We cannot thank Robert York and the entire octagon crew enough. they were our angels in disguise and we'll be forever grateful we found them. They unfortunately had to pick up the extensive negligent mess that service master had left us with (due to their negligence and refusal of following protocol for cleaning up black water (fecal throughout two levels of 3100SQFT home) which they falsely advertise that they follow iicrc protocol I can assure you they do not, mold spread throughout the home). Octagon came in months later and they've thankfully given my elder mother life she had lost back. They educated us on iicrc protocols and chemicals and machinery they'd be bringing in the home- answered every call and every email we sent them. They've been: HONEST, reliable, compassionate, thorough, competent, professional , realistic, perfectionists throughout the entire process. Do not make the same mistake my family did- do not go with a company who will deceit your elder mother, lie to your face, not have any care for personal sentimental belongings (damaged $1000s worth of belongings due to negligence) and refuse to follow proper protocol. Octogon is the BEST remediation company there is! I highly recommend them. On June 29, 2015, I experienced "black water" flooding in my home. I initially hired Service Master, who left my home in horrific condition. Mold and asbestos grew like cancer as Service Master neglected to clean or perform complete restoration. I had to get a little bit of mold remediated in the attic space of our cape. Turns out the bathroom vent was to close to the soffit vent and that was causing the issue. Octagon came in with a really fair quote for the work to be completed which made me very happy. Highlights: The project manager was more then helpful to explain the issue when he performed the inspection. The service tech gave us a call before they were arriving so we could plan accordingly (which was nice because we have two dogs). The tech was friendly and took the time to clean his feet as he entered the house. Professional and knowledgeable staff No mess left over once the work was complete. I'm the general contractor for my customer and they said find a better company than the one that started the Mold restoration process. So I asked and people said call Octagon. I'm glad I did. I couldn't continue on the job until the Mold was removed and I got the o.k. from a certified company. I asked for an expedited job so I could keep going, they said they where weeks out. I asked for a special favor and they juggled me in. It was only about a week and they where on it! That is great service. I will recommend them to anyone that needs their services. We contacted Octagon for some carpet cleaning and stain removal. The stains were very strange and we had no idea where they came from. Thought it was worth a shot to se if they could be removed even though we knew there was no guarantee. Tanner came out and cleaned our carpets and worked on the stains for a very long time as luck would have it they did not come out. Tanner tried and tried he was very professional and engaging . Having owned my own company in the past he is the kind of employee you build a company on. Have very clean carpets except for the strange stains not from the lack of effort . Octagon did a fabulous job of remediating a very bad mold problem I had in my basement. I was very impressed with the crew- they listened well, were very friendly, thorough, polite, and kept me abreast of their progress. They cleaned everything. Note that Octagon's fees were half the price of another company I got a quote from who was only going to clean the mold affected areas and NOT the rest of the things in the basement that probably housed mold spores. Highly recommend! Professional and thorough. All mold is completely gone. They taped plastic on the walking areas and did not leave any mess behind. Easy all the way through from estimate, contract signing (electronic via DocuSign) and job completion. They were very clear things could change after they rip the walls apart, but the estimate and time required was accurate.
