We found a lovely dining set, although the top of the table had some wear. Harold said the guy he works with could refinish it to get rid of some of the imperfections and estimated that would cost an additional $300. We paid for the set (non-refundable) and agreed to pay for the refinishing when the work was complete. When I called to check in, Harold told me that the refinishing would cost not $300 but $700 because they had - without asking - taken it upon themselves to refinish the chairs as well. Then, when we went the store to pay he charged us $800 citing the cost of refinishing products, more than double what he estimated. Maybe that's not an unreasonable cost for a full dining set (I honestly don't know) but I felt misled, and at a minimum they should have consulted us before doing the chairs. The refinished table also looks VERY different than it did when we purchased, and not in a good way. The wood is stained so dark that the natural beauty is gone, and the finish is dull. I am so disappointed and will never purchase there again - which is a bummer because they have some nice furniture.

GOING OUT OF BUSINESS SALE!…read more My husband and I visited the store a couple of weeks ago to check out their going out of business sale. Unfortunately, they weren't really having a sale but simply raised some of the prices so that it would appear to have been drastically reduced. We had visited the store just two weeks prior to the sale so we had photos of the "pre-sale" prices still in our camera. I absolutely abhor dishonesty and when you have a quality, well established business why not go out on top? Why not just have an honest sale where you are just reducing prices and not pretending to "slash" prices"? I understand their desire to get as much as possible for their items but it should be done so honestly and ethically. I thought it was interesting that when I inquired about a very specific chair, the assistant offered to order it for me. Who orders furnishings from a business that is going out of business? That actually defies logic because if there is a problem, it becomes YOUR problem. If you are looking for a true "going out of business" sale where prices are significantly reduced, try another store or just wait it out!

When we pulled into the parking lot, we immediately noticed the word "outlet" on the building. This had escaped me initially as furniture outlets just aren't our thing because they typically don't offer the quality we are interested in seeing. We went into the store anyway to inquire about specific brands and check out their selection. Although the salesmen were nice and helpful, the store just didn't have a quality selection of furniture. They actually showed us one sofa that they described as leather but this was not our idea of leather. It just seemed like a shiny plastic instead of a rich top-grain leather that you could smell and experience before you actually see it. If you have a very small budget and are looking for something to simply fill a space, this store might be an option. However, if you are looking for better brands and furniture that will last a lifetime, you will want to keep looking. *** It was okay, just not what we wanted.
