Although I had already scheduled a night appointment with another company, they beat their price and were literally at my door within 20-30 minutes of the phone call. Not only did they have a better price, but their warranties on both labor and parts were much longer than I had found elsewhere. Entire process to replace the springs took about 15-20 minutes. Things started off well then quickly went downhill. My garage door broke on a Wednesday. John came out that same night and was very nice. He diagnosed the problem, quoted a fair price then said he'd be back the next day to fix it. The next day is when the problems started. John came back Thursday and informed me he misdiagnosed the issue. It happens. I can live with that. But, now I'd have to wait until Friday to get the door fixed. Friday comes and John doesn't fix the door. Saturday comes and now suddenly the price quoted has gone up. John fixes the door and does a good job. He promises to email me a receipt. It has now been weeks and I've contacted John multiple times and he has yet to email me a receipt. He properly diagnosed numerous garage door problems that were soon fixed by my apartment's management. I usually don't write reviews but I had to recommend John because he absolutely saved me when my garage door broke one night last week. I was FREAKING out because I couldn't miss work and for some reason I could NOT pull the door open. I called at least 5 different companies with no answer before a friend recommended him, but I still felt bad because it was seriously 10 o clock at night! He showed up quick and I felt so horrible for calling late but he said he answers his phone anytime day or night, which is super rare with companies these days. Not only did he fix the garage opener, but he noticed that the sensor was malfunctioning which totally freaked me out since I have kids that are always running in and out and it makes me shudder to think about if one of them had been hurt because of it. His price was great, he showed up with a smile, and he went above and beyond what I needed which goes a long way in my book. John, seriously! I can't thank you enough! read more

Three months later, I still have issues with the garage door ( not working )and after multiple calls and messages I am yet to get a call back. I would not use this company. Big D Garage installed two new systems and I immediately started having issues with extreme noise upon opening and closing as well as the safety 'eyes' regularly coming out of alignment. After numerous calls and promises to fix these issues over the course of two months, I finally paid another company to do the repairs. The installer also left grease all over the floor of my garage. My experience was very poor with Big D Garage being a very unreliable and unprofessional company. read more

Broken spring, car stuck in garage. The guy came out quickly and did a great job repairing for $399. Got a little weird when the installer (Not John Robertson) had me write the check to him instead of the company. Waiting for a receipt to show the 2 year warranty via email now. Hope I get it. I originally called "Fort Worth Garage Doors" and they ladies who answer the phone were rude. They carried on conversations with other people while taking my call. From there, they had "Big D Garage Door" company call me to set up and appointment. Initially, things went well and he fixed my garage door spring. Once he put the spring assembly back together and said my garage door was done, I voiced my concerns that the garage door would only go down halfway before coming back up. He told me that it was fine, that it is just the sensors and rubbed them off and left after testing the garage door once. A few weeks later, the garage door busts (the wire comes out of the drum where he wound it) and I gave him a call to set something up. He had someone else call me to charge me $150.00 to repair it because he would be out of town. I said no and would wait for him to come back into town. He returns my call (after a few calls to him with no luck) and explains to me that I would have to pay the service fees and parts and labor (Treating this as a new repair). I told him that this was in reference to his previous work and that I would even meet him halfway with labor if he would come out and he agreed. He blew me off multiple days (with no call or text) and when I voiced my opinion about missing work and such, he used improper language and explained that for someone who doesn't use my garage a whole lot, I sure do complain a lot about it. I just spent $300 with them and my garage door is still broken, of course I'm upset about it. After all is said and done, he told me to get out my checkbook because, he would not be coming out to help me. This is THE WORST SERVICE I have ever received by any contractor.
