my bagel before discovering a two-inch long black and grey hair woven into the bagel that felt like it was struggling to squirm its way to the surface and take on a life of its own. It made me so nauseous I decided to chuck the rest. The person I was with also discarded her bagel and we walked back in pure disgust looking forward to the moment we could brush our teeth and mouthwash the taste out. After a long walk back to our condo, I looked in the mirror and saw a poppy seed stuck in my front two teeth taunting me like a playground bully; an unpleasant reminder of one of the most revolting experiences I've had in recent times. Impressed us an understatement! I reached out for a custom cake for my husbands birthday/gender reveal for our trip and it turned out perfect. Ronny was quick to respond and made a beautiful cake. We stopped in for sandwiches as well and everyone there is so friendly. Great place! read more

We needed hairspray in the village and spent $7 for a travel size hairspray- which was fine. We knew we would pay a lot. The problem is the sprayer didn't work. So I went back to exchange and the same thing happened. No problem, just give me a refund. There response was they can't because the purchase was from the day before. I guess if you need money... keep it. But not really the business model I choose to support. read more

They are so slow !!! It took 25 minutes to get a toasted bagel and cream cheese!! Was ridiculous!! I asked them 3 times what was taking so long and they kept blowing me off. I've never seen anything like it. There was only one other customer, so it's not like they were 'busy'. The bagel was terrible, and the cream cheese was so bad my kid ended up throwing up. I have been coming here for years. When they get the order correct, it is a good quality. However many times orders are wrong. I ordered two breakfast sandwiches this morning, both had missing items. I walked back the three blocks and they begrudgingly remade them. When I got back to my room, it was wrong again so I had to go back a third time. The attitude was not one of wanting to help and I could see the eye rolling and body language of those in the back today which was disrespectful. read more

Walked in today and bought an Americano and Panini (Mozz, Tomato, shrooms, and arugula). I would say I had moderate expectations going in. Yikes..... Coffee was one of the worst cups I had the displeasure of consuming recently. But..... the panini and the sadness I felt while trying to eat that might've been the star of the show. I ordered a panini so I could enjoy a toasty sandwich on the go. What I got was crappy ingredients between two warm pieces of ciabatta. It wasn't pressed and I lost many ingredients on the first pickup. Now anybody who has ever made a sandwich knows that this is already a pretty low tier sandwich. I thought we all agreed a panini was pressed?? Go look up a photo of a panini and this sandwich looked absolutely nothing like that. For the folks at DeliZioso, just make sure you know how the food tastes before you pass it off to customers. Sandwich needed salt (especially the mozz) and it fell apart as I was trying to eat it. Bread wasn't even toasted, I want some grill lines on my freaking panini come on guys. Also add some pesto or something the fact that there is no basil is sad :( read more

Contrary to other reviews. This is in the middle of vail. I got a fresh made chick panini for $8. That's not overpriced. Staff was friendly and panini tasty. I guess if you are not a vail snob you'll enjoy the place. :) I'll def visit again next time in town. read more

I was in the restaurant this morning an a Hispanic woman - who said she was a manager was extremely rude to me and my family all over requesting milk for the cereal which we purchased 8n the store for our children. We have eaten breakfast several days in a row and the other male employees were very friendly. We had a party of 8 and spent in excess of $100 and we're treated horrible by the "alleged" manager Will NOT RETURN AGAIN. I do not know if she does not understand English but treating customers bad is NEVER good for a business. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I ordered a chocolate gelato and it was absolutely terrible (not even edible). I didn't want to complain about the gelato so I just tossed it and waited on the latte I had ordered. When I received my latte it tasted like hot milk, there wasn't any espresso taste in the latte. At that point after being disappointed twice, I went back in and asked if my latte had any espresso in it, they said there was only one shot (which is fine) but I couldn't taste it at all. The male worker then came up and very rudely said "what was wrong with your coffee." He then said he would add another shot and I asked if I could just have a hot chocolate instead, his response was "are you going to pay the difference" ummmm really? It's hot chocolate! This is one of the most frustrating places I've ever eaten at in Vail. The food is really good when actually made right, but the service is so beyond terrible I'm constantly left torn on whether to go back. The Hispanic gentleman with glasses, and the young Hispanic gal with really long hair, both have to be the rudest people i have ever encountered in customer service. Every single time I go here and he or she is working, I immediately turn around and walk out and get food from somewhere else. That's how sick of dealing with both of their unnecessary attitudes I am. Every time a friend of mine, my boyfriend, or anyone else I know goes here, they say the exact same thing. We're all really tired of paying $16+ for a sandwich to be treated like garbage by the staff while you're waiting. Really is a shame, because this is one of the only "quick" and healthy cafe style type places in the village area. Its near my office so I want it to be good, buuuuuut my bagel was stale, half of it was toasted and half wasn't, the cream cheese was just put on in a few chunks and not spread evenly. This is a deli in the middle of Vail Village. Excellent location and cute and well stocked inside. My sandwich was pretty decent (Black Forest ham on a Ciabatta roll). I only give this place two stars due to the terrible and rude service. The two stars are because the food was decent. I would equate the person who rung me up (male of unknown country origin) to the "Soup Nazi" from Seinfeld. There was no issue of not being able to communicate. His English was perfect. He was just a rude person. The man who made my sandwich was a bit courteous but service was not his strong suit. We come to Vail on vacation every year. I went to this same deli last year and was hesitant to return due the same rude service I had received but decided to give them another shot. Totally different help this time....same result. My experience seems to mirror other reviews of this place. I decided to post a review as I was very dissatisfied with the service this place gives people, who pay good money for their products. The owners should hire better help and also be concerned about the horrible reviews. I imagine anyone who reads mine or other review might be reluctant to come to this place. We give this Deli one star for its products, food quality and convenient location, however their service is appalling and unacceptable. There are two women and one man serving at any one time who are sullen, unhelpful and seemingly deliberately slow. They are lucky to be one out of a very few Delis in vail village which is why, in my view customers still support them. Helpful, courteous and efficient staff are an invaluable asset to any business and this Deli falls far short of even the most basic of standards. Needless to say, we have made alternative plans and have advised our friends and future tenants to do the same. read more
