Hubby and i have been coming to Gatlinburg for over 20 years. We always stop in Big Daddys. We will not be stopping there any more. No servers, you have to go to the register to order, you get your own drinks and refills. If you need a box you go get that yourself also. The only thing they do is ring it to your table. Service was good, friendly. It's counter serve, so there isn't a ton in the way of "service" though. Perfectly fine by me, because it's quicker and they can accommodate more people this way. The pizza is very good. Everything was tasty from the crust to the sauce to the toppings. I can't say it's the best pizza I've ever had, but it's up there. I might say that they go a little light on the toppings though. E.g., my wife asked for goat cheese on hers, but it was honestly hard to tell if there was any there. The one odd thing i found is that if you order a Build-Your-Own, you're going to end up paying a lot more, even if the toppings you add are the exact same ones on one of their classics. E.g., A 10" Mamma Mia is $19.00. But if you "build your own" with the same toppings, you'll pay $11 + $2.50 + $2.50 + $2.50 + $2.50 + $1.50 + $1.50 + $1.50 + $1.50, for a total of $27.00. read more

In spite of the tourist crowds, we were seated almost immediately. One finds a seat, reviews the menu, then goes to the counter to order. I am not a huge pizza fan, but the pizza was so good that we spent another of our valuable vacation evenings going back to Big Daddy's! We did a "design your own" pizza with red bell peppers, onions, pineapple and ham, and it was mouth-watering! Big Daddy's is very much a family place with lots of "help yourself" items (drinks, napkins, etc.), a bit noisy but it is such a delightful place that the noise is almost a part of its charm. read more

The crust was a bit burnt on one of them, on another the crust was a bit droopy and soggy, and some of them the cheese was completely falling off. Ordering takeout early before the rush, you would think, we ensure you receive everything correct. We had a Cuban sandwich with no sauce at all, and the greasiest pizza I think I've ever had. While taking a much needed vacation in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, my husband and I were searching for a place to have lunch. We noticed good reviews from Yelpers about Big Daddy's Pizzeria, so we decided to go. The restaurant was within walking distance from our hotel and across the street from Ober Gatlinburg park, and let me tell you - it was well worth it. This is a two-sided restaurant, with a barbecue place on the left, and the pizza place on the right. We walked in and were greeted by the nicest young lady. She asked how many we had and we told her it was just us. She seated us at a booth by the window, gave us menus, and took our drink orders. It was very nice in the restaurant, with lots of bright and happy colors, plus posters on every wall. The back area was an open kitchen with a guy handling all the cooking. Our server, Destanie, came back and took our order. We had plans to do some things and did not want a lot of food. We ordered the 10 inch Carnivore pizza and two side Caesar salads. Our salads came out in less than three minutes. The salad was good - nice and basic, with a garlic breadstick. The pizza was at our table soon after, and that was very tasty! The crust was not too thick and not too thin, and the flavor of the pizza was AMAZING. I have no doubt they use fresh ingredients at Big Daddy's Pizzeria. We also had a piece of cheesecake, but I forgot to snap a picture of that slice of deliciousness. We came here for lunch today. I was craving pizza. Big Daddy's did not disappoint. I got my pizza fix with the carnivore. Pizza was excellent! The surprise was the wings. Some of the best wings I've had. They give you a pound of small but perfectly cooked & seasoned wings. I got the house dressing, ranch & blue cheese for the wings. So good. Service was very good. GROSS! I drove all the way from Florida just to eat at Big Daddy's Pizzeria -- and I've never regretted a food stop more in my life. The Margherita pizza came out with two thick slabs of mozzarella sitting there like they'd been sliced off a block and tossed on top as an afterthought. We sent it back and asked for more cheese -- and it came back cold. Not warm, not melty, just cold. Then came the bruschetta. I don't even know what to call it -- maybe a stale crouton impersonating bread, topped with cold mozzarella straight out of the bag, diced tomatoes and onions that tasted like they'd just been dumped from a prep tub, and a side of balsamic ball-sack dressing that made me question my life choices. Every salad came with cheddar cheese and romaine, even the so-called Greek. The Caesar was the only thing close to edible, which isn't saying much. Eighty bucks later, I left hungry, annoyed, and genuinely confused about how this place has good reviews. If you're passing through Gatlinburg, do yourself a favor -- keep driving. Shared between the 2 of us, and we still took 2 slices to-go. Both were good, but we preferred the bee sting. The slight sweetness was so good! The pizzas don't have a whole lot of marinara sauce (which is fine with me), but they do have plenty of CHEESE! We waited less than 15 minutes for our order. The hostess brought us plenty of napkins, hot pepper flakes, and parmesan cheese with the pizza. So first thing, this is TN not NY so expectations were low. The service was great, the manager even popped out to answer a question for me. We ordered the meatball appetizer it was mediocre and needed more seasoning. Then we opted for a 10 inch with salami and ricotta. The salami was more like a fried bologna not a true Italian salami.
