I can't even explain the extent this shop went to figure out a year long issue I had been dealing with my vehicle. After using 3 other mechanic shops (including a Honda Dealership) no one could solve the problem my car was having. Long story short, Big G addressed what appeared to be the presenting issue but after that didn't fix it, they thoroughly investigated everything at no extra cost and fixed my car/year long headache that cost me thousands of dollars. Last year I took my wife's car over to Firestone on Natural Bridge in Bridgeton and bought 4 tires. When I picked the car up they told me I needed a brake job ASAP! I told the guy I had to discuss it with my wife, since we had just spent a lot of money on the tires. The next day I took the car over to Big G to check the brakes. They said we still had some miles left on the brakes, and didn't charge to check them. We drove the car for another 11 months before the brakes started squealing. This week we took her 2005 Honda Accord to Big G for the brake job that Firestone tried to sell us almost a year ago. It was a completely Contact Free experience. Being in my 70's during this pandemic, I really appreciate this. When I dropped the car off I put my key in the drop box on the right side of the building. I called the office to let them know the car was on their lot and the keys in the drop box. Today when I got the call that the car was ready, I gave the young lady my credit card number over the phone, and asked her if they could put my key and the paper work in my trunk. She said, "Sure." My wife drove me back to Big G and opened the trunk so I could get the car key and the receipt. At no point did I come anywhere near any other customers or employees. I really appreciate the honesty and competence of Big G, and now even more, I appreciate how they made it 100% safe for me to get the work done. I had just had a battery replaced elsewhere, and I got an alert in my monitoring system. Since they were near my employer, I stopped in. Without charging me, they had a tech come out, run my car for codes, found the problem, and fixed it. FOR NO CHARGE!!!! I offered to tip, but they said not to worry about it. That was so gracious of them, and the help was genuinely appreciated. The next time I need serious car work, I would ABSOLUTELY go to this place, they have a reputation for being honest, and it shows!! read more

The day before I went to Big G I bought 4 tires at Firestone, down the street. They also convinced me I needed a wheel alignment. Then, when I went to pick up my car they said my rear brakes were very worn and I should replace them ASAP! Their estimate was $338, including replacing the brake fluid. I thought their quote was high and decided to get a second opinion. Several people recommended Big G Auto Service, and a few commented on their honesty. We dropped our car off and within a half hour they called me. They said I really didn't need brakes yet. My rear brakes had 25% pad left and the front had 70%. By the way, their quote was $60 less than Firestone's. When you find an honest mechanic it's like winning a "Scratch-off" lottery ticket. I will never return to Firestone. When I do get my brakes done I will definitely return to Big G for that and any future car repair. They are honest, reasonably priced, and courteous. This is my first and usually last stop anytime I have an issue with a vehicle. For years I have been getting all of my routine maintenance here; and all other work. These guys are honest, quick, friendly, and probably the most reasonably priced as far as labor goes right now. "I don't know why they quoted you so much" is what they told me when I had to get my rear main seal replaced and told them what the dealership wanted to charge. Big G got it done for hundreds less. I spent 75$-towing to this place They tellme two fuses were blown due to an inoperable starter I end up paying 337.00 $ 160.00 just to pop in two tiny fuses A week later it is confirmed was 1 blown fuse not 2 and i diagnosed it over google mechanics fixing issue watching a u tube video.will never go back to big g They are quick to take your $ Thats it! This place is great! Best place in bridgeton if u ask me! Gets the work done fast. Recently took some motor mounts in to get the old mount inserts pressed out. So i could install new pylo racing mount inserts for my car! G got it done fast and at a very resonable price! Great place to go hands down! Keep it up G!! read more

I took my car up to big GS for the first time 2 days ago for a cracked radiator and they were very quick and very reasonably priced when it came to replacing it. But my car was still having over heating problems.i took it up to them last night and they took another look at it and they said they would take care of the issue for free if I dropped it off in the morning. These guys rock!!! They will work with you and make sure you're getting the best auto repair service you could possibly get. Big G replaced the engine in my Nissan Versa almost 1 year ago today. It has ran flawlessly since the day I picked it up. this place needs to learn how to properly quote a service over the phone. How you going to quote one price and then when I show up to get my vehicle, its over DOUBLE what I was originally told (WITHOUT calling for approval I might add)? its not my fault that your mechanic is slow and cant beat the book. Then, if that werent bad enough, you make me make an appointment, which you dont honor, tell me you 'got behind' when i show up almost 7 hours later to get my vehicle (what was the point of making me make an appointment if you were going get to it when you got to it?) and then have me scrambling to get to your place before you close to get my vehicle so i can pay double of what you originally told me (mind ya, didnt even find this out til you handed me the bill, what happens if id been paying cash?). you might be able to get away with this on the average joe blow who doesnt know where their gas cap is, but for someone who's been in the industry for over 20 years and decided to throw you a pc of business because they didnt feel like messing with it, well, lets just say i own way too many cars for you to have pulled that, you just lost business on all of them. Wont be back and I highly recommend anyone who does decide to trust these guys to get ALL information before they ever turn a wrench on your vehicle. steer clear of these scam artist. read more

Had a check engine light come on which I paid over $300 to fix. and after about 3-4 trips back I give up. They said was a misdiagnose on their end, and said they fixed what they said was misdiagnosed, but light came back on once again. Also after having brakes put on that have never been right (brought back a couple of times after they were installed, and they still squeaked and were grinding), then this latest check engine light issue, I have lost my confidence.
