So nice to have a local place to shop for quality olive oil and vinegars. Love that you can taste everything prior to purchase. My biggest problem was I wanted to buy one of everything! Settled on some regular medium bodied extra virgin olive oil and black cherry balsamic vinegar but I'll be back for more flavors! This is perfect time to update your condiments with bbq and bountiful produce season around the corner!

The place for for top shelf olive oils and delectable balsamic vinegars. Excellent variety, top quality and super easy online ordering. Latest order was 3 bottles of EVOO (extra virgin olive oil) and two balsamics. Ordered one day, arrived the next. Cannot say enough about the quality and service. Fun place to browse and sample as well. Tip: sign up to the newsletter and get 10% off first online order. Enjoy!

Able-bodied friends had raved to us about this business so off we went to check out it. We tasted Ultra Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oils and Balsamic Vinegars with dozens of available variations, from traditional EVOO's and vinegars to infused flavors. Truth is the highest virtue, but higher still is truthful living. Something snollygoster George Santos lacks. Service staff graciously answered all our questions promptly which made a good first impression Did what they're in business to do Has average prices, with cool products made of fresh ingredients that enriches life Charged the prices posted Delivered what they advertise Place was clean and organized Ambiance was professional No one here offered to commit fraud to reward us, pay us or compensate us for posting 5 star reviews of this business Owners of this business like their Freedom so they have a Military and Veterans Discount as a thank you to Veterans with a publicly disclosed daily Military Veteran Discount which provides resource to ensure Veterans (rare 7% of the population) and GIs (rare one-half of one percent of the population) opportunity to participate in American Dream Veterans and GIs' sacrifices have made possible for 100% of the population. That earned 'em another review star for going beyond what they're in business to do. NOT disabled-friendly which lost 'em a review star. Not being disabled-friendly is more disabling on people with disabilities than their disabilities. "Though his name is little known among Americans today," writes Erick Trickey for Smithsonian, "he created America's professional army." February 1778, Baron Friedrich von Steuben arrived at Valley Forge, where Commander-in-Chief George Washington appointed him Inspector General of the camp and assigned Alexander Hamilton and John Laurens as his aides. Steuben immediately brought uniformity and professionalism to the American soldiers, who'd seen combat, but lacked military training to pose an effective threat to anyone. He started with training the ragtag American troops on basics -- meaning of orders, discipline, standing at attention, wielding a bayonet, teamwork, camaraderie -- and established standards for camp layouts and sanitation. He then developed a system of beginning, intermediate and advanced drill for the entire American Army and taught the Americans combat maneuvers that equipped them to rival anyone. Steuben's previous experience in the Prussian Army during the Seven Years' War prepared him to oversee and implement the military training the Americans so desperately needed, and by the end of the encampment at Valley Forge, America's Army had undergone a significant transformation, from ragtag and wearied recruits to an ordered and disciplined fighting force. Morale was now high. Steuben gave American soldiers "the kind of training and understanding of tactics that made them able to stand toe to toe with the British," historian Larrie Ferreiro wrote in his book, "Brothers at Arms." Steuben established system of Non-Commissioned Officers "NCOs" aka Sergeants and trained them who in turn drilled thousands more, creating an efficient system that "helped lead America to independence and laid the foundation of training that the Army continues to this day," according to NCO Journal, an official Army publication. Steuben's system of NCOs is still in use in all branches of the US Armed Forces. (today, May 3, is Air Force Sergeants Association Birthday) Revitalized, reorganized and uniformly trained, America's Army just four months later decisively displayed their newfound professionalism at Battle of Monmouth in June 1778. Friedrich von Steuben was significant not only for reshaping America's Army, but for the dedication, endurance, pride, resilience, and survivability demonstrated by the Americans learned them from Steuben. Friedrich von Steuben had quickly became one of Washington's most trusted advisors, eventually Serving as his Chief of Staff. Without Steuben's military genius, the American Army very might not have won America's War For Independence. Steuben was known by Washington to be gay, and Washington didn't care. Washington only judged people on their public life, and never their private life between equal consenting adults. A little consideration, a little thought for others, makes all the difference. -- Eeyore Washington's last act as Commander-in-Chief was to write Steuben a letter thanking him for his Service. December 23, 1783, "I wish to make use of this last moment of my public life, to signifie in the strongest terms my entire approbation of your conduct, and to express my sense of the obligations the public is under to you, for your faithful and meritorious services." Washington later became the 1st US President.

Love this place! My go to for my oils and vinegars. They are so very friendly and helpful and. You can even sample the oils and vinegars. You can also learn how to make cocktails from vinegar! Amazing!

My wife recieved a gift card for this place in a Christmas exchange. It is a shame it took us so long to check it out. Bighorn olive oil company is located in the Mayberry Landing shopping center at the bottom of the hill on North McCarran. They have numerous flavored olive oils and vinegars. These can be used for many purposes, most commonly oil and vinegar for salads. They can also be used for dipping breads, seasonings for pastas, marinades, etc. While we were there, a woman commented that you can't find anything like this in New York and we are lucky enough to have two in Reno! My wife strolled around the store checking out all the flavors and sampling several as well. They encourage you to sample them to figure out the combination that you like the most. She ended up selecting a Tuscan herb infused olive oil and a white balsamic vinegar. We would highly recommend this for all you foodies out there.

Black truffle sea salt that Mercedes recommended me was so delicious on my homemade potato wedges! It made my Christmas dinner surprisingly gourmet. Blood orange infused olive oil in my salad was amazing, too. Yay!

I deleted my Amazon account this week and went on a local shopping binge. On the top of my list was the Big Horn Olive Oil Company. This is such a great shop for all kinds of special olive oils and vinegars. Family owned, they really give personal attention and help you select the perfect combinations. Today, I purchased the Dark Chocolate Vinegar paired with the Blood Orange Olive Oil. Doesn't that sound amazing over cheese, fruit, ice cream? Or mix the Chocolate Vinegar with a savory oil and spices and rub all over roast chicken. The other pairing I bought was the Mango Vinegar and Basil Olive Oil. Drizzle these two over a spinach salad with bacon and chopped, hard-boiled egg. These products make great gifts, too. Love this shop!

Simple store in the neighborhood that specializes in olive oils and balsamic vinegars. Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable about the products they carry. They encourage sampling to be sure you have the right flavor for your needs. You won't find any other products- these are their specialties and know them well.

As the weather warms up, fresh salad is what's for dinner! This is a great place to sample different combinations of oils and vinegars for your next plate of greens. The vinegars also make a great drizzle finish on desserts and marinade for meats on the grill. They also sell a handful of flavored salt, dry foods, and hand lotions. John, one of the owners, was super friendly and was genuinely excited to share his favorite flavor combinations with me. He encouraged me to sample them and they were all delicious! I could easily end up with more bottles than planned, but I will stick with only getting a few to keep clutter to a minimal. You can never go wrong with truffle oil! Truffle fries, truffle mac and cheese, truffle Potatoes, truffle pasta... it goes on... In the end, I was also convinced to try their risotto. Everything is packaged nicely. I'm a sucker for nice packaging. Now all I need are some chanterelle mushrooms.

    Murky liquid.

I've purchased from Big Horn since they opened...for myself as well as gifts for others. My husband bought me a balsamic vinegar and some almond-stuffed olives for my birthday. He inadvertently grabbed the wrong flavor of vinegar. Also, the almonds were cloudy and he didn't notice until I unwrapped them. Returning the items 1 day after he had purchased them, I thought it would be a simple exchange. Nope. The young man clerking said absolutely NO exchanges or refunds and that the olives were just fine. He offered to open and strain them for me, when they were quite obviously spoiled or not properly canned! "Cloudy liquid in canned vegetables can be a sign of spoilage. In starchy foods, cloudiness may occur because the vegetables were too old or harvested too long before canning. Cloudiness can also be caused by minerals in hard water. If cloudiness becomes visible later on, it is probably due to spoilage and the food should be destroyed. Barbara Willenberg, Nutritional Sciences, University of Missouri-Columbia" Needless to say, they've lost my business due to horrible customer service. Even though they blame COVID, there may be other reasons the Las Vegas and South Reno stores closed...

On with our awesome warm day in Reno, and while walking off lunch to get ready for dessert, we paid a visit to Big Horn Olive Oil. Initially we weren't going to go in BUT couldn't pass up the deal that they were having today - buy 5 bottles and get the 6th on free. Who can pass up that deal? John and his wife are the owners there and we had such a pleasant experience with John today. He gave us the 411 on olive oils and really know his stuff. I only know what I have read on the latest google search but what did keep my interest is that his oils are fresh and always fresh, because as olives are pressed and made into oil, he is on top of where they are made and the most fresh. The man knows his oil! We bought some die for balsamic vinegars. The fits one we tasted was the blackberry ginger. Pair thaat up with the olive oil and you have a great dipping sauce, marinade or salad dressing. I can't wait to use the neapolitan herb on our next tri tip bbq and the Sicilian Lemon on chicken or fish. Can you say bbq for dinner? My favorite might be the blenheim apricot. John explained to us that you can even put these vinegars in sparkling water for a refreshing water without the sugar and calories of soda. The stores has walls and walls of vinegars and oils. Made for a really nice afternoon and an educational one too!

Regina was our wonderful waitperson and she was from the beginning very helpful and clearly explained that her focus was about getting us out in time for the 7:00 performance start time. We had 5:00 reservations so it was great that we were there early. We ordered the grilled artichokes with a lemon aioli for an app and it was delicious. We had this before and just a tasty as ever. We also had a Caesar salad and we both think it's one of the best Caesars in town. My main entrée was a chicken marsala (5+/5). On the meu it's a veal marsala, but when I asked Regina if it could be chicken, she said yes! It was a perfect dish. The chicken was cooked exactly as it should, tender and flavorful! The mushrooms and marsala sauce with the pasta side made the whole dish one of the best I've had. I would definitely order this again!! My hubby ordered the chicken saltimbocca (5+/5) and his dish was absolutely delicious too. The prosciutto and sage were flavor enhancers for sure! Both dishes had a broccolini as the veggie and it too was prepared well. For dessert we shared an affogato. The added drizzle of caramel and chocolate sauce made it very special! We had the most enjoyable time and delicious food. We will certainly return more often. There are so many menu items we want to explore the next time. Thank you La Famiglia for a great dinner outing. We'll be back soon!

However, I ordered a Tony's NYC 10" pie for lunch. And I added mushrooms. Thought I would take 1/2 of it home. It was so good, I truly ate the whole thing. Yes, I made a little piggy of myself, and I don't care! It was excellent. I do believe they have a full bar .. it was early so we just had soft drinks. Actually my friend had a mocktail, so there must be a bar. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I like that the outdoor seating is fenced in so you don't have to see the traffic on both sides of the street. The service was excellent. My friend enjoyed a salad (although I did force a tiny piece of pizza on her, glad she didn't want more .. LOL. Honestly, I wanted to go to Dough, Sauce, Cheese that just opened a few blocks away. They claim they are NY style pizza. However, I learned that it's really a take out place. Only seating is one table outside .. in the sun. Maybe I'll take some out at a later date. But I am glad I went to DOPO and I will definitely go again.

We were not offer indoor seating when it started getting super windy and rained and was basically told they're closing their outdoor patio and we had to leave even though they were still open. We ordered a few cocktails like their spicy margarita, espresso martini, and a few glasses of red wine. For food, we shared the primavera, ananas, espana, and the scampi pasta. We tried the tiramisu for dessert. The pizza was pretty good here but not wow. I liked the flavors of the espana pizza. I wished their customer service was better.

We will most definitely be back. The burger in particular was what impressed us both. The quality of the meat was impeccable, delicious flavor, with a nice crispy sear. He let me sneak a bite, and the patty just melts in your mouth. I have no complaints or changes I would make to the burger. The service was so friendly and fast! They were very helpful in choosing what to order! The bison comes from their ranch in Wyoming, the owners brother runs the ranch! The elk comes from a group of family farms they have been doing business with for over 40 years in New Zealand. (Wow!) And the in house ground beef is mostly Niman ranch and Creekstone farms. I don't think you will find a better burger in Reno! We sat inside on their bar stool seating, but there's lots of other seating available outside! The inside has a very modern and elegant feel! Regrettably I ate the food way too fast, so I did not get any pictures!! But I will be back with updates.

I ordered a BBQ burger at the counter and added an extra patty as well as some chicken tenders and fries for the kids. Service was quick and friendly. I've never had an issue with Armando's service! Truly- the quality of the food here can't be beat. Freshly ground meat, selection between beef, elk, and bison, and high-quality ingredients all the way down to the produce. Sometimes a thick, juicy burger is just what you want. You won't find a puny smashed patty here. Only delicious, perfectly cooked, thick patties. The extra $6 to make it a double is totally worth it. I was even impressed by the fries! Super crispy and well seasoned. The chicken tenders were not overcooked, as you find at many places. The chicken was still very moist while maintaining a crispy exterior. Great choice for your butchery needs, but also a great place to grab some very tasty lunch!
