We had planned to have our experience on Wednesday but got a call on Monday that our experience would need to be rescheduled due to unexpected mandatory training. They were extremely accommodating since we had planned to come out from Washington to CA literally just for this experience. They were able to work with us and rescheduled us a private tour on Tuesday after our flight got in. Conner was an absolute delight. His comedic timing, and historic knowledge of the big bear area was so awesome. We took the gold mountain trail, and Conner met us at our own experience level. His ability to navigate and direct us through obstacles was seamless and helpful rather than demeaning. In addition to that he was extremely accommodating for us having smaller kiddos, one of which nearly having a bathroom emergency. The HYPE is worth believing in! We had such a great tour with Bob who led our tourzilla around the fun and bumpy big bear roads. I was a little hesitant when booking because of the price and no-refund policy but all the reviews won me over. I'm glad we said yes because it was so worth it. Those 40 inch wheels come in handy when you are going through puddles, rocks and mud. Both my kids had an amazing time (age 12 and 8) and I would say they felt like it was a roller coaster that kept going! Bob had music on that he selected throughout the trip and it honestly felt fun and adventurous. TIPS: I will say you should probably bring a warm jacket and it gets quite windy with the open air jeep so sunglasses and even a face covering is a must. We also Brought water and snacks but only used our water because we were so into the experience and the tour. Bob was very knowledgable about the environment, trees, history, and story of Big Bear. We learned new facts and had a great time at it also. This was also a perfect time because the season was not crazy busy and the weather was just perfect. I will also say Bob is a great photographer and was able to catch all the right shots that we were hoping for. read more

5-stars to Big Bear Off-Road Experience!! We booked the Tourzilla online, showed up at the office at our designated time, signed some waivers and off we went. Desi took us up through Holcomb Valley Backcountry and Gold Fever Trail. We climbed up to 7.5k ft elevation, all the while, listening to some great tunes and Desi chiming in to talk about local history, mining heritage, plants, wildlife and off-road techniques & etiquette. We stopped at least 5x on the tour to get up close and soak up some stories and history of the area. Desi has a heart of Gold, he's passionate about this tour and it shows. Went on the beginners trail about a 10 minute drive from there business and we learned about the history of big bear while on our tour that had some fun and interesting facts. Cooper exceeded our expectations of the beginners off roading experience. Since it was just us, we were able to take our time on some of the jumps. Absolutely amazing experience and Connor was a wonderful instructor! You drive your own jeep behind the instructor's jeep and he gives you instructions over a radio and even jumps out and helps guide on certain parts. The instructor offered to take plenty of videos while he was out. At no part did I ever feel like I was in danger as the instructor does a great job of guiding you and is super friendly. You also learn a lot about the mountain and the history of the gold rush that occurred there. Also the views are absolutely spectacular. Not something I would've been able to see by myself. We even saw a couple of deer! There's a bathroom at the main office before you set out and you have 1 break while jeeping, where you can relieve yourself, if need be. read more

Some of it you're kinda like woahhhhh OoOooOo oh crap!! lol cause you're bouncing off the rocks like you're going to break the jeep hahaha but it was lots of fun!! To the driver of the 12 passenger vehicle north bound Poleque Canyon on July 7, 2025 at 1:30 PM, your rate of speed was dangerously excessive. I was the hiker who flagged you to slow down so the giant dust cloud you were making would not choke me and you would not endangner other vehicles on the road. .You sped up and gave the two hands up who cares sign as you drove by as close to me as you could despite have the whole road to a avoid me. Two hands ....none on the wheel, no handed high speed driving close to a pedestrian...that is the impression you want to leave others? Such behavior is not in keeping with the proper use of our forest lands and is not safe for the other users, including those who have paid you for the ride. I have hiked and off roaded in Big Bear for decades, lead tours and all. I know what is safe. I know what is not. What I saw today was unsafe. And rude. There are basic rules to off roading. You need to review those carefully. I would not recommend this tour to others. read more

Alan was so knowledgeable, communicative, friendly, and you can tell that he loves what he does which I think really played into a great experience. It was a little scary at times as you are in a giant off-road vehicle on a one way road on the side of a mountain cliff and someone another vehicle has to pass you, but Alan knew what he was doing and drove that thing like a pro. My boyfriend and I had a fantastic experience off-roading today on Tourzilla with Alan as our driver and guide! Alan began the time by sharing some interesting history starting back in the late 1800s, information about Tourzilla - the vehicle we rode in, a little about Skyline - the road we would be on for the day, and the magnificent views we'd be seeing. Next we loaded up and hit the road with music playing that cleverly fit the experience and that made you want to sing to it. As we rode up the mountainside, appropriate stops were made to give us the opportunity to hear some interesting facts, take in the gorgeous sights, and take breathtaking pictures!!!
