Had delivery for the first time. Food was great, had chicken parm. Driver was very nice. He forgot the cheese cakes for my wife and I, but said he would go back and get them. Just 10 minutes later he was there with not only our cheese cakes, bt a nice big slice of chocolate cake as well as an "Sorry about that!" My wife is Korean and this is very normal in her culture. I do not like giving bad reviews, but the pizza we had here wasn't great or even good. It was basically all cheese, cheap tasting cheese and a tiny bit of sauce. The crust was the best part of it. The chicken fingers were soggy already and even soggy didn't have any flavor. Some seasoning or marinating or a brine could go a long way here. I just don't recommend this place. read more

I got dinner takeout from Famous Village Pizza, which is located in the heart of Suncook Village. This is your basic pizza place which is order at the counter with an open ktichen and grill. There's formica booth seating and a small TV propped up on a milk crate. They offer thin crust pizza baked in a pan plus specialty pizzas, calzones, subs, salads, burgers, spaghetti, chicken tenders, and seafood (haddock, clam strips, scallops, shrimp). Utz chips and cooler drinks (Coke & Pepsi products). The small cheese pizza is $5.50, but for a few cents more, you can get a large 16" cheese pizza for $5.99, everyday anytime special. I ordered a large cheese pizza and a spaghetti with sausage ($6.99). I could've added a side salad for $1.25 if I wanted to. The food was ready in about 20 minutes. The pizza had a soft firm thin crust with crispy thick edges. The pizza was fairly greasy with more cheese than sauce and the crust was slightly oily from being baked in a pan. The spaghetti was cooked just right, which had sliced grilled Italian sausages, chunky tomato sauce and served with baked buttery garlic bread. I've eaten pizza at most of the joints near Pembroke and this is where I now do Friday nights. The Veggie pizza is fantastic. The crust is just right, topping in perfect quantities. Highly recommend! This place needs new owners that can read and speak English. After 10 years of ordering food from here it gone to the dogs, and I wouldn't serve my dogs the food. Today for about the 4th time we received our delivery order and 5 sandwiches ordered were missing everything extra. I called and spoke to the owner and he claims the person taking the order screwed up because they were new. The receipt says everything ordered with extras, but he blames wrong person. The owner only wanted to offer $10 off our next order. No offer to remake and deliver. $10 doesn't compensate for extremely piss poor service. If anyone checks Google reviews this is not the only recent problem. The owner needs to sell and get someone back in the restaurant that knows how to cook. I use to work at a sandwich/pizza restaurant before and I don't think I made 5 mistakes in 3 years. It would be better to drive to Concord or Manchester for better food and service. I've eaten thousands of pizzas around the world and am somewhat of a "pizza connoisseur." This mushroom/cheese pizza was the best I've had in at least a year, and definitely the best I've had in NH. You could see the quality of ingredients just by looking at the pizza, and tasting it just reconfirmed this. Really quite excellent! Very happy with it! The quality has really gone down hill And taken a turn for the worse. The delivery times take forever (much longer than quoted), food is often cold, the order is normally incorrect. Cold food and stolen money. Where to begin why i will never order here again. We placed an order for two subs,curly fries, and a two liter soda around 6 pm last night. We were told that it would take about 45-50 minutes to receive the food which is the norm. After an hour and twenty minutes my girlfriend called asked if they left yet because it was taking longer than stated. The employee on the phone seemed like she did not care how long it took and said it was on its way. after another twenty minutes it finally showed up. The driver showed up handed us our food and we asked about the soda and he said he forgot it (of course why wouldn't you bring the whole order). The driver went back to grab the soda. We started to eat the subs and fries and we noticed the fries were cold and the subs (steak n cheese/ chicken parmesan) were on the colder/warm side. I called to tell them that this was unacceptable especially after waiting almost one hour and 45 minutes. Again the employee on the phone sound like she could care less and said she would need to talk to the manager to see if they could do anything. The manager came on (Tammy) and i told her how long we waited and that the food was cold and they forgot the soda as well and asked if i could be refunded for the meal.she has very unwilling to refund my money. I told her they said it would only take 45-50 minutes to get the food and she argued that they were telling people an hour and 15 minutes for delivery. There are way two many other options out there for subs and we would've never waited that long especially since we live ten minutes from them. Tammy kept offering to send us another "fresh order" but after waiting as long as we did we did not want to wait even longer as it was almost 8 pm now. I asked for a refund again and she kept refusing to do it. After being so aggravated and enjoyed by the situation i said just bring my soda we will warm everything up in the oven and hung up on her (rude i know but again i was just over the ordeal). About five minutes later Tammy called and said she wanted to make things right so i asked for the refund again. Again she was hesitant to do that and said she would meet half way in the middle (don't understand why half way if they were going to send out the exact same order again isn't that twice twice the lost of money?) So i agreed just because i wanted this to be over with. She said i would get a refund for $16.52 (half) and sent the driver back out with the money and soda. So here's where it gets interesting, the driver came gave us the soda and the receipt that said $16.52 he handed us the money and soda then left. I counted the money and i only received $13.52. Not sure if they miscounted or if the driver took an extra $3 dollars as a tip but either way you cut it they stole not just that money form me but the whole amount of the bill as we were not even able to eat anything since we were so frustrated. And for that reason we will never order here or recommended this place again. read more

I went here once as my brother lived in the old mill building for a year and one of the employees stole my smart phone while I was in the bathroom for a minute. When I called the cops, they said it would take 24 hours to get a search warrant, well by then my phone is gone and sold or whatever this kid did with it. It's all I could do to not jump the counter and shake him upside down to get it back. Cops said that happens a lot in the area because of the low income housing and druggies looking for stuff to sell to get the quick fix. Lesson learned and once my brother moved out, there's no reason to go back to this place ever or heck, even go back to Pembroke. This place and the town get 1 star. read more

The restaurant is very homey. I feel very comfortable there. You can't go wrong with the pizza, it's awesome! Lots of cheese and just enough sauce. Mozzarella sticks are great too, they have great marinara sauce. Their french fries are well made too, but sometimes have too much salt. According to my dad, their sub sandwiches are good too. Customer service is wonderful and the prices are at a satisfactory range. I've never had the full menu, but I'm sure it's all good. read more

amazing. this is the answer to your pizza craving. we had a mushroom and pepperoni pizza and a meatball sub, and despite having just completed a cake tasting at jacques next door, we managed to finish all of it. the pizza crust was a perfect, airy texture with a bit of crisp, and there were plenty of toppings and cheese without being overwhelming. the meatballs and sauce both had great flavor, and the bun was fresh and toasted just enough to support the weight of the sandwich but not flake apart. read more

I haven't tried the pizza and after my experience I wont bother. Ordered buffalo chicken tenders, French fries and an Italian sub. Tenders were soggy as were the fries. The Italian was smothered in mayo and I only asked for oil. Italian subs don't have mayo as far as I know. I scraped off the mayo and threw out half the sub it was uneatable. It was delivered without the extra blue cheese or menu that I asked for. Also I ordered 2 small sodas, was charged for 20 oz soda, and they were forgotten completely. We have been in Pembroke for nine years and tried just about every pizza place from Concord to Allenstown. This pizza is great if you like non-greasy cheese and delicious crust. Excellent restaurant. I called this evening and ordered a calzone and cheese pizza. The pizza was not as huge as I am used to but it tasted good. The pepperoni calzone was as good as they come. The thing I loved was that I ordered the pizza. They stated it would be ready in 20 minutes. I got to the store 20 minutes later and I was greeted by a friendly gentleman that took my name, found my ordered and took my money. He gave me a coupon and told me to come again. I like Famous' food, and we get take out there often. But oh my God, do they have the WORST customer service on the planet. They are rude, unappreciative of your business, and condescending. They even screen their calls and won't answer if they recognize a number for a PITA customer (I've had this happen to me personally, where I called several times and got no answer, and as soon as I called on my cell phone there was magically someone available to answer; my friend speculated that they didn't want to deal with "that lady who orders a large cheese for her kids and nothing else." LOL). In fact, just in writing this I'm afraid they might spit in my food next time I order. Aside from the thought of spit in my food, it's always really good! Except for the salads, but you can't really count on a pizza place for a salad anyway. Their chicken tenders are fantastic, on par with The Backroom. The prices are great, and the location is easy to get to, and clean. The hours are kinda skimpy, unfortunately after hanging with some friends, when you get to that point where you want food, Famous is closed. Or they'll tell you when you call 30 minutes before they close that the kitchen's closed and they aren't taking any more orders. While their pizzas aren't spectacular, they're descent, and are the "worst" thing I've had there. The calzones and subs are dynamite, especially the steak and cheese calzone. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed, just be prepared to not feel warm fuzzies. read more

I will NEVER go there again I went there last night at 9 PM gave them my order for 3 lg subs a large ff and a chicken caeser(chicken on the side) it took them 45 min to give my order to me the New owner gave me a slice of cheese cake because it took so long( ok he's trying) I get home with my order the chicken was not on the side (ok no big deal) I have large subs 1 small sub (with only mayo lettuce and pickles on it) I called the place to let them know about the mistake they and then after we got into our meals the ff were old greasy and cold the steak and cheese was old and cold and my salad just lettuce with no caeser dressing.. after an hr after I called back because we never got the other sub and I told them I would go down ad get it myself I went down and got it and they told me that it was on the way to my house.. I went home and still after 12 hrs I am still waiting for my sub The owner did how ever refund me my money which is a good thing but I still will not be going there again I wish the old owners (Tony and his wife)were still there. I was here visiting on vacation and decided to order in a pizza. Having lived here previously, I expected more from this place. I ordered a small half pepperoni and half feta cheese pizza. I was told the wait would be half an hour. After waiting for a whole hour... the pizza finally arrived. My total came to about $11. I handed the deliver driver a $20 and asked for $5 back and he could keep the remaining $3 and extra change as a tip. He then told me he only had 3 ones and some 20 dollar bills and could not give me $5 back. He said he could return after his last delivery with the remaining change. Being more than frustrated and uncomfortable with the situation, I decided I did not want him back on my porch. So I ended up paying $17 for a bad pizza that took an hour to arrive. Will not ever order from there again. For future reference, Famous Village Pizza, make sure your drivers can provide correct change!!! read more

I recently went to Famous Village Pizza and was very pleasantly surprised by the quality and quantity of food you get for your money. I ordered a large pizza with pepperoni and sausage and the toppings were generous and the crust was delicious. I also had some chicken tenders that reminded me of those served at the Backroom. Last but not least, their steak and cheese sub was the best I have ever had. Their service was friendly and they reminded me that they take competitors coupons!
