I had a very bad experience with this company and don't recommend it to anyone. I ordered my monitor heater to be serviced (as I do every year) at my house while I am away in another state, and my tenants were not home. Door was left open for the company employees to come in and service. The unit only needed to be primed and turned on. Next thing I know they removed my monitor out of my house and left me a voice mail that it's in their shop and it needs to be replaced for a better one, and they have better monitors I can buy from them. My tenants complained that the company employees did not lock the house door when they left and the home was open all day! I was advised to document the incident with the police just in case as it resembled a case of fraud by deception of service. When I called to resolve the issue and inquire about why my unit was removed without my permission, the response I got was rude, and the employee lost his temper and told me "you dont trust our company, we won't deliver you oil or do business with you ever again." I was very calm, but surprised that it was handled this way. Although I was a little worried that the company might have caused damage to the unit while it is in their handling, I accepted the unit back and will have someone else fix it and put it back on my wall. What is really unfortunate about this situation is that I did trust this company, and called them to find a peaceful solution. The way the situation was handled was unprecedented, unprofessional and with very bad buisness etiquette. Most definitely won't use this company again. read more

Oh yeh, These guys are he best in every way possible! They are a family run business that actually treats you like family, doing the right thing first and making fair living secondary. If you want to have a fuel company that treats you right, use Frederick Brothers! Note, I am sad to see some of the negative reviews on this page. Especially the one regarding Downeast Energy as a better supplier. Ask Downeast Energy about all of their extra sur-charges and what exactly they are for. Also try asking them to buy your own propane tank to save about a third on your propane. While you are at it ask them why you have to pay extra for your propane because you are not buying enough even though you buy all of your #2 fuel from them. I'd love to hear how you feel after you hear what they have to say. They basically told me where I could go when I asked these questions. read more

I have been using them for a couple years now for my duplex which has kerosene on one side and propane for the other. My deliveries have been prompt for my kerosene when I call, and no issues with my propane delivery neither which is on auto. I call every year to get my kerosene heater serviced and have been pretty happy with the work and the bill, and the ladies who answer the phone have been super friendly. Thank you!! read more

Do yourself a favor and find another company. Not only are their oil prices way above any other company around but we called to have our furnace serviced and because we had gotten oil from another company one time-they REFUSED to service our furnace. The person on the phone rudely said "Well, if you're going to buy oil from someone else then they can service your furnace." Luckily we figured out the problem on our own anyway, but they have lost our business forever now. The terrible customer service aside, that type of business decision makes zero sense. We were ready to pay them to service our furnace and were completely honest with them about getting oil from a different company. Why would you not take money from a paying customer? read more

DO use this company! I was not familiar with using kerosene in my new home. An employee spent several minutes on the phone with me, explaining how my unit worked, gave me the usage from the previous owner so I would have some idea of what to expect, and ALSO had kerosene delivered that day, as the tank was completely empty!! Of course, I didn't pay any attention to the gauge like I was supposed to, and woke up a month later to a freezing house. Made the call and meekly asked how soon I could get more fuel. Booked an appointment for furnace cleaning and maintenance nearly a month ago. Took a day off from work to avoid any issues with technician being late. An hour before the appointment got a call that due to "unforeseen circumstances" the tech will not be available. The next appointment date was almost a month out. Jeff (I assume the owner) barely apologized over the phone, emphasizing on the fact that there are more important things to take care of. I recommend this company over Downeast any day of the week! since switching to Fredrick Brothers, the customer service has been awesome, they came right out to my residence and gave me several options that were much less expensive than Downeast to help save on energy costs. In the painful process of building, Frederick Brothers was a breath of fresh air! I was notified by my builder around noon today(Friday mind you) that I needed to choose a propane company to set up an account with and get the tanks delivered. I called another company first to see if I could get someone out there by Monday at the latest as we are in serious crunch time to finish the house by the deadline. The soonest they could get to my house was in 10 days (which is the date of our deadline). I declined. I then called Frederick Bros and I'm so happy I did. I dealt with Devin and he was very professional and wanted to do everything he could to get my house set up for service. He was able to get someone out to my house within hours! He was extremely prompt and stuck to his word. I felt like he went the extra mile to take care of what needed to get done in the short amount of time I needed it done.
