If you would have told me 5 years ago I'd be staying overnight at a Bass Pro, I would not have believed you. Life is funny that way. I travel a lot for work, so hubs and I compromised on a "staycation" for New Years. Since I had a rather large credit from hotels.com and the Peabody was booked, we figured, why not?! Big Cypress Lodge surpassed our expectations. The room was gorgeous with a beautiful bathroom, a fun deck overlooking the store and thoughtful furnishings. Toiletries were also nice and the shower was one of the best I've taken-great rain shower head, perfect pressure, etc. The bed was also super comfy and cozy. The reason this hotel gets 5 stars instead of 4 is the thoughtful touches and the service. From a free shuttle to Mississippi Mud Cookie delivery at night to a great snack basket, to the valet leaving extra bottled water in our car, they've thought of everything. Husband's 1 gripe was that the bar didn't reflect drink prices accurately (i.e a drink listed for $10 was actually $13), but that seems minor in the scheme of things. I am as surprised as anyone that I enjoyed staying here so much. I am not a sportsman at all, neither is my husband. I've never shot a gun successfully (long story), and my idea of fishing is catch and release with my $9.99 Fishin' Pal pole from Academy Sports years ago. This hotel is VERY well done. The decor, the furnishings, the extra touches... all exceptional. We stayed in a 2 BR treehouse with my brother and family, but most of what I enjoyed would have been the same from any room facing the interior. Every room has a fireplace, and cozy rugs, and dark leather furniture, and a custom created furniture piece that houses the fireplace, TV, closet, and bar/frig unit. The beds are log, and have crazy branches for the headboard. In our room, the branch extended way over the bed and I thought hubby was lose an eye overnight, but it's just perfectly situated that you think you'll hit it, but you don't. Caveat: if you jumped on the bed, yes, you would be injured. Brother's room with two double beds had one mostly normal log headboard, and one with a slightly less crazy branch coming out. The light fixtures throughout are antlers, and the bathrooms are great. Huge oversize soaker jet tubs with a remote for the jets and LED lights overhead, large glass showers with shower wands. The bathroom vanity is lined with shotgun shells, and in the toilet area the metal shack feeling walls had a "bullet hole." Really well done. Our rooms had a porch that overlooked the store, and the welcome basket of snacks is the nicest one I've ever seen. The complimentary bottled waters are in the frig and cold, and have that sport top where you can easily seal it back if needed. And S'mores cookies show up at bedtime. Our porch had two rockers and a tree stump coffee table with a table and four chairs... the perfect spot to play games. If you're in a normal room, I imagine your screen porch has a slightly smaller version of the same. If you are an overnight guest, they give you a voucher to take the elevator up to the summit overlook in the center of the pyramid and check out the views. I would recommend getting a drink up there and appetizers, but come back downstairs for dinner. The Bass Pro Shop store has tons to see and do, and trust me, you will find it interesting even if you are like me and do not camp, hunt, fish, or otherwise involve dirt in your life. We didn't get a chance to go bowling at The Fish Bowl downstairs, but we will back and do that then. The tree house for one night the day after Christmas was $420 and by the time you add in all the fees it was closer to $530... but hotels always get hit with all the taxes, etc. So divided by two, it wasn't that expensive at all for a really unique quick trip. My only negative, which wasn't negative enough for me not to give them five stars, would be the bed was a little spongy soft for me, and the mattress is just far enough inside the bed frame, you have to put your foot on the log side board to launch yourself in. Not a big deal. Brother's room could have used a bit more seating in the room itself, not going onto the porch he only had one leather chair, we had a sofa in ours. read more

Wow! What a great hotel. We booked a room in The Fly Fishing Cabin and it was amazing! Slept 4 comfortably, huge balcony, big bathroom. My number One complaint regarding the room would be the tiny bathroom upstairs needs a much brighter light. We also ordered room service- VERY expensive and food was not good :( would not recommend or do that again. Also you have to pay for valet. Only way to park here and the young man who helped us was in fact no help at all and seemed more worried about his phone. This was not a great start considering he's the first one you come in to contact with when you pull up. But, that all change when we met "Jeff" the bellhop. He was a delight. Chatted with us and showed us to our room and all the amenities our room had to offer. What an awesome man. He needs a raise. Def planning a trip back to this hotel and is now my favorite hotel in Memphis!! read more

The room and scenery were great. Check-in was beyond a disaster. We arrived early and the room had not been prepared yet so my family and I decided to look around and have dinner up on the lookout. The girl at the desk took our information and said she'd "call" us when the room was ready. Hours passed by and no call. We made our way back to the check-in desk after a way over-priced meal that we had and had to wait an hour for because the chefs in the lookout were standing around talking instead of cooking. This irritated the entire waitstaff, but nobody seemed to want to do anything about it. We also had to deal with people taking selfies and photos of the fish tank or surrounding scenery. Next we find out that our room was never prepared and was in fact given to someone else who had no reservation. The lady helping us was about to break down and the other ladies at the desk didn't really lift a finger to help her get the situation straight. After over an hour, she got us into another room which was not an ADA room. This made the situation even worse for us but we dealt with it since it was only one night. We had reserved the ADA room several months ago so that part was even more salt into the wound. An hour later after we went up to the room, there was a knock on the door and another family outside trying to get into the room. Apparently they had reserved that room and got bumped to put us into that room. When I called the front desk to let them know, I was told, that "it happens all the time". The room was okay, but the teenagers making loud noises to echo really put even more of a dampener on the experience. My wife received a text message asking for a rating of the experience and she replied with a 2 or 3 rating. To this there was no reply. Later she got an email asking the same thing. She replied the same and this time we received a call from Rachel Blackwell, the operations manager. My wife was too upset to speak at this point about it and I talked with Ms. Blackwell. When I told her that the entire experience was horrible and why, she did offer to refund our money. I got off the phone with a feeling that she didn't really care. I was refunded money over a week later, but not the dollar amount I originally paid. I was shorted $200. I have tried SEVERAL times and left SEVERAL messages to get this resolved but nobody will respond. I guess they feel they've done enough even though they said they would refund ALL of my money. Overall, a great looking place but WAY too overpriced from the rooms to the drink machines that charge $99.95 for a 12oz can of soda, to mismanaging reservations, to the POOR staff managing the place! read more

I visited the lodge on July 4th. When I arrived the paring attendants were wonderful. As I checked into the hotel the staff wanted a credit card for incidentals. They held several hundred dollars on my card. When I checked out they told me the money was held to complete payment. I paid the complete invoice when I made my reservations. While I was there I noticed several things that were very concerning. The room was dirty. There was open chocolate candy on the floor. Trash in the can and on the floor. There was a wasp nest on the balcony. They did come spray it. However they did not move the furniture. The poison was on them and could not be used. I WILL NEVER STAY AT ANY OF THESE HOTELS AGAIN!! read more

Nice lodge. Very nice rooms. Pros: nice room, quaint atmosphere with porch attached to room, Cons: long walk to rooms, only two entrances then you have to walk around pyramid to your room. NO coffee shop anywhere near for early morning, service not quite up to par, never received cleaning service for 2 nights. Had to call for more in room coffee supplies: they just brought coffee pods-no cups or creamer or anything else. Everyone was nice, they just need to up their service game for the price! read more

The stay got off to a rocky start, Upon arrival the valet didn't really show any initiative on helping us out, we had to unload our own bags, from there we went in to check in. This is when it got interesting, the lady said she had our reservations but it was not entered into the computer correctly so someone else was given our room. Then the manager came out and he was looking at it, he initially told us it was our fault for booking thru booking.com even though he had a copy of our reservation in his hands. Long story short they were able to find us a room, we had to change rooms during our stay, which was inconvenient. However, the lady at the front desk and the manager were both very friendly and did the best they could to help us out. The rooms themself were amazing! Some of the nicest rooms we have stayed in. One final note , I'm not sure if they stop running the valet after a certain time, but most nights we got in after midnight, and valet was never there nor would someone come out when you ring the bell, so we had to park the car ourself every time after our initial check in. read more

If you are a business traveler, this hotel is not for you. Just one functioning restaurant in a location visited by thousand each day. No coffee service before 8:00 a.m., and that was not even open this morning. The coffee in the room is crap, of course. In fairness, this hotel is obviously not coping well with the COVID-19 impacts. But then, so many other hotels are coping just fine that it's hard to allow much sympathy on that count. The rooms are very nice, and extremely well furnished, though. The bathroom shower is the best I've ever seen in a hotel in any country. Really first rate. Plus, if you're a hunter or outdoorsman - or kid - this can be great fun for a family trip. It is also conveniently located. So, not for business travel in any way, shape or form, but good for a family trip. 3 stars is the best I can do. read more

Incredibly unique place to stay. Hotel is located inside the Bass Pro Shop at the Pyramid. Quick friendly check in process. The front desk attendant explained all amenities and answered any questions we had. Our room was inside facing, we had a spacious balcony with rocking chairs and a four-person dining table that overlooked the store. There was a comfy king bed, and we especially loved how good the pillows were. The bathroom had a separate tub and shower with a separate room for the toilet. We planned an anniversary weekend here and it was different. The hotel is in the Big Bass Shop. Very cool. Big ponds with catfish and all kinds of merchandise for sale from guns to ATV's. They have a fudge shop also. The Big Bass Store has a lot to offer from bowling to a gun range. They have a couple restaurants. We ate at The Lookout. Separate review for that meal. Our room was on the second floor and it was like a lodge. We had a king size bed and hot tub with glass shower and separate toilet room. It also had a balcony overlooking the Big Bass Store. It was an interior room so we had no natural sunlight. It was very dark at night. The mattress was comfortable and the pillows were plump. The hotel offers a shuttle within 5 miles of the hotel. This was a good feature. Only issue is after 9pm there is not much to do at the hotel. They close the front at 10pm. Only suggestion would be a bar located on main level. Beautiful and amazing hotel! I was a little skeptical when I was told by my husband that we were going to stay in a pyramid shaped hotel that surround a Bass Pro Shop but the stay ended up being one of the nicest experiences we have ever had at a hotel! The rooms were beautifully decorated in a woodland theme each with a balcony. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We liked the fact that the hotel had a shuttle to Beale Street. Our driver, Jonathan (?), was so nice and made sure we knew exactly where he would pick us up on our return to the hotel. The view from the restaurant at top of the pyramid was beautiful! My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights to just get away for the weekend. It was amazing! We did not encounter a single rude person. Emanii (hope I spelled that correct) at the front desk was so professional, helpful, and polite. Everyone we would pass in the hall would speak, and ask if we needed anything. The rooms are spacious, with big rockers on the patio overlooking the store. The air tub felt sooo good. Huge shower. Usually in a hotel internet is poor but, ours was great. We has supper at the Fish Bowl our first ight. We had to sit at the bar b/c someone had booked an event. I think our server's name was James. He was great. Our food order was wrong and they forgot the salad so we had to have them taken off of the bill. Even though our order was wrong the taste was good, I was starving and didn't want to send it back and wait another 30 minutes. We had breakfast two mornings in the Fish Bowl (that's the only place to get breakfast in hotel). Both mornings, it was great! One morning we had Willie as our server. He was amazing you could tell he loved his job. Next morning, we had Rashun. She was also amazing. We had so much fun with those two and some of the other ladies that worked there. The bacon here is so yummy. However, they need to expand the menus options. And even though it taste good, it's overpriced. Then, there's the Scott and Jeffrey that works in concierge service. Both of these men know the Memphis area and are so helpful with information. Both so sweet, kind and helpful. They can drive you where you need to go within a certain radius, thank goodness, I'd get lost. Scott also can make a mean pot of coffee up on the third floor :) There's a bar on the third floor lobby area, I sure wish they'd put it to use. There was us and literally three other couples looking for beer Saturday night. There was someone there Friday night and she said she'd be there Saturday as well but no one was. And valet is great too. They are respectful, helpful and super fast. I didn't get their names because they are all running around each other, but they were all great. We met several people there. We had a lot of fun. Our only regret is I think we picked the hottest weekend of the year to go...man it was hot. We look forward to going back. Hopefully the bridge will be open, the monorail will be running and mud island will be remodeled. read more

I thought I was going to die here. I know that sounds strange but you have to hear the whole story. We are traveling on our family 2017 road trip. We decided to stop in Memphis and my husband thought the idea of staying inside a bass pro shop inside of a pyramid was cool. I thought it was ridiculous and funny and went along with it. We had a long day and went to bed at 11:00 pm. At 1:00 am this bright light begins to flash in our room waking me up. What is going on? Im disoriented and confused. A moment later the deafening alarm begins to sound. Then an electronic sounding voice speaks loud and clear "this is an emergency, evacuate the building." I'm up and out of bed and frantically searching for my shoes. I throw a robe over my night gown. My husband is putting on a shirt and shoes and we are telling the girls to move quickly. We need to leave now. My daughter (13) is up and running around the room in a panic searching for her shoes. My niece (9) is frozen to her spot, terrified. I couldn't understand why she wouldn't move. I screamed at her to get up. This made things worse. A couple minutes later she snapped out of it and was also rushing to leave the room. I grabbed my wedding ring and phone off the nightstand. My husband took the money and we ran. We found the emergency exit and hurried down the stairs. My legs were like jello and I couldn't move as quickly as I wanted to. My heart was pounding so hard I heard it in my ears. What happened? A fire? A terrorist attack? Is the front of the hotel in flames? Has anyone died? My mind is going a million miles a minute. We were on the third floor so thankfully we reached the bottom quickly. We kept moving until we were a safe distance from the building. We stopped and looked back and relief washed over me as I realized we were all safe. We made it. We were in the rear of the building and no one else was around. We heard fire truck sirens heading closer to us and began to walk to the front of the building. As soon as we reached the main entrance we find all the hotel guests outside. In pajamas, robes, some without shoes. No one knew what had happened. We waited. I'm hoping we are a safe distance from the building and feel humiliated by my appearance. Around 20 or 30 minutes later the alarm stops. The firemen exit the building and a police officer tells us it is safe to enter the building. As we enter I ask "was there a fire?" He tells me "no, it was a water line issue." What?!? We head quickly towards the 2 elevators that now need to take every hotel guest up to their floors. The next morning I half expected some kind of explanation as to what happened. Maybe a note under the door or a phone call from the front desk saying, "hey, I'm sorry about your inconvenience last night. (what I thought would be me and my family's certain death) This is what happened..." But no. There was no mention of the event. It was like it had never happened. A few important things I learned from this experience. When staying at a hotel: 1. Always know where your emergency exits are. 2. Keep your most valuable possessions and shoes next to your bed at night. 3. Stay on a lower floor to increase your chances of being able to escape the building. Why 3 stars? The room was beautiful and the experience was far more luxurious than my expectations. The bathroom had an amazing tub and shower. (Similar to a suite at the hard rock) I had a fantastic massage at the spa and the staff was great. We had fun bowling and browsing the store. Oh the food is terrible, don't eat there. Since the food was bad we ventured to a few different places all of which were fantastic. Flight for a fancy dinner, Brother Junipers for the best breakfast of my life and Blue's City Cafe for some amazing BBQ. That experience I'm sure I will never forget. Maybe one day it will save my life. Management should have addressed it with the guests. That's it! See below for a separate review of the spa. Spa Review: This review is only based on my spa experience. When you walk in you are greeted by a lovely woman at the front desk. She explained all the services and gave me a tour. It's a small spa so that only took a couple of minutes. I decided on the big cypress relaxation massage with aromatherapy. I was offered a delicious glass of wine while I filled out the form. My message therapist was Rainy. If you go ask for her. She was amazing! It was one of the best massages I have ever had. I never felt like she was rushing and her technique was magnificent. The lavender scent I chose was the icing on the cake. I left feeling loose, relaxed and lighter. I would recommend this treatment to any woman who needs a little break from her family while on vacation. You will not regret it. read more

The theming is great here - on par with Disney. The prices are on par with Disney too, but the similarities end there because the service and amenities are not on par with Disney which amounts to a frustrating experience in the end. So many things weren't working and were shrugged off (half the bowling lanes were completely not functional and the rest were only partially working, the app used to call the valet service didn't work and we stood and waited for our car for 20 mins and missed the Peabody ducks, room cards stopped working suddenly before checkout time so that we could not get into the room to retrieve our items even after multiple trips to the front desk, the line for the elevator to the top was operated by someone covering who didn't know the job and it became an atmosphere of panic and stress from a long line of people waiting, store opening and closing times provided at check in were incorrect leading to us walking through the store at closed times and being scolded, I reserved two rooms for my husband and three small children and we were assigned two rooms on opposite sides of the resort in spite of reserving well in advance and being required to enter all of the children's ages). The food is on par with usual wahlburger's (ranging from mediocre to worse), but extremely expensive and slow. We waited 45 min for simple breakfast foods as one of only three tables in the restaurants and some of our food was inedibly undercooked. Our dinner meal for three adults and three kids was well over $200 for simple items, yet they forgot sides and had to be reminded several times, provided the flimsiest plastic silverware in wrappers, and the food was fast food quality at best. They bus the tables right in front of you, bringing around a cart of all of the patrons' combined slop and sloshing your food into it tableside. The rooms are nicely appointed, and the interior facing balconies are a cool "night at the museum" type experience, but it was difficult to sleep while a drunk patron used the third floor lobby to enjoy the echo of his animal noises for thirty mins after ten pm, and then difficult to wake up as there was no natural light to be had. Glad we checked this out, but we won't be back due to the high prices and frustrating experience for the cost. read more

This weekend I stayed at Big Cypress Lodge, and I was very disappointed in this hotel. I had a junior suite in room 330 the heat did not work. I called the front desk four times, I had to go to the other side and sleep om the floor in 329 the other side of the suite. In room 329 the tub was not clean. I called the hotel to speak with management I got a voice mail, and no one has returned my call. read more

This is a very nice hotel. Very generous sized rooms with a lot of space. Bathrooms are huge with a nice hot tub and separate shower. Like the private toilet. More places should adopt this. It was very clean, and the staff was super. The only issue is if you want to eat, I suggest you go outside the pyramid. Uncle Bucks is about the worst place I have dined at. The lookout is nice, but the price is much higher. P.S. Dear Johnny Morris, Please rethink the Uncle Bucks restaurant. Probably the worst restaurant in Memphis. read more

Don't Make The Same Mistake As Us...~Book another hotel! Upon arrival we were told they did not have the room we booked, but that they would give us a free "upgrade" to a suite. I had a horrible headache and desperately wanted to lay down so we said that would be just fine. Well, the "upgrade" was actually a downgrade because when we got to the room we realized that there was no indoor balcony like the room we had booked. Only french doors that opened to a shared outside space. The whole reason I had booked this "resort stay" was to sit inside on the balcony overlooking the store and be able to people watch. (It was 100 degrees outside, so sitting outside would have been a no-go.) I hate complaining though and thought if this is the worst of it, I can manage. Unfortunately, it wasn't the worst of it. We encountered many little inconveniences over the stay including no tv remote, called down, said one would be brought, waited for an hour, nothing....so finally asked a housekeeper to fetch us one and we left to check out downtown. We took a shuttle to Beale Street and when we called to return we were told the shuttle would be back in 15 minutes. We waited 35 minutes in 100 degree weather. We couldn't go inside anywhere either to wait, for fear we'd miss the driver. When he arrived my husband asked if he had been busy that evening and he said no. So not sure why we had to wait so long. Then we get back to the resort and went to Wahlburgers to eat. We went to the hostess stand and was told it would be 15-20 minutes and that we should walk around and come back then. I asked the guy and girl if they needed my name as another family was in line behind us also wanting a table and they said no, it wouldn't be necessary. Our family proceeds to walk around and shop, we came back in about 15. My husband went up to the hostess stand (now there are the original two employees and another one) and the newest employee states it will be an hour and asks if we want to leave a name! My husband told him that we were told it would only be 15-20 and that we had already waited and that we we were told we did not need to leave a name. The guy asked rudely, who told you that? and my husband pointed at the employee who said that. The girl then said, "Well, we didn't know we were going to get so many people." Well, what in the world did that matter. They were EXTREMELY rude. So I told my husband to forget it. I went upstairs and ended up ordering room service and having to pay the fee just so I could eat. Other minor things that affected our stay: french doors didn't want to shut all the way and could be accessed by other suites which was a major safety threat, hairs in shower, dirty towel under the sink, "treats" were stale as other guests mention in their reviews, room wasn't the cleanest...overall this is a hotel that is worth about one third of what they are charging. I honestly have stayed in several Drury Inn's and Hamptons/Hiltons that were way cleaner, more modern, better amenities. In the last month we've stayed at 6 other hotels and one airbnb...this was definitely the worst of the worst. Save your money and book an airbnb. I was really hoping I'd love this property as I've always wanted to stay at Big Cedar Lodge and was thinking that would be a fun upcoming stay, but this changed my mind. If you are looking for a hotel that is a pure money grab...paying a "resort fee" on top of the already expensive rates and paying for a valet, etc. this place is for you. read more

3 days and 2 nights.Worst service ever! Ive stayed in hundreds of hotels over the years and I could not believe how bad the staff was. If i wasted time teliing the stories...you wouldn't believe it. Not one service from the bar or restaurants was correct. No apologies...just shruggs and a f-u look. Seriously...it was so bad we were thinking it must be a joke. Nope. No one cared to perform their jobs in any kind of professional manor. The only decent thing was the nice cold room. Their air conditioner actually worked. The beds were good and decor nice. But having to hear the conversations of our neighbors was weird. It was like they were in our room. Spending 600 bucks just for accomodations (not including food and drink) was a travesty. I booked the Interior King room for my best friend's honeymoon. Her and her husband loves the room. I had called the reservation line and was told the whole hotel was booked. So I looked online and there were multiple room available. I booked it. My friends showed up and the staff "couldn't find the reservation" . Eventually they found it and informed them that they would have to provide a $100 deposit, I have already been charged the room fee. This was not stated anywhere in the deposit policy. My friends finally get to their room and it turns out they were given the wrong room, none of the amenities that were listed were available. After the staff had waisted over an hour of everyone's time, they had finally given them the correct room and had given my friends an extra 30 minute's for check out. If you enjoy being blatantly lied too and given poor service this is the hotel for you. read more

I stayed at this hotel when I was moving to Illinois. I had forgotten my new AirPods Pro on the bed and when I left, I called them to see if anyone had reported them found and they didn't. I told them the exact location room and time. They never called me back with a response. They said they would talk to the workers but nothing. I don't trust their room service, i spent four months trying to get a response and to this day they still haven't called. What a fun hotel! My fiance stayed a night in Memphis on our way to the east coast. And we thought it would be fun to stay at the pyramid. We had no idea what to expect. But damn big cypress lodge is pretty dang cool. Our room was massive with a huge bed, complimentary snacks and a massive shower and tub. Easily the most roomy place we'e ever stayed. You even have a patio to look down on all of the craziness of the Bass Pro Shop. We toured to the top to get the awesome views and walked around the store marveling at the various animals (birds, fish, and gators!). Located downtown its a quick uber rider to Beale street or anywhere downtown. I highly recommend people stay at Big Cyress Lodge, especially if they want to try something unique or cool. Their rooms are themed with some of them looking like cabins or treehouses. read more

The hotel room was amazing. Great beds, great bathroom, and so clean. We had an interior room with a porch balcony view of the Bass Pro Shop. The interior room is totally worth the extra money. We ordered breakfast room service and enjoyed it on the balcony. The rooms are dark but it's part of the atmosphere so it was fine. We visited the glass elevator and the Lookout twice since the tickets are included with your hotel stay...once during the day and once at night to see the Mississippi Bridge lights. We also did the pistol range, Mississippi Terrace, shopping, family game room/lobby bar on the 3rd floor, and Uncle Bucks for two meals. We didn't have time to bowl but that looked like fun. I definitely recommend putting this place on your bucket list for a quick weekend getaway. read more

The hotel itself was nice however everything else around it sucked. Staff were friendly and the rooms were clean and very nice. Don't get sucked in to the anniversary package. $75 for 1 small personal size $5 Bundt cake and cheap champagne. read more

Wow! I can't say enough about this place. The welcome was so warm from DeWayne. He rules! The rooms are luxurious, the oversized jetted tub and rainfall shower make you feel like you're at a spa, and the complimentary snacks, water, and treats were really the extra touch! We loved the view from the top of the pyramid, and the location was excellent. Free valet, too! Everyone is so friendly here and the room is one of the nicest I've ever stayed in. The place is absolutely beautiful ... we came to stay for one night, to have a steak dinner in the Lookout steakhouse at the top of the pyramid and see the views. We had 7pm reservation and when we sat down to we were told the only steak they had available was the $89 ribeye. We then chose to eat downstairs at the new Wahlburgers. Not good! After the dinner we retired to our suite to find out the Air Conditioning was out in our room and we were only offered a box fan and told it was the whole hotel and that the controls were off site. Then temp in the room climbed above 75 overnight. Not comfortable for sleep. The next morning at checkout we discovered that was not the case and it was just our room that was not working and there were other rooms available that we could have been moved to. The customer service needs some improvement. In the end they did refund the price of our room but I would have much rather had a comfortable nights stay and been able to enjoy the experience more. read more

I was a bit skeptical considering this hotel is located in the Bass Pro Shop and in the former pyramid from my childhood...but it truly was an unforgettable experience! It felt a cool and unique, but also incredibly comfortable. The beds, shower, robes, etc. all made you feel like you were in a very luxurious hotel. I highly recommend! read more

Stayed here one night in a premium room (with a view of the inside). Overall, was somewhat disappointed in the experience given the high price (~$300/night). Below are some of my main gripes with the stay. *Corner rooms have poor views and are cramped -I specifically upgraded to a premium room for the porch and extra room size. I was put in a corner premium room (King) that had an obstructed view of the interior shop due to a column blocking the view. Also the room was small and had a recliner crammed in front of the nightstand (I.e. the standard set of furniture clearly did not fit in this room) *No soap or shampoo in room -Self explanatory. Not a big deal but another negative. Had to call the desk to get shampoo and soap. *Local channels not in HD. -Again, not a huge deal but for $300/night I expected to be able to watch playoff basketball in HD. *HDMI port on room TV didn't work -Yet again, another minor annoyance but for the price you don't expect so many issues. *Room service set food on end table by the door. -At every hotel I've ever ordered room service at, the food is brought in and set up on a table where you can eat it. The room service here left the food on a side table by the door. In summary not a bad hotel by any means. The theming is cool and rooms are nicely decorated. However, the service and attention to detail are far below other hotels in this price bracket. read more

Five stars for the room, amenities, and decor. Two stars for service. This hotel is extraordinary. It's built inside an old event center and centers around a Bass Pro shop. The decor is Oregon lodge with a touch of Mississippi River swamp thrown in and it works. I would love to spend another day looking around to catch more details; the design was so meticulous it reminds me of Disney. Uncle Buck's, the restaurant/bowling alley/bar looks like an underground aquarium and features undulating fiberglass fish interspersed with real aquariums. Elaborate and beautiful. The room was lovely, the porch was a homey feature, and the "fireplace" was very cool. Large bathroom, colorful stained glass door to the mini bar, great beds. But the service. Oh my. No one at valet when we arrived. The bar on the third floor couldn't accept a room charge or an internal charge card, so we had to go get cash to pay for drinks. No one answered for room service so we finally went to get our own food! Yikes. No one answered at valet when we got ready to leave. Such a shame because this place could be five-star if there were a few more staff and they were better-trained. read more

Edit 6/12/20: After being told the manager would be back in this morning last night. Upon my checkout, I I was told again that the manager was out for the weekend and there's nothing they could do. They took down my phone number and said the manager would reach out to me. First, as of 6/11/20, don't come here expecting to see the view from the top of the pyramid. The elevator is closed to due to covid. I was disappointed to see that when I got here, but was willing to look past it. I got to my room and sat on the bed and opened my computer. There was a faint, but definitely blood stain, probably 2x2" space on the comforter. Maybe the maid was in a hurry. I don't know. At this point after paying 270 dollars for the room, it didn't sit right with me. I wanted a refund and to go somewhere else for the night. I asked the receptionist nicely, told her the situation, and she told me there's nothing she could do about a refund. asked for her supervisor and she said he went home for the day and that she couldn't do anything without his permission. At this point i was only checked in for two hours. It was 6:30 pm. Im back in my hotel room now. I'm hoping management will step up tomorrow and make this right. Also, valet was nowhere to be seen. There were other guests also puzzled by this. Someone rang the buzzer for service several times, but no response. Oh, parking is 20 dollars a night, the website calls it "mandatory valet fee". There were no valet drivers during my stay. The parking lot is a large open space with no security cameras . read more

So I felt a tad weird walking luggage/suitcases into a bass pro shop, however the staff was very nice and made checking into the lodge very comforting. Once we got to the room, all I can say is wow. Huge bathroom with a big jacuzzi tub, big shower with a bench and rain type shower head with great pressure and hot water. The decor is a lodge theme throughout the bathroom and sleeping area. Beds and pillows are very comfy and there is a fire place in the room. The hotel gives you 2 free passes to visit the sky deck viewing area so if you can see Memphis and the Mississippi River 280ft above ground. Highly recommend it for anyone. read more
