On the inside of the Big Daddy's shop are a bunch of placards of awards they have won for their ice cream. When I ate their ice cream, I understood the awards. This is a different style of ice cream- it's very rich, and thick, and doesn't taste quite like any other ice cream I've had. The ice cream is extremely flavorful - the black raspberry really tastes like black raspberries, the coffee ice cream really tastes like coffee - and it's delicious. If you're an ice cream fan, you have to try this place out. Big daddy's definitely means big scoops of ice cream. Seriously the kiddie cups we got were huge I can't even imagine what an adult one would be. Me on zepbound, my mom with her stomach surgery, and my 6 year old yeah kiddie cups are good enough lol. My mom ended up splitting some with my son who could probably eat pints if we let him. I ended up saving rest of mine to give my son the next night :) It was that much! This place was awesome, right next to our motel too. My mom's bf was like so this is why you picked the motel right? Based on the name alone, I knew I had to try Big Daddy's! My friends and I came in on a rainy day, so it wasn't too busy. The staff was really nice and let us sample a few flavors... so many to choose from. My friend and I shared a large and boy was it large! It was a mission to finish our ice cream. I really enjoyed the outdoor patio area, which was pretty big for an ice cream shop. Can't say this was the best ice cream I've had, but it was certainly very tasty! read more

I was in the area and wanted some ice cream. In downtown Ogunquit there's ice cream shops to choose from. I saw this one, it looked inviting; clean, lots of flavors to choose from and they are home made. I got my frozen yogurt raspberry chocolate chip. A kiddie, small, medium and large cups were available to look at. I chose the small cup with a sugar cone on top. The prices are reasonable and you do get a good amount. Well, I get this flavor a lot back home and elsewhere but this was by far my favorite!!! It was tasty, fresh, creamy, it was just good!! I really enjoyed up to my last bite. And yes when in this fun town I will be back to Big Daddy's ice cream. You have to try it when in the area. You will be glad you did if you like ice cream or frozen yogurt. Lots of flavors to choose from! Chocolate ice cream was really good! I got the one with peanut butter chips. My friend got the cookie dough and said it wasn't her favorite but it was still good. They have a nice outdoor spot to sit and some bathrooms. read more

I've spent decades in wells and this I've cream has always been heads above the rest. Not even close. My concern is the packing of quarts and pints. The stuff isn't free and staff should be corrected to pack vessels fully. Shows disrespect to loyal clientele. Pretty weak. read more

Our family (party of 6) went to Big Daddy's today. One member of our party has a dairy-free diet due to severe allergies. He chose the sorbet. The store doesn't use a dedicated scoop for the sorbet (and they didn;t have a new container of the sorbet from which to scoop, so my 5 year-old grandson couldn't be accommodated. It was a major disappointment for him. We didn't figure this out until AFTER the rest of us had ordered, so the little guy had to sit while the rest of us had ice cream. I ordered a small cup of Almond Joy chip. It was good and I was really enjoying it UNTIL I extracted a very long hair from the body of the ice cream. This was a major turn-off, obviously. I had eaten only a small amount of my order. My husband took the cup back in and the worker inside offered to replace the ice cream, but never offered to refund the (almost) $8 price of that cup. Needless to say, I had lost my appetite for ice cream, so a replacement was not the desired solution. read more

Great location right across from our hotel..however please put lights in the parking lot as people can't see all the people coming in because it's so dark. It's expensive which I expect at the beach however what I don't like is I got frappes well we all did and they were not filled the whole way which for 8.50 they should have been. We got them two different times and 6 different kinds none of them were filled at all. I would be back but would like to see some changes. read more

Incredible. They had a decent amount of Ice cream flavors, and the staff was extremely nice. Service was very fast despite the long line and there was one door for going in, one for going out which helped the line stay a bit tidier. It was very clean inside, however there is no indoor seating. There is outdoor seating which is average, some tables and chairs on a deck under a covering. Very cute lighting and the tables were a bit sticky, but that's kind of what's expected at an ice cream place. Also, I've never seen red raspberry ice cream before, so I got the Red Raspberry Chip, and oh my god, I'm so disappointed now because it was so good and I've never seen it anywhere around me. Easily my new favorite flavor, will be returning again to get it. read more

Ice cream is great. Prices are high. Service is mediocre at best. If you expect to be greeted with a welcome and friendly smile it's unfortunately not this place and we've been going here for years. They'll take your order and your money but won't always do it with a smile. There is typically a line but they serve faster than Sweet Peas that's practically next door. They have a great line management system and the inside is bright and clean. I just wish they'd encourage their counter staff to serve with joy and a smile. We rarely tip here because we just don't feel they care about the people they serve. read more

It's odd as the location for the Big Daddy's in Kennebunkport is not on Yelp so I'll leave my review here (we actually went to both locations). I have to say, the location in dt Kennebunkport had much friendlier service and the ice cream was a little better as well. The location in Ogunquit had a few apathetic teens working there and they came across as if they didn't really enjoy their job. Nothing 'rude' or anything to complain about really but in quite the contrast to the super friendly, peppy kids working at the KB location. I have to say, it's some of the best ice cream my family has had...and we are ice cream connoisseurs. The Blueberry Pie and Chocolate Caramel Truffle were seriously incredible! So rich and creamy...and full of flavor. We loved it so much, when the concierge at our hotel told us to try his favorite spot the next day, my family insisted on going back to Big Daddy's. They are still talking about it a couple of weeks later. read more
