Had a huge tree leaning over my house. Denis (Dennis? Deniss? there's no consensus here ) gave me a great quote, and also told me he'd be there on the day of the job, working it. In other words, he wasn't just the "quote" guy, he was the hands-on owner. He and his guys were great. First off, they were all friendly and nice, and still that way late into the afternoon. They also all spoke English, not that that mattered, but it was nice for me to know I could ask any of them a question and not have to find Denis. My tree leaned out way over my roof, and I told Denis I was concerned about stuff hitting it while they worked. I'd done brush clearance and other tree removal in the past, and even using the rope system, it's always happened that *some* branches, etc, have hit my roof during the process (never any damage, to my knowledge, but boy, it sounds like a bomb going off inside the house). Well, not a sound from these guys! They were good to their word about being careful with my roof. And lastly, they did two little things that *no one* doing this kind of work for me has ever done before: 1. They unscrewed the sprinkler heads around where they were working so they wouldn't break. And 2. when I went to look out my kitchen window to check progress, I couldn't actually see anything as they'd put boards up against that window to protect it. Now these might be "standard" things tree people do, but, as I said, it was the first time anyone's ever did this for me. And I've had 4-5 different companies over the years doing this kind of work. The company was prompt to respond to our request to trim our tree. Deniss responded, asked for our address to inspect the tree and asked for a picture. After I sent the picture, Deniss responded with a price for trimming, shaping and cleaning up. With other comparable quotes from other tree services, we agreed and scheduled service with Deniss because his crew was able to do the work at a time and day that fit into our availability. On the day of our scheduled service, the crew showed up and immediately said the tree was bigger than they thought, and wanted more money. I showed them the conversation from Yelp, and what Deniss agreed to. The crew said they would not do the work for the price given, and asked for more money. We didn't agree to paying more, so the crew left. I would not recommend this business because I believe they did a bait and switch. Dennis chose not to come out and see the tree in person, used the picture he asked for to price the job. He sent his crew out and then tried to get more money from us to do the work. read more

I hired them to remove trees which they did do. I was discussing with them my plans after as the owner stated he can place artificial grass and redo the cement. Their work is very bad. The grass seams can be seen. The cement layer was so thin it started flaking off and I had to threaten them with legal action where he didn't want to fix it without me spending more money for his mistakes. Quick and efficient. Fire Department inspections for hillside brush clearance going on right now, so I called around and got some quotes. Got some very different quotes, some may have been too-good-to-be-true, some were much higher, but those guys wanted to do much more (one proposal involved a four-man team, all-day, clean-up all the way up the hill). These guys were in the middle in terms of their approach and pricing. Dennis and Victor (two-man team) came out and had the visible parts of the hill cleaned up in just three hours. They seemed to have a good sense of what LAFD is looking for (trimmed up tree branches away from the ground, removed all the visible dead brush) and didn't do anything extra. At first I was concerned about whether my property beyond my fence would need to be cleared as well, but they did a little bit more clearing there and Dennis also said they would come back if LAFD gave me issues about it.
