We stayed in one of their cabins this weekend, the whole rental experience was easy. Thanks to the staff who responded right away and made instructions very easy to follow. I will definitely rent from them again. Property was nice, cabin like, restrooms remodeled. My only suggestion for this cabin is to update there master bedroom mattress and the blankets (take your own) i like cozy soft blankets haha. Not comfortable. We came to big bear for a family gathering. They check in progress was easy. We know we would not check in until late so they offer to send us the lock box code via email once we had signed contract online. We didn't feal safe sending our pictures of our credit cards and id's. Star let us bring it in the next morning in person. We arrived at 3 am and we're able to arrived directly to the cabin. We stayed at Casa Bella. It was nice and clean. We rand out of trash bags and dish soap and Housekeeping manger Gricel provided us with more. Over all great experience. read more

We stayed at Pinecone Ridge cabin. The cabin was beautiful and had everything we needed. The surrounding neighborhood was quiet. We loved the hot tub and was able to have a relaxing time. I really enjoyed this place in 2016 when I planned a conservative bachelorette for 8 girls. $400 for 2 nights, great price, so amazing, clean, affordable. Customer service through-the-roof, swift, worth every penny. Since then, I've been on the email list and the cabins have raised in price but they find ways to make it affordable to rent with special deals all around the year, even during this hard Covid season. When Air Bnbs fall through and cancel their reservations, you don't have to worry about that with Cool Cabins. They are a local spot that is constantly trying to improve and move along with their community here in Big Bear. First off--along with each cabin having their own charming flair, a full fridge, and a nice kitchenette--they are pristinely clean. Over and beyond. We feel very safe staying in their cabins. If you ever have an issue, we've specifically had great customer service with Maria and with Jenny. Even the millennials that come in double check everything to make sure everything is taken care of, even if they are too cool for you. We are here for our 10 year anniversary--I've been waiting that long to budget coming back to such a wonderful place--and when I had issues, they immediately helped us have the best experience possible and put the stars back in our eyes for the weekend. The cabin was priced 112$ then there was a 30$ booking fee, a cleaning fee which totaled to 260 or so. Ok that's fine. I had used my son's debit card to pay( it was his treat) but really what should have happened is I should have paid as a 40 year old because my 20 year old son was told we would have to cancel the reservation and put it in his name. Since he was under 21 another non refundable fee was added for incidentals which totaled our stay to 300$. Another issue we had with the property was there was an ant infestation in the kitchen so we did not cook or bring food into the cabin. Too many policies and non-refundable fees for a mountain biking trip! Listen to the not so many star reviews. Get a hotel!!! read more

The home we rented did not meet our reasonable expectations - and it won't meet yours either. The toilet would not flush as normal, the bathroom fan had no knob and so was impossible to turn on. The bedroom fan did not work unless the light was on, and the sliding door and screen to the patio only opened with great difficulty (the bottom rollers were missing). Our kids couldn't open it. The grill took a couple minutes to start (needed to press the prime button 10 or more times AND use a lighter). The freezer never got below 10 degrees (not safe, per the FDA), even though it was set for zero (the recommended temp). When we called for assistance on the toilet (our first night), they sent a man inside the home with NO MASK (violation of Gov. order). He said he'd need to get parts to fix the toilet and would be back the next day. He did not return. After contacting the office, and receiving apologies and promises, another technician came a few days later. He, too, said he'd need to "come back with parts." No one ever did. None of the items were ever fixed, despite many texts to the office and 2 visits. read more

We rolled in during the biggest storm of the year - they were helpful and patient when I forgot the credit card that the stay had been booked with. The cabin was prepared as promised (and pre-paid for) fireplace was ready and the heat was on! We started shoveling after a long day at the mountain when the plow provided by cool cabins rolled up! He was fast professional and punctual - came the next few days to ensure we could get in and out of the driveway with ease.. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE !!! i'm not one to usually write reviews, but want to share my experience so you know what to expect. 1. FALSE ADVERTISING !!! i booked the cabin knowing it has a hot-tub, after i get there and see there's no water in it and calling them, they say that it was NOT-permitted and they had taken out of the advertisement, which first why is the add there in the first place if its not permitted, second what happens to people who paid extra for a place that includes a hot-tub. i could've gotten a much cheaper option with no hot-tub. 2. Be prepare to go get you own propane tank if you intent to use the grill, because gas ran out after 2 minutes of me using it the very first night we arrived. 3. I'm glad places like these are pet friendly, but i'm not happy about housekeeping not at least vacuuming the floors to get rid of the hair. There was dog hair at every inch of the place, including couches, which i couldn't sit on unless i put a cover first, all the beds and counters, inside of every drawer. Every piece of my clothing was covered in hair. 4. Do not forget anything, because they will simply tell you that they checked and couldn't find it, after i mentioned exactly where my laptop charger was left behind. read more

The cabin we rented on 2/8-2/11 Bear Family Ranch, was very dirty. All the utensils, pots, cans, plates, cups etc in the kitchen were dirty. We washed everything before we used it. The dishwasher had a bunch of white build up in it, so I don't know if things were actually clean after we washed them. We ended up buying plastic utensils and cups and paper plates to use instead of the nasty stuff in the kitchen. When you used the garbage disposal dirty water would come up on the other side of the sink. We had to keep resetting the water heater a few times a day because it kept shutting off, nobody likes a cold shower. We had a jet tub in our bathroom that had dirty stuff in the bottom of it. The toilet in our bathroom was scratched up and gross to sit on. The whole cabin was disgusting, DON'T RENT FROM THEM!!!!!!! The PacMan game didn't work, I called and they sent a repair guy out. He said he fixed it, when we tried to play it after he left the buttons didn't work, so the game didn't work. I called back and they said the game is broken and a manager would call me with a refund since the game isn't working...nobody ever called me!! read more

We really enjoyed our recent stay at the Summit Mountain Lodge that we booked thru Cool Cabins for our family reunion. The check-in and check-out process was a breeze. We encountered a couple of very minor issues that were resolved quickly by contacting the office. Easy, peasy! We'll definitely reuse Cool Cabins next time. Also, the Summit Mountain Lodge was fantastic. The kitchen was perfect for cooking our family meals. There are multiple hangout areas, including the living room, the outdoor deck and activity area, and a deluxe game room. Plenty of sleeping accommodations for our party. Moonridge Escape Cabin Review: Uncomfortable, Clean, Quiet (Mostly) Cabin Escape in The Woods The Good: Cabin was immaculate. Fresh towels on the rack, Keurig cups in the cabinet, I was impressed. The furnishings are clean if not a little spare on the comfort factor. This cabin is closer to Ikea than Ethan Allen. The show piece of this cabin is the location and back porch. For most of the stay I sat and sipped coffee on the recently remodeled wooden wrap around back deck and listened and looked at the quiet beauty of the great outdoors. The Bad: The beds are comically uncomfortable. We were a group of 5. My wife and I took the king bed room. We both tossed and turned the whole night. If I'd had my camping hammock with me I'd have strung it up and slept under the stars. You've been warned: rough bedding ahead. Lowlanders beware: you will park at the top of a hill and descend stairs to cabin at the bottom of the hill. 7000 feet and a lot of luggage winded me before the weekend even started. Pack light! The Ugly: Saturday night we heard more than the great outdoors outside the window after turning in. Revelers at a party down the street turned loud but thankfully didn't last long. We assumed that the neighborhood doesn't tolerate disturbances and someone let them know. Final word: Clean cabins with views, cool breezes, and nature abound but I cannot guarantee a good nights sleep in a Cool Cabin. read more

Never staying with them again. Tried pulling into the driveway of our cabin, and our hero wrangler started to slide backward from the sheet of ice. Huge, thick, sheet of ice covered the entire, highly sloped driveway. Literally impossible to get up. On top of that, there was a giant pile of lumber in the front where construction was going on. Went back to the front office and asked to talk to a a manager. No manager was there. Finally got "Kayla M", who is apparently a manager on the phone. Outright lied claiming the driveway was fine. Refused to send anyone out to shovel or fix it. Said we signed a waiver in our contract, so if anyone falls and hurst themselves, it's on us. The did offer to move us to another cabin, but it wasn't as nice as the one we rented, and was a pain to move and hours wasted from the beginning of our vacation. Kayla M doesn't give a darn, she made that In regard you your reply, I grew up in the northeast with snow and ice every winter with a very steep driveway. It IS possible to properly maintain a driveway without ice if you are willing to do the work. And what is your excuse for the construction site, yellow tape, and port-a-potty outside? Such a sad and dangerous cabin. The TV hangs over the 1978 hutch. The heater is jammed up against furniture. The blanket had holes. It was sad because I saved and saved to take my 2 little girls there. The fire extinguisher is literally next to the heater...I'm surprised the place didn't blow up. An old electrically unsound exposed heater is near the bathtub. Ready to electrocute. Pillows on the couch have never been run through a washer. Stained and smelly. They went above and beyond to help us during our emergency situation. They were able to meet us at their office after hours to make sure our little family vacation was not ruined. Had a great time with the family out in Big Bear Most Big Bear Cabins were pricey and this one was reasonable and made the process easy. I'd say they're reliable. The cabin seems very safe, you open door with number code and they have cameras around the house. Need to drive out 15 minutes to throw out the trash but other than that the cabin was decent especially since we were mostly out of the house visiting Big Bear Lake & The Sliding down the Snow. My favorite part was the fireplace, the kid friendly roon with a secret door with wooden kitchen, the cozy comfty wooden cabin, and waking up to the snow. Would recommend. RUDEST RENTAL EXPERIENCE EVER! Don't waste your money on these people. We have rented from Air bnb multiple times and had some basic questions for Cool Cabins. Isabelle, who I'm assuming is the owner or manager (her picture is the one who is responding to all these Yelp reviews), was less than helpful and very rude with her responses. My friends and I unexpectedly stayed at a different cabin than the one we originally booked- and it was a fantastic experience. On the day of our arrival, Big Bear Cool Cabins kept us updated on our cabin and entry code via text messages, which was a relief that we did not have to drive to the office to receive the keys. When we got there, the cabin was clean, had plenty of space in each room, but unfortunately the hot tub was not working. Our group was really looking forward to enjoying the spa so we contacted BBCC and they sent over maintenance, who then told us the hot tub was broken :( BBCC gave us options to accommodate this situation, including moving us to a different cabin with a working hot tub, at no extra cost. We were pleasantly surprised with this and moved into a new cabin with a gorgeous kitchen and a nice hot tub. Our group had a wonderful time over the weekend thanks to wonderful service from Big Bear Cool Cabin, and we will definitely be using them again. read more

So much to say about our experience. We requested and early check-in and we were told it wasn't guaranteed. Totally fine. We called a couple of times to see if the place was ready. We finally picked up the keys at 3:55pm. They said the cabin would be ready in 5 minutes. We drove there and found the cleaning people just starting to clean from the people before. Apparently the people who occupied the place before would not leave. Upon walking in we noticed a door to one of the rooms off the hinges and lying against the wall. That was just the beginning of the problems. Gas did not work for the fireplace. We had to call for lightbulbs that were out. We were not given the key to the jacuzzi and had to call yet again. The central heat did not work in one of the rooms. The multitude of space heaters should have tipped us off. We found two black widows hanging out inside. Long story short we left two days early. After a lot of back and forth and not a lot of help we were offered a refund for one of the days and a 10% discount for next time we stay. However, we won't be using this company anymore. Such a disappointing experience. read more
