Updating for more specificity: I'd avoid this company (we were assigned them via our home warranty). Despite getting many calls and reminder messages about the window of arrival, the first time around the technician came around an hour early (understandable in case they are in the area, but we could have at least gotten a call to ask if they could come early). I asked him to please let us know if he was going to come early the next time, and I let the company know specifically please do not come outside the window, and if you are going to, please have the technician call. Well, after many repeated reminders about arrival time, I get a call that morning from the technician that he's early and I ask him to come during the set window as I wasn't home. Neverthless, he shows up early, and my elderly parents happen to be home and more or less accidentally let him in. Can't believe this happened despite all my attempts and communication to prevent this. To add insult to injury, he realizes he doesn't have the tools to do the job as he didn't fully inspect the stove we had his first time around, so would have to come again. The owner called me upset that I left a negative review - I explained these circumstances and his response was he is cancelling the contract. I was not upset to hear that, we've already moved on to another company. read more

Recent update working with them. Started a request from last December to fix our LG Washer and "wrapped up" final repair took until May 1. That was after several visits and having to reopen a new service in March since the machine was still not working. Most of the time was after my own persistence was that they said AHS had to order new parts and they never followed up. I called Big Guys a couple of times first before going to AHS myself to get an update because Big Guys never followed through despite multiple times saying they'd call me with status after a week and never once called. Finally, they had parts and came to install early May but we were out of the country on vacation for another month so I don't know how they confirmed it was working (our son just let them in to do the job). Well guess what, the washer is broken again and doesn't drain. After multiple new parts orders and attempts, still not working! They get a C- for effort and an D for results this time!! Wasn't an F because at least they stopped the washer from over filling...hoping that problem doesn't return, too. Called AHS and they are assigning someone else. Fingers crossed!!! read more

I had issues with my subzero refrigerator not sufficiently cooling my food, resulting in spoiled food. The company followed up every step of the way as parts were ordered, shipped and scheduled for repair. My serviceman, Ivan, was professional, knowledgeable, helpful (moved my food, put it back and swept the kitchen!) and very assured in what he was doing. It took him 5 hours to essentially take it apart and fix it but he was thorough and focused on taking care of the problem without showing any concern of how long it took to repair it! And it worked immediately and is cooling items at half the setting I had it on. Great service! read more

After, he said he's going to charge me for work but is not sure of the problem.... It takes a really poor experience for me to be motivated to do this...they may be good at other stuff, but find someone else for your dishwasher, or you might get this.... * 3 visits, clear each time that the technician(s) that visited us does not qualify as "Bosch Certified" * Bosch dishwasher still doesn't work (same error code we reported when we first called appeared after they left saying it was fixed) * $655 charged for parts (Heat pump, BLDC, TP3, w/ hose clamp, motor suspension, Fan, zeolite 3, Tube, Fill tube, w/ sprinkler) and labor (Replace Heat pump, BLDC, TP3, w/ hose clamp, motor) - appears none of this has anything to do with error code E07. * Boxes for parts left behind (not cleaned up, see picture) * Dishwasher scraped and damaged when returned to its original location (will add picture if I am allowed to edit after I post this. * Dishwasher not reinstalled correctly (off center from original location) To be fair, they offered to come back and address it, but I am not letting them near my dishwasher and throwing good money after bad. Keep looking, there has to be someone better out there. Bosch U.S. lists Big Guys as repair company for dishwashers in the Bay Area. You cannot make an appointment without giving your credit card--which does not seem legal or fair. They charge $160 for a service call. Then they have to come back and do the actual repair. A lot of hassle and waiting for parts for not very good service. read more

Big Guys came out from our home warranty company. They came within 2 days of the reported problem. They have a 2 hour window which is rare these days and helpful for planning. Everything went very well and we are extremely pleased and, while we hope we do not need any other repairs - if we do - we'll request Big Guys! Also, the repairman - Max - easily agreed to wear a mask in our home. I had recently had surgery and needed to be extra cautious. This was appreciated. read more

A very poor customer service experience. I had a broken compressor for my fridge. This company said they had to order the part to fix before scheduling my next appointment. The estimate was 10 days which was already a long time for an appliance part. After calling them for any updates, they had NO estimate on when the part would come. Once the estimated timeline for part arrival had been exceeded, my boyfriend followed up with another call. Still no estimate on arrival, and they refused to let us make an appointment until we get the part. Extremely frustrating. What turned into 10 days for a part turned into 15 days. Although I am a tenant, I find it disrespectful to my landlord who has to pay for these services. I would not recommend this. Usually for bad experiences, I am not one to post it but I want others to be wary before utilizing their services. read more

I wish I could give a negative star rating I was referred to this place by Thermador to repair my refrigerator They charged me $200 for a visit. They were late The repair man was here for 2 minutes maximum and most of that time was to hear me tell him about the issue I was seeing. He opened the fridge and closed it for a total of 10 seconds and said he knew what the problem was and had to order a bunch of parts and would be back in 1 week. Well, that was 2 months ago and I keep calling for an update and there is no update. What a scam read more

I have a 25 year old Jennaire stove top that the burners were malfunctioning. They were referred to me by my general repair guy who was not familiar with Jennaire. The scheduled for a day or two later. Service fee would be $165, plus parts. The repair guy was professional and it turned out that a piece on the burners just need to be cleaned out, so nothing else was required. They didn't try to sell me parts I didn't need and honestly, the Service fee is fair (they have to pay the technician, mileage and cover their admin fees). I'm very happy with the service and would recommend them to others. read more

DO NOT USE this vendor!! They were dispatched by Fidelity Home Warranty to look at my oven. My stovetop would get EXTREMELY hot when I used my oven. Fidelity had two other vendors come out for it and one replaced the fan and the other replaced something else, but it didn't solve the issue. These two vendors never said 'it was normal' - if it was, they wouldn't have ordered part to replace. So Fidelity dispatches Big Guys Appliance because they are Kitchenaid Specialists. HA...lies! The guy comes out and 1) DOESN'T SPEAK ENGLISH, so we're communicating via google translate. I kid you not! After TWO HOURS of him taking my oven apart, he proceeds to tell me there's nothing wrong with it. WHAT? The top of my stove gets so hot, that it's a safety hazard and can cause burns. I had an aluminum container on my stove (just sitting there) and the heat from the oven MELTED part of the plastic on the container. And the vendor tells me that this is NORMAL. BS. No it's not. I've had the oven for 15 years and it's never done this. So he goes back to Fidelity and tells them nothing is wrong, and Fidelity believes him! So they closed the case and said if I want another vendor to come out, it'll be at my expense. I've asked the Fidelity lady to have a supervisor/ manager give me a call. This is unacceptable and ridiculous. I've been a 20-year Fidelity customer, and they believe the vendor over the customer? I plan to file a compliant with the BBB for both companies. After looking at BBB, Big Guys Appliance is not a BBB accredited business and gets a D- rating! WOW! Updated after the response from the Owner: You say "Fidelity does not cover claims related to "overheating" unless a covered component has failed". Just because your tech couldn't find the reason why it was overheating, doesn't mean nothing was wrong. It's overheating (as you put it) for a reason. We've had this oven for a while and it's never done this, therefore, SOMETHING is failing. Did your tech also mention in his report to Fidelity that his heat sensor device was recording a higher heat temperature than what the oven was set for? He set the oven at 325 degrees and his device measured it in the 400's. He asked me if I recently had the heat sensor replaced and I said no. That in itself is an issue, but again, did he report this to Fidelity? This is a safety issue and I welcome you, as the owner, to come witness this yourself. read more

Avoid Big Guys Appliance. My freezer was not keeping cold. I called them more than a month ago, because they are listed as a preferred provider on Thermador's website. The technician came to my home on Sept 8th. On that date, he diagnosed my Thermador freezer, which was still working, but not as cold as it should be. He said they would come back for the repair within 10 days, once the parts came in. On Sept 8th, I was charged $165 for a service call, which I was told would be applied to the repair work. I was also charged $525 for parts. From that day, I have received zero phone calls and communication from Big Guys. And my freezer still doesn't work. I've called them 7-8 times. Once I was told "one part is in, we are waiting on the other part." Another time I was told "the part just came in today" which was a straight up lie. Nothing had come in that day. The phone rep saw that one part had arrived weeks ago and incorrectly thought that was the only part needed. But he decided to lie about the arrival date. He then scheduled a service visit. One hour before the repair person was to arrive, Big Guys canceled because they didn't have the second part. They would happily charge me for a service call if I canceled an hour ahead of time. Canceling the appointment was very disruptive to my schedule. I had arranged my day to ensure I would be available. I also had guests coming in later that day, and expected to have a working freezer for their visit. I spoke to the manager, Mohammed. At this point, Oct 3rd, I had been nearly a month since their initial visit. He told me, "I don't know where the second part is. I emailed my supplier." By the way, they use a 3rd party supplier, not OEM parts. I let them know it was worth them calling their supplier to figure out the situation, given how long it has been. Mohammed promised to call on Monday Oct 6th and update me. It's Oct 14th. I have yet to receive a single phone call from Big Guys. I've already had an actual Thermador technician out and will proceed with them for the repair. So now I've had to pay service call fees to both companies. I called Big Guys today and told them I want a full refund of the parts and service fee call, since I've acted in good faith and they have been extraordinarily unprofessional. The owner said "I don't respond to demands. I will not refund the service call. I will only refund the parts minus a 15% restocking fee." So, they expect to be paid over $200 for doing nothing and leaving me without a freezer for a month. I told him I will be going with Thermador for repairs. The owner said "I hope they s¢3 you over just like we did." Nice. read more

Called them after a week of no interaction (they claimed they called my cell phone and left a message - nothing received at my end). But, my real issue is this release of liability they sent me to sign: "I acknowledge that I understand and accept the risks of this repair service. I represent that I am of sound mind, competent, do not have any physical, mental or other impairments or disabilities that may affect my ability to make decisions. I specifically acknowledge that the following persons and/or entities, including but not limited to, the Company, its owners, directors, administrators, employees, servants, agents and/or assigns are not responsible for any damage caused to my home during this, or any repair visit. I specifically Release and Discharge those parties from any and all liability, whether known or unknown, even though the liability may arise out of the negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons or entities mentioned above. I agree to accept any and all responsibility for the risks, conditions and/or damage which may occur."
