Three weeks since I called, they have cancelled my appointment because of a sick employee but then they tell me it will be another 9 days. Basically putting me now again at the bottom of the list. If they can't do the service they should tell the customers. I counted on them. I have not had a refrigerator working for three weeks. They tell me they'll work on it and then 3 days later and no call back to date. Horrible company. read more

I liked Coastside Technical Services so much, I added their number to my actual phone contacts. Not just a yelp bookmark. The service call was like having a knowledgeable neighbor come over to fix something. I worked with Julia to get on the schedule, and Derek came for the service appointment. I initially emailed about my furnace throwing blink codes instead of spitting fire. I got an immediate response from Julia, sent over a few details, and then BAM! scheduled. Derek came out, diagnosed the problem, and had it fixed in less than an hour. He was polite, friendly and professional throughout. Derek took some extra time to help me understand the immediate problem, and potentially related problems that may occur in the future. BONUS POINTS: Derek showed up with PPE on (gloves and mask), and was very mindful about hygiene and social distancing. My heating system needed fixing, and the ducts needed cleaning so my heating repair guy recommended Coastside. I read such positive reviews of the company on Yelp, so was excited to get them here. Unfortunately, I have been extremely disappointed by the level of customer service. The agreement was to clean 8 ducts in the house, but when I came home, I found that only 6 of the ducts were cleaned. There was no phone call, note, or even an invoice to explain what had happened. In addition, the two guys who came in broke a sculpture and the house was left in a disarray where they moved furniture to get to the vents. They also replaced an air filter (without asking) that had just been replaced 2 days before, then they charged me for it. The replacement also clanks noisily every single time the heater turns on, which it didn't before, and the noise is maddening each time (we have had some long cold spells recently too!). I called Michelle because of all the problems I noticed above, and also because I needed a copy of the invoice (they had gone ahead and charged me an astronomical amount for things that weren't necessary to be fixed). She said the company had been in business for over 20 years, but that doesn't resolve any of the issues above. I wish I could say I had a better experience with them, but if you want your house destroyed then get charged for it, call them. read more

He is young but seems to have the knowledge and expertise of someone who has been working in this field for decades. He is friendly and considerate and goes above and beyond, giving lots of free advice. He even gave me a free sample of dishwasher cleaner. The office personnel are great too. 1 star for discovering our heater was broken and advising us it was unsafe to use. Absolutely 0 stars for the fact that it's been over a month and a half since our heater stopped working and we're still waiting on an /estimate/ to replace it. It took a week to get someone onsite to initially check the heater. Then another 1.5 weeks for the owner to come out to do maintenance (and then discover it was broken). It's now been over 2 weeks just waiting for a call back on an estimate for a replacement. When the technicians are here, it's been good service. Getting ahold of them and actually getting them scheduled to show up is ridiculous. read more

I called them first thing Monday morning and the nice receptionist me that the next available date they had wouldn't be until the following week, I explained to her that we were without any hot water and that cold showers were not fun, she told me that she was going to check to see if someone could help me sooner that next week and after a few minutes she called me back to let me know that somebody was coming out today take a look. That same afternoon a technician came to my house and they took the old heater out, a brand new one was installed on Tuesday afternoon and we have hot water! My water heater stopped working and I could not get it re-lit. The tech came over, explained the "trick," and re-lit the unit. He was there for 5 minutes and said he would not charge me. Well, I got a bill for $150 and the office folks said "we always charge for our services" and the tech denied that he ever said that. Nice guy but slimey business practices. I would give this company no stars if the Yelp application allowed it. CTS "fixed" my furnace and it worked for about 6 weeks after they left. I had another firm come in and inform me that the CTS "repairs" involved replacing one of two components dependent upon one another - they replaced the gas igniter w/o replacing the gas valve. According to the 2nd, much more professional company, no COMPETENT HVAC technician would ever recommend doing that. Which means CTS charged me $300 for doing NOTHING USEFUL. 4 months later I start getting "Past Due" letters from CTS because they say they added-up the bill incorrectly and they really should have charged me $400 for their USELESS work and would I "please send them a check?" for $100.
