    Duck breast
    Paul M.

Came here on a Saturday night and two out of three dishes were very good. I got the apricot glazed wild boar chop, delicious!! We also got the Canadian duck breast which was also wonderful. The only dish that was a bit of a miss was a curry style seafood dish, the curry somewhat overpowered the seafood. Service was casual and friendly, and the place was clean.

The boys took me out for Saturday brunch on Mother's Day weekend. We made reservations on OpenTable but was also asked to confirm our reservation via phone. Our table was all set and ready for us when we arrived (condiments and ice water were set up a few minutes before our reserved time). We ordered the Seafood Platter to start: the scallops were fresh, tender and sweet. The beer battered shrimp was lightly battered, crunchy and juicy. A pair of condiments (house made tartar sauce and smoked tomato chutney) and crackers complemented the cured Arctic char salmon pate, and smoked salmon perfectly. For the mains, I ordered the eggs Benny with blue crab(which I enjoyed immensely). Our son had the pork belly omelette and hubby had smoked lox, poached eggs and brioche. Our first experience here for brunch certainly won't be our last!

Walleye filet with sauteed spinach & bacon

We wanted to try some of the game and freshwater fish that Alberta is known for, while visiting. While several places offer bison, this restaurant was the only one that offered elk steak and walleye. Even though our reservation was in mid-afternoon, the manager Andy took great care of us! From a fascinating take on white sangria (it had dragonfruit in it) to their housemade ice cream, his recommendations were spot on. My husband had the elk sirloin, rare, with a baked potato that had been scooped out and stuffed with corn, poblano, and cheese mixture. It was all so delicious, and the presentation was beautiful. I had a walleye filet with sauteed spinach & bacon on top, served on a bed of mashed, seasoned red potatoes. The bacon & spinach were the perfect foil for the fish. And the fish skin was crispy, yum! No bones or scales...prepped really well. Portions were generous, we were absolutely stuffed. And though I loved my fish, I want to return someday to get that tender elk and stuffed potato myself. As my hub said, it was the best potato he had ever eaten.

Great food and service at Sunday brunch. Beautifully presented plates. Amazed by the very reasonable price for such high quality.

The space offers a mix of seating which had indoor tables and a section with food court-style seating that's technically still indoors but feels more casual. It wasn't overly busy when I went, and the atmosphere was fine. Since I couldn't decide what to order, I asked the server for a recommendation. They suggested the Traditional Benny, mentioning that making it "Canadian style" includes maple syrup on the side. I also went with the Get Shorty Rib Poutine, which looked amazing when it came out, but the flavor just didn't quite live up to the presentation. It wasn't bad, just okay. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, but I didn't think it lived up to the hype. I'd give it three stars.

Today I tried the SHAKSHUKA Stewed plum tomatoes, lemon, peppers, jalapeños, Za'atar spice, chickpeas, poached eggs, cow feta, fresh herbs, French rye bread. BUT I added an extra egg for added protein. It definitely needed it and I feel like the 3rd egg should be standard. Other bread choices would be a nice bonus. In the end it was a satisfying meal. Service is standard, open kitchen, nice ambiance showcasing eggs.

We were shocked to find another couple sitting at our reserved table--frankly, I hadn't anticipated it would be a shared table for eight in the first place. To make matters worse, we were rushed to order and pay the bill. After that couple left, another pair were seated at our six-person table without any explanation. Our dishes arrived in two separate waves with a 10-minute gap. They also automatically added an 18% tip for parties of more than five people, which I expect at least we should have a private table. When I expressed my dissatisfaction to the server, the owner came out and became confrontational and aggressive. He raised his voice, saying I could "tell him what I am not satisfied with." Then he offered a refund, which I immediately declined, and afterward snatched a package of coffee from the counter and offered it as compensation. I refused again--it felt more like an insult than a genuine apology. After we posted our reviews, the owner privately messaged my friend, asking us to remove them and citing the "small Chinese community" as a reason we should support each other. That's incredibly manipulative. Using community guilt to pressure customers into deleting honest feedback is inappropriate and only reinforces our negative experience. I will not be returning.

By the time it arrived, everything was stone cold. The cheese was literally hard from melting and then going cold, the potatoes were undercooked and raw, and the entire meal was completely inedible. Spending $35 on food that went straight in the garbage is beyond frustrating, it's infuriating. And the $5 "seasonal fruit bowl" looked like someone's picked-over leftovers. A couple random pieces tossed in a container and sent out like that's acceptable? It's honestly disgusting and shows a complete lack of quality control. At this point, I would've been better off ordering McDonald's for a third of the price, because at least it would've shown up hot and edible. This is careless, overpriced, and completely unacceptable. 1STAR. Complete fail.
