I hired this company when I bought my house to remove several stumps, relandscape our lawn, move sprinkler system (which they broke and refused to fix), put in bender border, and we asked if they could relocate a Camilla tree which was older and hard to find, they insisted they could but instead cut all the roots leaving the tree with nothing to grab when relocated so it died almost immediately and with the first windy day (which we get a lot in the valley) it tipped over because it had no roots. While they were here the son (who was leading our job) was rude, dismissive, and left trash all over our lawn and planter beds when he was done. When we made a complaint about the son his parents were equally dismissive and didn't "believe" us. The bender border has long screws sticking out with no caps of any kind leaving them completely exposed and incredibly dangerous. It's been a few years now and I kept avoiding making this review because even though I was upset I don't want to hurt a small business. However some of the landscaping they did (and others we've tried adding) all die almost immediately. Only today while pulling weeds my husband discovered that they never removed the stumps we paid to have removed they simply cut them low and buried them, the reason nothing is surviving in that part of our yard is because they can't root because there are already roots from the stump blocking other plants from taking root. I feel robbed because the job I paid thousands of dollars for was done poorly, and we've dealt with it ever since. read more

I'm really disappointed with my experience with Big Green Tree Service & Landscaping. Upon my first meeting with Gilbert & Elizabeth I was happy to work with them. They seemed fair, attentive, and communicative. The first job we brought them in for was a simple tree and stump removal and overgrowth removal, the quality of work on that first job is why they're getting 1 star and not getting reviewed worse. While they completely missed a stump they did come back to get it. However the invoice we paid for had debris removal and hauling but instead they just filled all of our trash cans and left. The next job we hired them for was much more in depth, we hired them to level our backyard for artificial turf (it's still not level so it's still not turfed 2 months later), relocating of several plants, addition of a bender border, and a service on the irrigation system. The job was partially done and Elizabeth contacted us for payment, we asked when they were finishing and she said they were done. This wasn't the case and when they came back to see what wasn't done we were informed we actually needed a whole new irrigation system, we received another invoice that once again included all debris removal and hauling, which once again apparently meant completely filling all of my trash cans and leaving them for me to deal with, as well as their crew leaving trash tucked away all through out the backyard. We were told we would be getting a drip system for every plant, when all was said and done we had drip systems for most and they repurposed some of the original sprinklers to spray plants from a distance rather than directly watering them as was promised. The bulk of the work was managed by Gilbert and Elizabeth's son Gilbert Jr. who was incredibly rude, boastful, and disrespectful, his customer service was atrocious and his refusal to listen to our concerns was incredibly frustrating. When the job was "done" my girlfriend paid them and upon further inspection realized that the job was far from properly completed. We contacted the company and had to send multiple messages to get any response, Gilbert came back out a few days later and did correct most of the problems but we decided to just live with a less than perfect irrigation system rather that allowing them to step foot on our property again considering I still was left with all of their crew's trash spread around my backyard and remaining lengths of the old irrigation haphazardly sticking out of our yard even after Gilbert came back out. Provided me a quote within 2 more days, and was flexible when I had to reschedule, unexpectedly, the day we had confirmed for service. Day of service, they showed up on time with a full crew and were very efficient in their execution. They also helped me source plants at the last minute, because I was unable to! The owner himself drove to two nurseries to find plants that we needed! When they were finished, they cleaned up everything meticulously, and even followed up with me, via phone, to ensure I was satisfied before they requested payment. We made an appointment for 11am for an estimate. 11am comes and goes and they don't arrive. 20 minutes later I check in to see if they're still coming, and they say yes. It's 11:30am and they still haven't arrived so I ask for an ETA, because I have to leave at 12pm. They say 1230pm because there is a lot of traffic. Traffic doesn't explain an hour and a half delay. Then they blamed it on a miscommunication between the team. Not sure which is true but I won't ever use them. They should have been more proactive in communicating the delay and not lie about the reason. Really unprofessional. read more
