Definitely recommend checking out Big Bear Escape Room! We were a party of two and did Holcomb's Lost Gold, and it was such a fun experience. The room was a bit challenging at some points, but our gamemaster, Tanner, was super helpful and made the whole experience even better. The room itself was really well done, with a good mix of straightforward and more challenging puzzles. Tanner was also dressed on theme, which honestly added such a fun touch to the experience. As someone who loves escape rooms, I will definitely be back to try the other room, but maybe with a few more people LOL. Escape rooms are so expensive these days, so I was also really pleased with the cost. Overall, such a fun time and totally worth it! read more

Tanner at the Big Bear Escape Room truly went above and beyond. He even came in on a day they're normally closed so we could reschedule after car trouble the night before -- which we appreciated more than he knows. We did the Gold Miner room and our three boys had an absolute blast! It was our first escape room experience, and Tanner made it so fun. He was thorough with the instructions and gave us hints at just the right moments to keep it exciting without giving too much away. What a great time family time, a little escape from our screens by getting us all to work together to solve multiple puzzles. The Lost Gold room was perfect for our family of 4, including our preteen. Not so tough that we needed several clues, and our youngest was able to contribute to several solves as well. Tanner, the owner, did a great job reimagining this location - you can tell he's passionate and energetic about it all. My husband and I escaped Holcomb's Lost Gold and made the leaderboard! We have done 145+ escape rooms, and here is our take on this place: 1) Game Master and new owner Tanner is incredible. He is welcoming, energetic, and really gets into character, which makes for a memorable experience. 2) The game set design is on point, giving you the feel of being back in the 1800s. Added bonus that there are some fun little gems sprinkled in there for a few laughs. 3) The puzzles are unique, thoughtful, and are challenging yet make sense.
