We got our house in upper Moonridge painted at the end of fall last year and had a really great experience working with Big Bear Pro Painting. Overall very happy with the painting work that Big Bear Pro painting did. They managed to squeeze me in right before the winter season hit and did the job efficiently and for a fair price. My only issue is with the electrical work. They include removing all light fixtures in the process and putting them back which I was grateful for. After they'd finished one of my light fixtures no longer worked they did send some of the painters to look at it but it was old and I was planning to replace anyways so not a big deal, it works after replacing. The bigger issue I found is that for 2 of my other exterior lights they didn't mask them off and just gave it the landlord special and painted right over them and most of the wires. Including the ground wires, which when reinstalled they attached the ground wire to the newly painted one which is not safe Two of my window screens were also damaged and I needed to repair them. We have used Roberto and his team twice now. The first time we had them sand and reseal our 20' by 30' deck. The amount of prep work of grinding, sanding, and protecting the house exceeded my expectations. The next summer we needed our 2 story house painted. My large concern was all the sun damage on the wood and warped boards. I was concerned about the extensive cost to get this fixed before painting. Roberto did a walk around with me and gave me a quote on what it would take to fix some of the issue but he was going to repair what he could without having to replace boards, but we wouldn't be able to know the extent until he got into it. Roberto had done such a great job in the past I knew I could trust their judgement. Big Bear Pro was able to repair all the boards without extensive replacement saving me additional costs. Robert and his crew did a top notch job on our cabin in Big Bear. 3 coats of stain, caulked everything after the second coat (very important, some painters caulk first and then that area will not take stain), and painted the eves. Robert even provided input on the stain and paint colors, which turned out to be exactly what we wanted. The first stain color we selected from a color chart looked great but would have been too dark. The process of booking this company went smooth. Paper work was easily handled and the quoting process was easy. So these guys aren't cheap, therefore the standard is high. I run an Airbnb business and unfortunately this company did not want to paint the interior of the home in the Spring and Summer (when it's convenient for us Airbnb Hosts) he pushed for a winter season when we are usually 100% at occupancy. He leaves the dry months open for customers painting the outside of their homes.This made me a little uncomfortable but I continued as I needed to get my cabin painted. My issues were that the work was not great, it was okay, there were drips on the trim and inconsistencies around the cabin. They cleaned their equipment in my bathroom and kitchen sink, which left paint all over the faucets and mirrors and stainless sinks. There was paint on my wood floors and they dumped left over paint and cleaned their equipment in my backyard, leaving an imprint and white all over my mulch. These men also helped themselves to my kitchen, storing items in the fridge and leaving it dirty, using my microwave and leaving it dirty, leaving food crumbs on the kitchen island (attracting insects). Worst of all they ruined my counter stools because the put their boots all over the bottom hanger portion of them. There was paint on the door knobs. The toilet paper that we left out was used up (not a huge deal but an inconvenience) . I had to spend 6 hours of my own time plus and augmented cleaning bill to make this right. I messaged the owner with photos and he said "I wish you would have told me and I would have had my guys go clean", I said I had a booking the next day and couldn't wait for him to do this at his time. Again, no apologies, nothing. My paint is already pealing in my bathroom. Please save yourself the $2k-3k and find someone appropriately priced for the quality of work. Note to the 80% of property owners in Big Bear (Airbnb Hosts) ...look elsewhere. Find someone convenient for YOU. Watch them, be on site and check the work before you pay. read more
