My fiancé and I love Alpine Coasters, so when we travel and find one within 2 hours, we check it out! Recently we were staying in Joshua Tree and learned of Mineshaft Coaster in Big Bear. After we finished work, we drove about an hour and a half and made it just before closing time. We signed the waiver, and made it quickly to our coaster carts. Safety checks and instructions were given and we were off! This one was one of my favorites because there are actually 2 runs. I wish we would have had more time to ride again but all in all it was a wonderful experience.

Such a cool ride! Really fun! My kids loved it. We went on twice and the price was not too bad.

I wanted to start off by saying that the experience was really fun and beautiful to see! My family and I got to experience the mineshaft coaster with snow and as a Californian you know we LOVE snow. (Hahah) $20 per ride/per person & $10 for "small child". Although I think, for the amount of years that they've been running, they can do a lot of things to make the process of signing waivers, and buying tickets a lot smoother. If this is your first time, you probably wouldn't even know what each line is for what because they have no signs, or no staff, directing or answering questions outside. The little shed to the right of the ride entrance is to sign a liability waiver; we waited 30 minutes for that. Luckily, I had a bigger party, and I was able to send my mom and sister to wait in line while my dad and I went into a separate line to purchase the ticket. So, remember when coming that you have to purchase your ticket in a separate line, and once you have your ticket, enter into the ride line. We waited 1 hour to get our tickets and onto the ride. Until they find a different system to purchase tickets and sign waivers...just be aware that you'll be waiting in line for a bit. Side note: They also need to do some thing about the start of the ride. In order to sort of be pushed up to the first hill, the cart behind you must ram into you at full speed. My shoulder hurt the rest of the day, yikes.

Writing this review to say that Big A deserves a Big Raise. After a line that we thought would never end he brought our vibes back up entirely and almost made us forget the hell we had just gone through waiting in line for what felt like an eternity. Basically he's really awesome and felt like family right off the bat so I hope he can get paid a lot of money because he deserves it.

Pros: *Not as scary as expected *$20 for one adult ride *Little/no wait time *Instructions clear Cons: *Not so friendly staff *Pay extra for getting pictures/videos & can't record with your phone

This was so much fun! It was our first time visiting and we definitely had a blast. Lines to get on were not bad at all and prices were decent. We will visit next time in town as my son and I enjoyed the ride. I recommend to visit and enjoy the time there.

So much fun!! You have to sign a waiver before any activities and each ride is a separate ticket.

Fun but i ended up bruised from the coaster and the coaster feels too expensive. $20 per adult $10 per kid. So our family of 3 is $50 for one ride. Not counting the other things available. The ride is about 10 minutes long. Young kids must have an adult with them. Would i do this again? No. Will my son, yes but when he is old enough to do it alone . You can also pay $15 more for pictures and video of the coaster

Parking was free when we got there (Monday) First stop is the kiosk (not tickets!) where you sign a waiver. They'll give you a little zip tie to show you're cleared for rides. After that, you buy tickets per ride and line up for whatever you want to do. You will not be able to do anything without the zip tie. Total wait time for us with kiosk and for the ride was about 2 hours, but it flew by. Parents waited in line for the coaster while kids played in the snow or hopped into shorter ride lines, smart setup. If you get the blonde coaster attendant, consider yourself lucky. She's stern but fair and keeps things from getting chaotic. Big Bear celebrity status, honestly. As you can see on the other reviews haha part of the experience. Heads up: the food area was messy and the restroom was out of toilet paper (crowds + kids = chaos). Come prepared and lower expectations there. That said, the wait was 100% worth it. My daughter loved it and we'll definitely be back. Another family recommended the night snow tubing, saying it's less crowded. Coaster rides are about $20, and bring quarters for lockers or leave your stuff in the car. Also, the tubing hill here is way more fun than the others in town. Fun, busy, chaotic, but totally worth it.

I grew up in San Diego and I've lived in LA for many years and a year after year I keep telling…read moremyself that I have to check this place out. For this most recent long three-day weekend in Lake Arrowhead we decided to finally give this place a try. We are two adults in our 30s with no kids. It is important to note that because honestly, this place is for children 10 and under. It is not for teens or adults. It is honestly pretty underwhelming if you are an adult, but it can be quite charming if you are a child. It is also $55 per person and $15 for parking which is a bit expensive, but I understand the inflated price due to the location and having to staff it. One thing about this place that is nice is they don't have a bunch of add-ons once you get inside, so you really do just pay one price unless you decide to get food as well. The other part of this park is specifically designed for people into mountain biking. They have six different trails ranging in difficulty from easy to difficult and about half of the visitors seemed to be doing that which we would go back specifically for. The activities for adults are pretty limited, so the main ones that we did were the bike in the air that goes around the rim of the property. This is the ride that you see in all the marketing and is the most popular. It was probably the most fun we had but it was honestly a bit scary once you get to the steepest point. It's about 50 feet above the ground so it would be quite a fall down. After that, we tried some archery and ax throwing which was surprisingly fun. After that, there was honestly nothing else that we could really do given our age and size so we headed out after that. This would be a great place to visit during December with children 10 and under because they do have Santa Claus and people in costumes and what not and each of the buildings is alpine themed and is very quaint. They also have a very large area that serves as a wedding location so I'm sure that is also another part of this place. There is a large free parking lot attached in front with EV charging available as well.

We've been here during the fall and winter and I would recommend coming for the winter decorations. The crowd varies during the year, when we came during the fall weekday, it was empty and there was no wait for any of the activities. We came last week (3 days before Christmas) and we had to wait for each activity. It wasn't bad, but it did make the day longer. If you plan to eat, I would eat earlier because in the afternoon lunch our food took about 1hr. The highlight of the trip for my kid is santa and I'm glad we did that first to get a reservations. We did the mountain bike part earlier in the fall and that was nice if your kid is into it. We rented all the gear and opted for the tour guide to help us get use to it.
