Staff was amazing. Aside from a few sandy, bare spots on the greens, it was a very pretty course. Lost of elevated greens which was fun. However, if your a long hitter, this course will disappoint. Paid around $70 each to have what was supposed to be a fun birthday round completely ruined by some of the rudest and most annoying golf course staff I've ever dealt with. I have genuinely NEVER experienced anything like this at a golf course. We had six people and specifically booked two tee times with three people each. We called ahead, explained everything, and they knew our plan. Yet from the second we got to the first tee, one of the male employees stood there staring at us, questioning everything we were doing, and treating us like we were already a problem. He complained about our coolers, so we complied. Meanwhile, the group directly behind us had a cooler sitting completely out in the open and he said nothing to them. Then when I went to get drinks, this guy accused us of "plotting and scheming" and even started trying to tell me how to back up and turn a golf cart like I'm not a grown man who knows how to drive. Just unbelievably rude, annoying, and clearly looking for something to complain about. We then let two faster groups play through and had nobody waiting behind us. We weren't holding anyone up. Still, they messaged our carts telling us to split up. I took a photo of it because I thought it was so ridiculous and funny. These losers have nothing better to do but sit in the clubhouse and track our every move. Then another male employee drove out onto the course and immediately came at us with a terrible attitude before we had even said anything to him. We tried to be nice but he quickly made it a hostile argument. He threatened to LOCK OUR CARTS if we continued playing together and literally told us that a different course was where we "needed to be." This is what sent me over the edge. Then, instead of leaving, he stood there watching us tee off on the next hole. At that point it was honestly ridiculous. We paid $70 each to play golf, not to be followed around and treated like a group of criminals. I understand golf courses have rules. What I don't understand is the hostility, selective enforcement, smart comments, threats, staring us down, and treating paying customers like they're a problem from the second they arrive. And the course itself? Extremely mediocre for $70. Take away the mountain views and there is absolutely nothing special enough to justify that price. The woman up front and cart return guy were nice, but the two male employees completely ruined the experience. Awful customer service, overpriced mediocre golf, and easily the worst experience I've ever had at a golf course. Should've spent our $70 somewhere else. According to their own employee, that's where we "needed to be" anyway. read more

I have played Whitepath several times, but this time was not good. The greens were areated which happens this time of year so that was not a problem. The tee boxes were almost bare of grass. Many of the fairways were bare as well. There is construction on the club house, so money is being spent, but not on the course. At $50 per person this was not a good deal, should have been $20 at the most. read more

You never know what your going to get at these isolated golf courses. But this place really impressed me. Starting with the green fees of about $36. With rates that reasonable, again you don't know what to expect. From the tips it plays 6400. This course is beautiful! Just about every tee box is elevated to some degree. The course and especially the greens were in great condition. Wildlife was everywhere as we saw at least 10 deer at very close range. Accuracy is at a premium here so bring a few extra balls! This place even had good rental clubs! read more

Whitepath Gold Club is a wonderful little golf course hidden in mountains of Gilmer County. This course is relaxing, private, and enjoyable. On our first visit to Whitepath we saw more turkey and deer than we did people. The fairways are wide and the greens were in good condition. Perfect golf course for me and my friends. read more

The golf course is not in GREAT condition, however, the course is a lot of FUN! For around $30, you can't beat it. Brand new clubhouse as well that compliments the course nicely. Fantastic views of the mountains. Very short course with a lot of par 4's that can be driven if you know where to hit it (blind shots over the side of a mountain). I really like this course and if the greens were kept in good condition, this place would get 5 stars. The course itself should get anywhere from 2-3 stars but because it is so much fun to play, this is why I am ranking it 4 stars. read more

Course is absolutely stunning. Being from Florida my course is very flat, but out here the many many views of creeks, mountains, wildlife, ponds, and beautiful houses. I played as soon as it finished raining for 3 days so parts of the course were holding water, but the greens and fairways were in excellent condition. For the rate they charge being very reasonable I would love to come back anytime to play again. read more

Whitepath is a great public golf course with a private feel. New owner took over it about two years ago and has improved the course greatly. The course is surrounded by beautiful mountains and nature in the Chattahoochee National Forest. The price is very affordable, 35 dollars for 18 holes including a cart (even on weekends). If you want to get away for the weekend or even a night, there's a lodge that has a beautiful view with a huge pool for the summer. If you live in Buckhorn Estates, you can have your own golf cart and can become a member. Hope you enjoy the experience and good luck on number nine! read more

My Wife and I were treated so politely by the staff. The course was so beautiful. We will come back and encourage those that like a challenge and enjoy just being out on such a scenic course. We were not hurried we had a relaxing day we let a faster couple youngsters play through gladly. We came up upon group of members 5 men competing we enjoyed seeing them enjoy their day not caring about time just soaking in the sun the breezes and beauty of this course. I have worked on Doral in the early 80's And many courses Every course is constantly in transition. I loved every moment on this course played May 7th 2021 with a 10:45 am tee time finished 18 holes with my wife in 3 hrs. We were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary Actually on the the 3rd. Save your money. Go pick apples instead. We were asked to wait 15 mins at the turn so they could cut the greens and then had to wait for them to turn the sprinklers off on every green on the back. read more

This place is an absolute dump. I've been around this course all my life living in Ellijay. The county took it back over after wanting an absurd amount of money to lease the course to someone who knew what they were doing. The fees are astronomical for such a dog track. So save your money.
