I had a craving for pepperoni pizza on Mother's Day. My adult children took me to Big Ben Pizzeria to feed me pepperoni pizza. There was some confusion amongst my kids about starting with appetizers, after all it is Mother's Day. I kept repeating, "I want pepperoni pizza". Insistent they asked if I'd like an appetizer with that. "I want pepperoni pizza" came my reply. Finally they sat me down, checked the status on a late-arriving offspring, when what to my wondering eyes did appear, A PEPPERONI PIZZA FOR THE MOM ON MOTHER'S DAY. I AM IN HEAVEN. A pizza and a salad and the salad comes with the most delicious huge homemade roll. The pizza is exactly as you dream about; hot, well-melted cheese and cooked to perfection, with a crispy chewy crust! Oh, and the chicken fingers are the best. No frozen flat things, but real tenders. Meaty and tasty. Most of all, though, you will feel welcome. Just the nicest people. Suncook is a precious little downtown old brick mill area. Big Ben Pizzeria opened recently in Suncook Village, inside the former space of (Bella Napoli, Clemenza's and Weir Roasting). The place was minimally modified from the previous restaurant, a casual Italian restaurant and pizzeria with hardwood floors and table seating along the walls (for up to 32 diners) and takeout counter in the back. Unlike the other nearby pizza places which serve the standard Greek style pizza, Big Ben serves up traditional and specialty NY style pizzas (most $6.39-$17.99), calzones, salads ($4.25-$9.75), appetizers, hot & cold subs, burgers, Italian dinners, chicken dinners, gyros, souvlaki, and baklava. Pepsi drinks served here. See the uploaded menu (3/18) on this listing. I stopped in here recently to pick up a pizza for dinner. The place is very new. After placing my order for a Small (10") Eggplant Pizza ($7/39 plus tax), I was also given a sample of their homemade bread with olive oil/seasonings for dipping, which was excellent! Another customer enjoyed it so much that she asked if they sell their bread, which they do. My Eggplant Pizza was hot and ready in about 15 minutes after ordering. The pizza was very tasty, which was topped with thick tomato sauce, large round breaded eggplant slices, and melted cheese. The oiled crust was crisp on the outside with thicker rolled edges crisp and soft and slightly chewy on the inside. I will make sure to return here for the pasta dinners. Big Ben is definitely what the Pembroke & Allenstown area needed, a very good pizza place with reasonable prices.  This business will need to get the word out that they are open for business since this stretch of road through Suncook has much less traffic than nearby US 3/NH 28. read more

Picked up a pizza at Big Ben's because our goto place was closed. Staff was friendly, but the pizza was disappointing. Got a large and might just as well have got a medium because the toppings and sauce were the size of a medium on a large crust. There was more than an inch of crust with no sauce around the edges. The crust was one of the toughest we have had to chew. The sauce was as disappointing as the crust. read more

Ordered their extra large veggie pizza and was very pleased with the quality. The price and quantity made it a great value. It's a personal preference but the sauce was a bit sweeter than we'd prefer but I'm sure most people will enjoy. It was "well done" as we requested and cooked perfectly. Ordered a pizza for pickup and when we got there, were told that they had made it wrong... twice! We went ahead and took both of the not-quite-right pizzas home and they were absolutely delicious! If I could give a zero I would. Last week we ordered the family special. 2 xlarge cheese pizzas and chicken tenders. The pizza was awful so I sent a FB message. I received a message back apologizing and offering to replace another open day. We waited till Sun since this order is a Sunday special. We placed our order, my husband went to pick it up. The owner refused to give us the chicken which my husband offered to pay for. The owner yelled at my husband and said we were "banned " from ordering anymore. he told my husband to get out. Upon hearing this I FB messaged and asked why my husband was treated this way? Why we were banned? The response I got was, " you and your husband just got 2 free pizzas, what else do you want". I responded it really wasn't free as we paid for the original order. This pizza sucked just as much as last weeks. This owner is rude and has done this before. read more

Very disappointed that I drove 30 minutes to find them closed at 4:30pm on a Tuesday. Although I called their phone number and their voicemail says they are open on Tuesday at 3:30pm. My husband and I had delivery 3-4 times. Each time they were prompt and lovely. The food is excellent! This place had the worst delivery person that I have ever had. I asked the person who took the order to have the delivery person use an intercom to get to my condo because I could not come down. When the order comes, the delivery person calls on a cell phone and asks me to come down. I explain how to use the intercom, and but they say it's broken. I went down to get the pizza, showed them how to use the intercom, but only gave 2 bucks for a tip. They got angry and asked if I wanted help to carry the pizza up the stairs. read more

This place is amazing. I have been in a few times to order take out and the people there are just so sweet and attentive. The food is fantastic, fresh and cooked just the way I ordered it. The delivery people are super nice! I have yet to find something on the menu I don;t like. They are open later then many of the local pizza joints. Their Greek specialties are some of the best I have had. My hope is to one day open the menu and see that they offer dolmas. Were that to happen, I would never order from anywhere else!!! Just tried Big Ben's for the first time and it definitely won't be the last! Everything we had was homemade and amazing. In my opinion, perfect pizza crust, thin-but not too thin, just the right amount of chewiness and crunch. My go-to is going to be the Chicken broccoli Alfredo pizza. We also tried the Spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were so tender with just the right amount of seasoning. And the baklava...oh my! This was the first time we tried Big Ben's! We ordered the lasagna dinner to share. It came with a salad & homemade roll, pita bread AND garlic bread. We were shocked by the GENEROUS portion of lasagna too. I am SUPER picky about lasagna & have been making my own for years & think I perfected it to a T! I have been disappointed in restaurant lasagna MANY times in the past & so insist on only making my own. My husband & I were craving lasagna & I didn't have the time, ingredients or energy to make it. Luckily, we found a menu we received in the mail & decided to give it a try! We decided we should share one order. We were glad we did! It was a HUGE portion but also delicious with plenty of sauce. We opted to add on meatballs & got FOUR for only an extra $1! The homemade roll was to die for. The owner was super nice & asked me if I liked B.L.T. pizza. Never having heard of it I replied I hadn't tried it. Next thing I know while waiting for my order I was sampling this genius pizza! It was cool & on a perfect crust drizzled with ranch dressing. I saved half for my husband to try. He LOVED it as well! I've been addicted to this place since they opened and I love the pizza/burgers/lasagna/DINNER ROLLS so much I haven't been willing to try something else, till today!! I got this HUGE, beautiful tuna salad pocket sandwich and O.... M.... FRIGGEN... G!!!
