We received quotes ranging from $1,500 to $4,000 from other roofers and assumed we'd be paying out of pocket. Instead of trying to sell us a repair, Carol suggested we contact Velux directly, as she thought the skylight might still be under warranty. She was absolutely right. Velux confirmed that the skylight is covered and will inspect and repair it under warranty. Carol's honesty, knowledge, and willingness to point us in the right direction saved us thousands of dollars. The service itself was fine and the pricing was fair enough hence the 2 stars…read more However, as one other recent reviewer also flagged, the billing and invoice payment experience was so negative it motivated me to write this review. Our estimator gave me incorrect information in developing our contract, telling me our downspouts including the downspout attachments that went underground, would be fully cleaned out during our service. When they did not clean the downspout attachments, they told me they don't do underground attachments even though the estimator told me this was included in our pricing. I paid the majority of our bill, leaving about $230 balance while I disputed the unfinished work. Eight months ago, I sent an email that was never responded to and never heard from the company again. Then yesterday when their legal department called me out of the blue to threaten to send me to collections over the unpaid balance. I replied immediately to explain the situation and their response was to say if the balance wasn't paid by the end of the day it would be sent to collections. They alleged they had called and emailed about the outstanding invoice (they hadn't - I went through my emails, spam and my phone and found no evidence of any attempts on their end to contact me). I was shocked that they took such an aggressive, threatening approach to a customer who a) they dropped the ball with and b) who was actively in good faith trying to resolve the dispute immediately once they brought it to my attention. We had a misunderstanding about the scope of work - I would have appreciated some acknowledgement or apology on their end vs. them dropping the ball completely then coming back out of nowhere to threaten me with collections. Just not a good way to do business and I am left with a very sour taste from dealing with the legal threats.

We figured out that in addition to a gutter cleaning (it had been 15 years!), the gutter was put on incorrectly, and he was able to correct the angle so that water would drain into the downspout and not waterfall over the end of the gutter. I'm so glad I connected with this company through the Yelp Project feature. Agreeing upon what I thought was a reasonable estimate, I was able to have two skilled workers come over within my desired timeframe and finished the work within two hours. Not only did they clean the gutters, but they: -- Removed errant branches from my rooftop. -- Replaced the lost guard cover of a section of the gutter. -- Repaired the a ventilation pipe that was sometimes letting rain in above the kitchen. The workers proactively elicited my feedback throughout the job and completed all this within the initial cost estimate. I thought it would take a lot longer, but they managed to be efficient and thorough. Saber Roofing did an excellent job!  Ryan explained my roof-tile options and had great links to what they look like on real houses through his website.His site also provided information about the roofing process and materials. I waited for his service through winter rain & my own scheduling limitations, and it was more than worth the wait. Ryan's crew were professional, kept the site clean, repaired some rot of my 26-yr-old roof, installing new roof vents that only his company had recommended for safety & energy savings. I had asked for certain areas to be sealed well, preventing any  "creatures' " entrance that he'd agreed needed to be professionally corrected, which his crew did very thoroughly.  Ryan was available throughout the process and got back to me immediately with any questions I had. The contract added the plywood replacement  for the rotted areas, all clearly noted and within the price frame in the contract for unknown rot once the old roof was removed. I contacted several roofing and gutter companies to get estimates for a few projects. I am very…read morehappy that I chose Saber Roofing for plenty of reasons. 1) The owner, Ryan, met with me to discuss the work and was very thorough and helpful in answering all my questions. 2) Important details were covered including adding a rain chain in a location where a downspout would have been unsightly (picture attached). Among the details, the rain chain is made of copper while the gutter is made of aluminum. Having these two metals come in contact could compromise the aluminum over time. So, Saber installed the copper rain chain with a protective barrier. 3) Their client service and sales director, Jake, was super helpful and extremely responsive to all my questions. 4) The crew was very efficient, provided high quality workmanship, and left the site spotless. 5) The gutter guards that were installed provide a really fine barrier to prevent even small debris from entering my gutters, but are easy to rinse so that fine particles can be washed through the gutters. 6) The two downspouts that were installed were matched to the color of our trim. Other companies offer limited colors or simply white downspouts, but Saber offers a wide variety. 7) Their pricing is very competitive. From end to end, this was a great experience and I highly recommend Saber Roofing.
