I went to this location today on my lunch break because it is the only place I have used since I moved to SC in 2018. I used them for my old truck and my new car now, however, today I had the absolute worse experience ever and it went bad the first 3 mins I was there. I pulled into the middle lane and was looking for my debit card to make sure I had it, but I sat in the car because I have NEVER gotten out of my car when I went there in the past. Apparently they changed their rules since I was there last and I didnt notice the sign that was on the side of the building that said to get out of the car to speak to someone. So 2 men walked up to my car, and the first thing one of them said was, you have to get out of the car, I dont understand why people always stay in the car for service. So I got out, and I let him know I didnt know that because i never had to get out before even in my old truck. He proceeded to say, he doesnt know why they didnt make me get out. So I said, well there are better ways to speak to people. When I said that, he said well then you can find somewhere else to go. He said his name is William and he was the manager, so I got back in my car and proceeded to reach out to my roadside assistance because I had a flat tire, and I wasnt going to keep driving on it because he had an attitude of some sort. I get back out to ask for the address for that location and he told me he is not giving it to me until I move, and I said im not moving on this tire anymore so he can just call the cops then because I literally did nothing wrong. He proceeded to call me a "Karen" and threatened to call a tow truck to lock my car up. So I said go ahead and do it then because I'm not moving on this tire. Then another man started walking up saying " Oh you will move that car" and a bunch of other stuff, but they were both yelling at me so I didnt hear everything they were saying at that point. But he was being rude as well like they wanted to fight me. I am a 5'3" woman in a tiny car(chevy Cruze) and they were talking to me like I just stole something from them all because I wouldn't let William talk to me any type of way. The other guy calmed down and explained that the rules changed a few months ago, so I said is that my fault that I didnt know the rules changed? I saw the sign when he pointed it out, but it wasnt right in front of me, is it not normal for people not to see all signs? He still was trying to force me to move my car with a bad tire and I just started crying so hard. I didnt know what to do and it wasnt for their sympathy, but I had kids to pick up, it was right before school got out, I still needed to get back to work and I just couldn't believe all of this was happening because I didnt see their sign about getting out the car. I guess the guy felt bad and said he will put my donut on for me, and he did apologize for the way he was speaking to me so I do appreciate that. But William didnt want him to put the donut on and he clearly believed he was right with the way he was talking to me. I was the first person to pull up at that moment, if there were other people there when I got there and I saw them get out, then I would have noticed the change and got out too, but I was the only customer there at first. William, being the manager should have just said the policy changed and we just need the customers to get out now. That would not have been hard to do at all. I have been in customer service for over 20 years and William clearly does not know how to deal with customers. You dont walk up to a customer with an attitude because you think they know your policies or read all your signs. I drove there because I trusted them and now I will never use them again. If I trusted my tire to make it to another shop, I would have gone right away. read more

Best friend and I came to rock hill for a carowinds trip, on the way we were notified that our tire was low, come to find out there was a nail in it. For 2 young girls to come to a tire shop and be treated with respect along with fast service was something we were not expecting but we are greatly appreciative. Great little place if you need a set of tires to tie you over or even new ones. Great for a quick repair and good prices for the labor, charged $30 to install a tire on truck that I already had and had me on my way in about 20 minutes from pulling in. I've gone here twice for two different vehicles and I also recommended my sister to Big Earl's when she was on hard times. Prices are unbeatable, customer service is amazing and they are honest. After being told by three tire places I would need to pay $120-135 for a tire because it was a "rare" size. I found these wonderful Yelp reviews and ran to this location and they had plenty of my "rare size." He showed me several brands and why I would or wouldn't like each brand. He also showed me several nuances on my car and how each tire would impact the sound, look, and feel while driving. After initially picking a more expensive tire he talked me into a cheaper tire due to a better drive and sound. I spent a total of $45 for the tire and installation. This was a great experience and I honestly wouldn't go anyplace else for tires in Charlotte. read more

Great, friendly service. Big Earl's was fast and got me exactly what I needed quickly. What they didn't know is that I had gone to a chain tire place earlier that day, and all they did was try to sell me more tires than I wanted. I left the chain store, riding on a spare donut tire that was what I had when I went in. I'm so glad I did a google search and found Big Earl's. I had been once before to get my tires rotated and balanced. I went in again needing to buy more time for new tires, hoping he was as professional as he was the first time. He sold me on getting new back tires since my car is rear drive and used for the front would be fine. I leave and my steering wheel is shaking. Go back in because its either the balancing on the tire or just a bad tire. The front were used mind you and the steering wheel shaking is a clear sign of something NOT right. My car was not doing this before. I was told to go back and they would fix it, so i did, during my lunch break. I left, and again, steering wheel shaking! I called him again and he said i have two options since he didn't have my front wheel size, to either go to a slightly different size, the height was correct but the tire was slightly more narrow or buy two new tires, giving me credit for the used ones but still owing $120 more! I think all he wanted was to get me to buy used ones all along. If that were the case, he wouldn't have been the shop i would have gone to. I was giving him the benefit of the doubt, a local shop vs. a larger retailer and now he is making me regret it. I came in on Thursday in order to get two tires put on two wheels. They did have the tires I wanted for a reasonable price. However, after they put the tires on my wheels, there were gouges in the rims themselves, going through layers of paint and primer down to the bare metal. When I pointed these out, I was called a liar by the two men working and was told that this was already like this, however, I had taken the rims off the car 20 mins prior, and I would have been aware of such damage. They said "we'll buy you another can of spray paint because that's all they were", and laughed in my face. I told them to take the tires off because I was not paying for my wheel to be damaged. I got laughed at again, as they waited 20 minutes to take them off. After they were taken off, I had more gouges in my wheels. Terry at Big Earl's Saved the Day. On father's day we were traveling from Charlotte to Lake Murray when we got a flat on the interstate from a screw. We managed to get off the road to get some air in the tire. We found a tire shop but they didn't plug tires but they told us about Big Earl's. When we got to Big Earl's, Terry said he could help but there were other cars in the garages and it would be 45 min or so. I let Terry know we had kids in the car and we were trying to meet people by a certain time. He was kind enought to just 'plug it' in place in the parking lot. He got it plugged and stopped the leak. He also let us know that our tires were over inflated and took the time to get the pressure right in all four tires. That's excellent service for a $10 job. Thanks Again read more
