in 2024 i requested Modern Pests services to help with bats in my attic. they responded well and…read moreinstalled 1 way bat traps on my roof. the issue came with the removal. i would check the portal to see removal services scheduled only to find no one came out or there was snow on my roof and couldn't remove the traps (understandable) a year and a half later a tech came out to remove the traps. a few days later my wife asks what is in the front yard? it was the removed bat traps just thrown on my front lawn. when i went to check the roof for the traps there was still a trap in my roof. not only did they not perform the full removal but they left trash on my front lawn. i wrote to modern pest who just quietly scheduled another bat trap removal with the same tech who left trash on my lawn the first time. when i called them directly i wasn't able to speak to a manager on duty at all. No manager contacted me prior to just scheduling another removal even though the report the tech wrote out stated he removed all traps the first time. so clearly they were aware of my issue before scheduling another removal appointment and just never bothered to reach out to apologize or anything.

I have no rodent problems so declined that. Two weeks go by and the bee guy finally shows up. I paid for that service in full at the time, but somehow got myself into a contract. Fast forward to today when they tell me they are coming g to check and repair my rodent traps. I HAVE NO TRAPS. It is costing me $199 to "break my contract" .DO NOT USE.

I believe the "billing" agent, when I was done understood the potential action I would take. I expect no more contact. I would never use again or recommend this company due this.

As soon as the first squirrel took the peanut bait, Rich came right back over (in a snow storm!) to collect the little guy. He repeatedly assured me that he would take him to a nice, safe place, just far enough away so that Mr. Squirrel would not be able to move back into my house. Rich then continued to set traps to catch and release the squirrel family until everyone was accounted for. Finally, once the weather improved he was able to seal the hole in our attic. Chip & Dale will need to find a new clubhouse for their shenanigans this year.

In the past four years I have had THREE different companies come and charge me a good deal of money (i.e. $750.00; $950.00 and $1500.00 respectively) and did not eradicate the problem at all. The first time was three years ago and the squirrels did stay gone for a while but they were back this Thanksgiving when the last two services were employed and did nothing except take my money. Richard Varney did things differently than any of these other companies and that is why he is the best. What he didn't do was just stick a trap up on the roof and expect the squirrels to waltz in it after a few days but no longer than five . . . Both companies said they would seal the holes so there would be no way the squirrels could get back in and both were wrong - they did. Richard came to my house, every day, for over three weeks before he was sure they were out and gone. He trapped the adults but there were still babies. He is the only one I know that put foam in the holes first . . . and then waited to see if it remained or was pushed out - indicating that there was still activity. He built a rest for a trap on the side of the house, because that was where it was needed. He is also the nicest, kindest man I've met in this business. I was devastated when the previous company allowed a trapped squirrel to die of exposure on my roof during a severe rainstorm. I called and asked them to please come and get it before it died, and they said, "All their technicians had gone home" . . . and it died a horrible, slow death. Richard was just the opposite. As soon as I texted him that there was a squirrel in the trap, he was on his way over. He cares about both his clients and the animals he needs to trap. You will get no better than RICHARD VARNEY and ADVANTAGE PEST CONTROL. They were simply the only ones in over three years and four companies that could actually do the job they promised. Left insulation where it was stated they would remove it all, only did 6 inches of insulation when it was supposed to be 12-14 inches. They are coming back to fix it, but it should have been done correctly the first time. On a plus, the mice seem to be gone.
