Based on that storyline, they're refusing to take responsibility for the flooring damage. The windows were installed without permits. I brought in four independent inspections, including three licensed general contractors and one home inspector. All confirmed active water intrusion and pointed to the window installation as the likely source. Despite that, Forever Builders continues to deny, redirect, and avoid addressing the actual installation. The floors never had water intrusion before the remodel. The problem started after their work. Instead of owning it and fixing it, they've chosen to argue technicalities and wait for CSLB to force the issue. For a company that promotes itself as 5-star, this has been anything but. When serious defects surface, there's no urgency, no accountability, and no effort to stand behind the work. Just excuses. That is not 5-star service. That is not what integrity looks like.

At the time, we were very happy with our kitchen remodel and the overall experience working with Creative Design & Build. The project turned out beautifully, which is why I originally left such a positive review. Over the years, however, I noticed that one section of the flooring felt slightly soft when walking on it. At first, it did not seem serious, so we continued to live with it. Recently, the problem became worse and a section of the floor began to noticeably sink when stepped on and eventually a few edges of the flooring broke. At that point, I became concerned that it could become a safety issue. Because we still had plenty of spare flooring boards left over from the project, I attempted to replace the affected board myself. Unfortunately, I was unable to get the new board to fit correctly due to the locking system, and I could not restore the original board either. I then contacted Creative Design & Build for assistance. One reason I reached out was because our original project manager, Oded, had told us that if we ever had any issues, we should contact the company. I left a voicemail and later received a return call from a staff member. After I explained the situation, she said she would check with management and get back to me. A few days later, I received a text message stating that the warranty had expired and that no repairs would be covered. This was disappointing because I had never been informed that there was a four-year warranty period, nor was I able to find any reference to such a limitation in our contract. When I asked for details regarding the warranty and whether they could recommend someone to repair the issue, I did not receive any further response. There were two other issues relating to electrical and plumbing, however we decided to live with that until we had a major problem we needed fixing. I still appreciate the work that was done on our remodel years ago, and our kitchen remains a space we enjoy. However, I have been disappointed by the lack of follow-up and support when a problem arose. My advice to future customers is to make sure all warranty terms, coverage details, and expiration dates are clearly documented and understood before signing a contract.

From the very beginning, Igor (owner and GC) set the tone for a great experience. He was responsive, punctual, and incredibly easy to work with. Out of all the contractors I reached out to, he was the quickest to reply, provide a quote, and--most importantly--follow through without ever ghosting. What really stood out was how he helped bring my vision to life early on, offering thoughtful design input and walking me through material options at different price points (good, better, best) so I could stay within budget without sacrificing quality. As the project progressed, his level of involvement never dropped. When challenges with the scope came up, Igor personally made the time to meet with me, walk through the situation, and clearly outline the best path forward. Even with a busy schedule, his attention to detail and commitment to high standards were consistently evident throughout the project. What also stood out to me was the team's attention to detail and commitment to quality. Our walls weren't perfectly straight, but instead of cutting corners, the crew took the time to properly float and prep the surfaces with drywall mud so the baseboards would sit clean and flush. That level of care shows in the final product. They also demoed an old closet that had sanitation issues and rebuilt it from scratch in a much better location, completely reframing it and improving both the layout and functionality of the space. On top of that, they finished faster than originally quoted, which was a huge bonus. The crew worked incredibly hard--sometimes late into the evening--to make sure everything was done right. What I appreciated most is that they didn't just stick to the bare minimum scope; if they saw small improvements that could be made, they took care of them without hesitation. During our bathroom remodel, they also went the extra mile to refit the plumbing to meet proper contractor code, which gave me a lot of confidence in the long-term quality and safety of the work. Cesar, the project manager, truly made the experience exceptional. He treats you like family--always responsive, always making time to address concerns, and consistently following up to ensure quality. Even when things got busy, he stayed on top of communication and made sure the right people were brought in when needed. His flexibility and problem-solving really stood out. The crew itself was equally impressive--respectful, professional, and clean. They made sure to tidy up after each day and even took the time to share helpful maintenance tips along the way. We worked with TR Construction between August 2025 and March 2026 (8 mo) on a major interior…read morerenovation spanning multiple trades (structural, trenching, plumbing, electrical, tiling, drywalling, painting, etc.). We did demo, design, and permitting separately, so I can't speak to those aspects, but I believe TR's team can handle all of those internally as well if desired. Overall, I'll start by saying that TR has assembled a great team of thoughtful, knowledgeable, and thorough folks across all trades. I can see why they've been around for over 20 years. Along with this, cost was extremely reasonable and straight to the point, in contrast with the many other GCs we screened during our initial bidding process. From start to finish TR's team was highly responsive and easy to work with, and in several instances went above and beyond what I thought were our agreed upon expectations. Our finished home turned out very close to how we initially envisioned, with probably any differences being our own changing opinions around certain design choices. If I were to offer a few minor critiques, they would be the following , though I believe these are generalizable to the construction industry in general rather than TR, specifically: 1) Timetables/clear schedules can be an occasional friction point, though our PM, Joshua, Teresa & the rest of the scheduling team did their best to give updates when they could. 2) In general, I would strongly recommend homeowners to have a basic understanding of how different trades work. Throughout our process some hiccups did come up that needed to be pointed out by us. However, TR and team were extremely quick and thorough about rectifying once brought up - which we really appreciated. Overall - would highly recommend TR, his team, and his subcontractors, and I'm sure we will be working with them again in the future.

We had clear communication the entire time on the scope and best options for each of the improvements we were looking for. Far and away, we were most impressed by how fast and efficient the Seven Home team was. They were able to coordinate really smartly between all the different trades so every day really was maximized to the best degree. They did a great job on the ceiling abatement, windows, flooring, paint job, new ceiling lights, and a few other random requests we had. I also appreciate that they were flexible with us on our schedule with work and the weekend, as well as adaptable on a change we had wanted for paint. Things looked good for a couple of years and then we noticed that certain parts of the exterior had peeling paint. We have 25 year warranty so first contacted the company in 2019. We got the run around and nobody came. It is now 6 years later and they still have not honored the warranty. I called the company several times and I was referred to Eric. Eric has gone MIA and would not respond to my texts and call. He keeps on promising to send inspectors but no one has come by. We will be filing a small claims suit to make sure they are accountable to their warranty.

There was also a moment where we pushed back on the slab count and rather than brushing us off, they looped in the right people to work it through with us. That's just good business. What really stands out though is the design thoughtfulness. They respected our very specific taste while also gently steering us toward choices we'd love long-term.
