    Prime Beef Bolognese

Food = We ordered Steak tenderloin Oscar style and Papperdelle Bolognese, wedge salad, crab cakes , fried potatoes. The steak Oscar style was a little salty and crab cakes too salty. Otherwise the other food are just ok. I thought the bolognese was the best of all and it is not even an Italian restaurant. Lava cake is good !! Service: We were served complementary glasses of Prosecco for our anniversary and we are thankful for that. Service was good. We have left overs and staying in a hotel and asked for disposable utensils and they don't have any. Ambiance : Place was empty. The bathroom is clean. The restaurant interior has different levels, has few steps to where we were seated and few steps down going to the bathroom.

I've heard great things about this place and it's a solid steakhouse. Upscale and classy with live jazz music for an hour on Saturday nights, it's a perfect venue to impress your date! Staff are stellar and happily explain the cuts to you and provide their recommendations. ENTREE: Pan roasted Icelandic Cod (with creamy spaghetti squash, roasted yam puree, green beans and sage butter) had a nicer presentation than I've seen from other reviews. The fish was beautiful and flakey and nicely seasoned. Wish there was a bit more textural contrast in the dish as everything was very creamy and rich. SIGNATURE SIDE: Mac and cheese (with smoked cheddar) had a pretty presentation. Though very buttery, it could use a bit more flavour. DESSERT: Pear Tonka Bean Galette (Praline, roasted pear caramel, vanilla bean gelato) is a shareable size and extremely sweet. It's like eating a warm apple pie filling and the galette is a soft cakey texture slightly underbaked. Dark Chocolate Cake (soft centre with roasted strawberries and burn cinnamon gelato) was served warm and dense like a brownie. Also found it too sweet to finish!

Service is on the slow side but expected for a place like this. We went as a big group so there was limited menu to choose from. Napkin folded so cute on the table. Soup of the day is good and I didn't even catch was it. Lol. Crab cake was the unexpected. Felt that it was more processed than my liking. Taste is good though. Salmon was good. The side potato was so buttery and yum! Carrots and broccoli were good! Lemon meringue tart was a disappointment for me. The sauce was too sweet. The tart crust didn't have any taste. The lemon curd was too sweet.

A classy steakhouse that serves well-seasoned and tender steaks! The temperature of my ribeye was perfect and it was very flavorful. The crème brûlée that I had was extraordinary with tangy plum puree and cocoa bits! The surface was crispy while the inside was warm and tender. All the staff were attentive and service was excellent. It's a restaurant that I'd return to when I visit Calgary again!

Went this steakhouse after visiting Banff. We went for lunch and the service was quick and pleasant. The steak was quite different from what we had in the US. The meat is definitely on the leaner side therefore not as tender as American beef. The restaurant was nice and clean inside. It's in downtown area so we had to pay for for parking and they didnt validate it.

I stopped by Vintage a few times over the years. The ambience and service have been good. I like the way they present the board with all the cuts to the table. The must try item here is their Canada Prime Bone-in Ribeye. It's almost on the same level as Kobe beef (from a fine dining restaurant in Japan). The only thing is that the steak can feel quite fatty when you're ¾ through...so the vinegary mushroom side definitely compliments this steak. In terms of other food, their complimentary bread and butter is quite nice. Their crab cakes and desserts is similar to other fine dining places Overall, I'd give them 9.5/10

It's that classic old-school money type of establishment. It's rustic and beautiful. It reminds you of a better time when people went out to eat. They desired fancy, elaborate places to go. It's old money, deep, rich wood walls, dark but well-lighted areas. This place is a true gem The staff is phenomenal. They come out, they walk you through everything, every type of meat you want to eat, and then you gorge. Our server was, hands-down, the best server I've ever seen in my life. He seemed to enjoy his job and genuinely care about people. He was an awesome dude. S- Jeremy is awesome and made the meal.

I heard a lot of good things about Vintage. To my surprise, it was not as wow as I have expected. Right now in YYC, they have this dine out special. Unlike Vancouver, when there is a dine out special in Vancouver it gets super pack. In Calgary, it was dead. The dine out special isn't a bad deal. For $40, you get a three course meal that included: French Onion soup, striploin and creme brulee. The portion size was huge. But I am after taste and quality and not size. The French Onion soup was more on the salty side. I felt that they added a bit too much balsamic vinegar. So the flavor was slightly off. There were not a lot of cheese in the soup. Plenty of onion and croutons. The 8oz Striploin was a bit weird. Not sure what seasoning or spices they used. It was somewhat spicy. Yes, I am not kidding. It was on the spicy side. Also at the same time the steak was salty. I asked for it to be medium rare and yes it did come out medium rare. The steak was not as tender as I hoped it would be. It wasn't tough either. I was able to bite through it. On the side it came with broccolini and potato fondant. The Broccolini had some sprinkled spice that made it spicy as well. On the bright side the potatoe fondant was not spicy. However, it didn't tasted fresh. It was hard and I felt like it was cooked and left out for a while before it was being served. Not a fan of the potatoe fondant and this is coming from someone who loves potatoes. On the side of the dish, there was the red wine demi and that was good. It had a hint of sweetness to it. It went well with the steak. Last but not least was the crème brulee. The crème brulee portion size was huge. It came with blueberries on the side and a biscotti. I am not a big fan of biscotti by itself unless it is with coffee or tea. So not sure why they put it beside the crème brulee. Not complaining. I did take a bite of it and again, it wasn't wow. The crème brulee was nothing that special. Overall food wise it is 3 stars. In terms of décor, it had that old style or 80s style steak house feel. I do like the seating. The place is big. I came on a Tuesday night and it was not packed. When I left at 6:50, there were only 3 other tables occupied in the entire restaurant. I know on Friday night they have live music. Maybe that is when they get busy. Service was good. I didn't have to hunt anyone down. I have had better steak in Alberta. I can think of one place that serves better steak than them nearby. Well, finally got to try this place out and was able to check it off my bucket list. I don't think I will be back.

If you are looking for a juicy steak, look no further! Great lighting, awesome place to bring a date and have a nice (big) glass of red wine, or white.. I'm not judging. Compliments to the chef, and compliments to my belly for digesting this beast!

A very interesting place! The name definitely matches the atmosphere. I liked the atmosphere, decoration and the food. I found the food a little salty, very close to what I experienced in Texas but I still liked it and I enjoyed the experience. We started with some scallops which were really good. The steak was cooked pretty good and I liked all three sides that we ordered: Roasted mushrooms, creamed spinach and honey roasted carrots. We finished our meal with baked Alaska which was pretty good too. Overall it was a very good experience and I will go back there again!

Lovely pours of interesting wines, fine specialty cocktails, a bunch of shared plates that included flatbreads, olives, charcuterie, cheese and ultimately a couple of dozen oysters that disappeared almost before the server was able to make it back to the kitchen. What's more to like? Especially nice touches on the oysters that sat on a bed of sea salt with toppings available that included fermented horseradish, a nicely seasoned jalapeno puree and a red wine reduction to perk up the briny little invertebrates. Yum. We did not mess around, spared no overindulgences (burp) and still barely managed to spend $300. Yes, that's a lot of money, but when something is this well put together, very well worth the price in my opinion. And when you're spending that much, any sin gets pointed out in great detail. No such issue. Love to return here and concur with fellow Yelpers the strong rating for this venue. Highly recommended.

Honestly, the highlight of our visit to Missy's was the Missy's This That charcuterie board. Each piece of cured meat was sliced impossibly thin, the olives were meaty and delicious, and the cheeses were carefully selected to complement everything. I loved that it also came with a side of thick cut bread and pickled vegetables. One of the best charcuterie boards I've had at a restaurant for sure.
