Originally hired Paul 3 years ago and did a great job installing thermostat for a great price. 2nd job a ceiling fan. 3rd time hired him again to replace numerous old fixtures and was quoted one price then each fixture was $20 higher after install. I assumed best and that I misunderstood but my radar was up. 4th time had emergency situation and called and texted at a reasonable time and completely ignored me. Called me a week later said had a family emergency so I gave benefit of doubt and hired him again for small odds and ends, dimmers etc. Called him again after I had a bad main breaker. Then same main breaker he replaced 2 months ago went bad again and never returned my call or text again at 7pm. Also charged $300 after tax for 100 amp main breaker which I later found out was $40 and less than a half hour at my house. Called an emergency electrician and charged me half what paul charged to replace again same main breaker and switched what side it was on panel and showed me part on panel was fried and he should have addressed root cause rather than just throw another one on that was bound to fail. I even recommended him to numerous people. My overall assessment is he is priced fair for small odds and ends but when it matters in emergency situations that's when he takes advantage and overcharges or just simply doesn't respond. read more

Amazing service. I had an issue with most of my downstairs electric being out. The breaker wouldn't hold...this happened years ago and it turned out there was a small fire in my garage wall! luckily the insulation put that fire right out! So obviously I was nervous about that happening again. They replaced the breaker that basically fell out right into their hands. All was great! I plugged in the outside pond after they left and the breaker blew again! I called them back. They came right back. immediately! Super impressed and so inexpensive!! Great Company -- Gave us a very reasonable estimate to replace 5 ceiling fans and install a bathroom Vent Fan complete with brand new electrical service and switches. My light switch wasn't working and I swear I checked ten times to make sure that the electric circuit breaker switches were all "on". Well it turns out that one was sort of "in the middle" and not on. I scheduled an appointment for an ESTIMATE but was not given one. Instead, the electrician flicked the switch and voila, the light switch worked again. Stupid, stupid me!!!!! The electrician was a nice, polite and friendly young man. He arrived in a timely manner. I got charged $125 ( plus a small fee for using a credit card) which I assume is their minimum for a service call. Kicking myself, big time. read more

When I first hired Big Bear, I was anxious, as I have had some whopping bills, for minor things, after always having used our cousin who was a very good licensed electrician. Big Bear did everything right, I got a clear detailed description of the work I needed done with pricing. Prior to the job which was even broken down into sections, in case I didn't want to do all projects at once. They were professional efficient & more than willing to explain everything, before they leave. Their pricing, is fair, reasonable and clear! The second time they came, they had an interruption in their schedule that was understandable, but still kept me informed and as always send a reminder text of our appointment.
