We learned where they were sourced and how the flavors were informed by the environment. We were also walked through the process of tasting the wine and some unique tips on analyzing the flavor profile. After the tasting and tour we had the option of purchasing a bottle of wine at a discount. I left with the Barbera - excited to try! Justin created a very easeful environment which encouraged community, open dialogue and laughter. No fluff here! It was definitely an educational experience. The easy going and kind nature of the staff definitely influenced the ambiance. I came with one friend and left with four new ones! And the space is breathtaking - lots of light and free flowing air. She greeted us at our hotel shortly before 11 am in the morning, and chauffeured us in a large Suburban and had cold water bottles for us before we even hit the first winery. At the first winery, she arranged to have both the white and red wine flights for us to sample and guided us through what we were drinking. At the conclusion of the first tasting, she took us on a walk though the vineyard where she had set up some furniture and some flowers for my girlfriend between two rows of grape vines. My girlfriend thought that we were intruding on someone else's space, so she was surprised she I popped the question right there! Tammy snapped a lot of pictures for us during the occasion and I was grateful that we had some privacy in the middle of the vineyard for the moment. I also learned that Tammy had dragged out her own furniture to the winery the day before to make the moment perfect. After the tasting at the first winery, we had a quiet lunch at a local Italian restaurant which was able to accommodate my girlfriend's gluten- and dairy-aversion. We proceeded to a couple of other great off-the-radar wineries to close out the day, and we bought a total of nine bottles of wine to take home by the time we were done. In between the tours Tammy brought us to lunch which helped invigorate us for the rest of the tour. At the end of the tour, Tammy drove us back to our accommodations. We bought several great bottles of wine and had a great time with Tammy. I was also recovering from ankle surgery while we took the tour and Tammy was so accommodating. She let us store my rental wheelchair in her vehicle while touring. She picked the best places to visit and luckily I didn't need it once. The crutches worked just fine. Communication with Kevin and Mike was easy from the start and any concerns I had were dealt with in a timely manner. Great tour!!! The…read moreonly hiccup was the bus was unmarked and not parked in front of McDonalds as described on the website/email instructions. I had just explained to my son the importance of arriving early because arriving on time makes you late(he wondered why we left the hotel early though we were only a couple of blocks away from McDonalds.) The unmarked bus was parked across the street in front of the Paramount building. We were in line for a different tour who was parked in front McDonalds who informed us that we were in line for the wrong tour and pointed to the unmarked bus. We still arrived on time. I then explained to my son that situations like this is why you arrive early. I had a ton of missed calls and was contacted by email but a sign of some sort would've helped(a magnetic sign on the driver and passenger doors, or a foldable sign that can be transported on the bus) as I noticed the bus from across the street(the same side as Applebees and Ellen's Stardust Diner) but had no way of identifying it.
