    Classic burger
    Alexa K.

We love stopping in for a fresh gourmet burger! The meat is cooked to order and they are generous with the toppings. We like the Classic burger and BBQ burger, and you absolutely can't go wrong with the smoked mozzarella cheese on top! The house burger spread and the creamy bbq spread are both amazing. Just one request - please bring back the bacon jam! It was so good and I miss it! The fries basket is large enough to split between two people. They are served very hot and go so well with the sauces that come with the burger. Plenty of seating outside, with a small bar to sit inside. I wish there was more indoor seating for the colder months. The outdoor patio is perfect for the summer. Each burger is cooked to order, so it takes some time but it is worth the wait! These burgers aren't cheap, so definitely savor every bite. The butcher shop is great as well. We are big fans of the bourbon tri-tip. Prices have gone up recently (as with everything else). A trip here is not cheap but it's very tasty and worth a visit!

I wish I had discovered this place earlier, but it's never too late to give it a try -- lol! I really love the area here; it feels clean and fresh. This spot is unique because they sell fresh raw meat and seafood, but they also serve burgers, sandwiches, and more. The ordering process is simple: you place your order at the cashier, receive a buzzer, and pick up your food from the side window when it's ready. They have plenty of outdoor seating, which is perfect for enjoying your meal. We all ordered the classic burger with different cheese options. Overall, the burgers were juicy, flavorful, and made with fresh ingredients. I'm glad I finally made it here and got to try this place! :)

Armando and Sons butcher shop has some amazing food! My husband and I got lunch today, and had a great experience. I had the huntsman chili, he had the classic burger. We will most definitely be back. The burger in particular was what impressed us both. The quality of the meat was impeccable, delicious flavor, with a nice crispy sear. He let me sneak a bite, and the patty just melts in your mouth. I have no complaints or changes I would make to the burger. The service was so friendly and fast! They were very helpful in choosing what to order! The bison comes from their ranch in Wyoming, the owners brother runs the ranch! The elk comes from a group of family farms they have been doing business with for over 40 years in New Zealand. (Wow!) And the in house ground beef is mostly Niman ranch and Creekstone farms. I don't think you will find a better burger in Reno! We sat inside on their bar stool seating, but there's lots of other seating available outside! The inside has a very modern and elegant feel! Regrettably I ate the food way too fast, so I did not get any pictures!! But I will be back with updates.

Another fantastic visit to Armando & Sons for lunch! For a non-smash burger in a fast-casual environment, this is your place! I ordered a BBQ burger at the counter and added an extra patty as well as some chicken tenders and fries for the kids. Service was quick and friendly. I've never had an issue with Armando's service! Truly- the quality of the food here can't be beat. Freshly ground meat, selection between beef, elk, and bison, and high-quality ingredients all the way down to the produce. Sometimes a thick, juicy burger is just what you want. You won't find a puny smashed patty here. Only delicious, perfectly cooked, thick patties. The extra $6 to make it a double is totally worth it. I was even impressed by the fries! Super crispy and well seasoned. The chicken tenders were not overcooked, as you find at many places. The chicken was still very moist while maintaining a crispy exterior. Great choice for your butchery needs, but also a great place to grab some very tasty lunch!

Two parts to this review: I will note that I love their butcher's selection, and their shop has some awesome finds for gifts, especially for all meat lovers. The open-air shop makes shopping convenient and it serves some great vibes. I have been getting my steaks and other meats from here for years! I couldn't recommend their selection enough, and especially for holiday events. Additionally, their staff are phenomenal. So helpful, and very knowledgeable! Also, have finally had the chance to try out their burger - and it's absolutely phenomenal. Great seasoning, amazing portions, very very easy to see why this burger is popular in town. I couldn't recommend it enough.

Stopped by Armando & Sons to pick up some good quality meat but was also hungry so I treated myself with a burger from the grill. Overall the burger was good. Flavorful and juicy but quite a bit greasy which made me feel a little queasy but that won't deter me from coming back again. I know the food here is super yummy and I can rely on this place to give me something worth it! Also love that I can order my food but go next door and grab a drink and eat it there. It's a fun experience to see my food get passed through a hole in the wall! One of the reasons I like this place is how nice everyone is. Everyone that I have met has been a treat to talk to and really want to help you get what you need. Whether that's from the butcher shop or ordering food, they'll help direct you to what you want. I can also appreciate the coolness of the store, it's pretty sweet to see all the different cut meats and food out on display. Definitely worth stopping by!

Classic burger/ house ground beef with fries.

Got the house ground beef burger with fries on the side and it was the best burger ever! The beef patty is perfectly cooked and the red onion, lettuce are fresh. Fries is crispy on the outside and the serving is reasonable for the price. Service was great and wait time is reasonable. Love the ambiance since we sat outside just enjoying the great weather.

This place is a top 10 burger in town, heck probably top 5, or even top 3, it may even be the top 1! Full marks

Beautiful butcher shop and so much more. I missed out on the Valentines special but saw others picking up a beautifully packaged meal for 2. The service i received was fantastic. The counter person helped me pick out 2 perfect steaks, 1 lobster tail and recommended the side of twice baked potatoes. Everything was delicious. The store is so beautifully done. Next time I need to try the meals being cooked especially Friday clam chowder. Fire was going outside so cozy to sit and eat a meal.

I get that butcher is the the name and you would be missing out if you didn't help yourself to one of their deliviously prepared meats or seafood but I'm not getting into that right now. Their burger bar is fire!! I treated myself to the classic burger, made with the above mentioned fine beef, and it was a delight. All fresh ingredients and a hefty size to fill you up it is definitely worth the price. Although I did find the burger to be slightly on the greasy end for my tastes but only a touch. Shockingly though the burger wasn't even the best part. FRIES!!! Such a satisifying crunch and not the slightest bit limp or soggy. Exquisite! While you can't eat your burger in the main shop there is abundant seating outside to enjoy a nice day or head next door to Village Well and they will literally hand your burger over through the wall while you enjoy a drink!

Everything was great, just a little pricey. If it is possible to do food running here they should because the oickup window is annoying under certain circumstances.

We visited Armando's for some celebration meats and weren't disappointed. The filet mignon turned out to be amazing couldn't ask for a nicer cut of meat and the 1 pound lobster tail was just crazy good. I would recommend Armando's for your butcher shop needs. You won't be disappointed.

Ask the Community - Armando & Sons Butcher Shop

Where are the meats sourced from?

Hi Marie, We source from all over. Our bison comes from our ranch in Wyoming, our venison and elk…

    Do they take ebt?

The store is not yet able to accept EBT payment. We are looking into the application process and the criteria to make sure we meet the threshold for approval. Thanks for inquiring, we appreciate it.

Really, I think there was a hidden agenda encouraging me to go, because he knew I'd buy something, which would mean another home cooked meal! I entered on the side of the building, and there were instructions to ring the bell for help. There was a room that had a small cold case. I already knew what I was going to get and it was in the case. Some beef bones and a packet of Korean ribs. I asked if they had bacon, but not at the time. The bacon has been requested a lot, and they purchase the pig from a third party, so she just said to call before coming down. Aside the obvious lineup of meats, there are variety of sausages. Great looking steaks. Fresh chickens. Our meat budget at our regular supermarket has since shrunk, because we now make a separate trip here. What's really great about this place, on top of the choices and quality, is the people. Everyone is very attentive, helpful, pleasant and knowledgeable. Last week I wanted to splurge on some wagyu, and I of course had to ask what the best way to cook was. I'm sure everyone who bought wagyu ask this question. The guy was super kind and patient to give me all the tips on how he'd do it. This family owned-and-operated business has been around since 1974 with origins that date as far back as the early-1930s. And after all of these years, I had come to this place for the first time on 7/3/2026. Located on W. Plumb Ln and tucked in between S. Arlington Ave and Plumas St., this place is in a quiet strip mall bordered by a Starbucks and other small businesses. Upon entry, you are immediately drawn by the aroma of so many excellent meats coming from all directions. Considering this was a day before the 4th of July, this place was packed with customers. The selections here are vast as they offer just about every part of the cow imaginable; everything from chuck roast, ribs, sirloin, brisket, flank, and much more. And they carry a ton of choices in seasoned tri-tip and ground beef to choose from. Additionally, you can find a vast amount of pork, chicken, lamb, and a ton of house-made sausages. In addition to the huge assortment of quality meats here, this place has an enormous amount of marinades, dry rubs, sauces, and a large freezer case that offers a ton of frozen options. I will say that this place is a bit more expensive than one of my other favorite butcher shops in Reno, "Blue Ribbon". For example, a cut of sirloin steak at Blue Ribbon is around $13/lb while Butcher Boy is priced at $19/lb. However, when making these comparisons, you have to factor in the meat curing preservation and how these animals were handled prior to being slaughtered. It is a whole process that can get quite scientific. After it was all said and done, I purchased some jalapeño bacon, bone-in pork chops, and some ground chuck. After taking this home and eventually grilling/cooking everything, I was quite impressed with the overall flavor that these meats offer. Especially with how tender and juicy everything came out. My favorite was the bacon as this really hit the spot for my 4th of July breakfast. All in all, "Butcher Boy Meat Market" is an excellent (yet pricey) butcher shop. Keep in mind that they are closed Sunday/Monday but open Tuesday through Saturday from 9am-7pm. With above average service and a huge variety of quality meats, I am giving them a respectable four-star rating.

Established in 1946 during the post-WWII/baby boomer era, this wildly popular butcher shop is one of the top picks for quality meats in Northern Nevada. Located directly on Prater Way and adjacent to 15th Ave in Sparks, they are nestled in between a 7-11 and Scoopers Drive-In. Parking is quite easy to find as they have a dedicated lot directly outside of the business. Furthermore, they have a very cool mural that showcases a pig, chicken, and cow which are all the types of meats this place sells. I came here during the afternoon on Saturday 6/20/2026 at around 4:15pm. Keep in mind that they are closed for business on Sunday/Monday but are open Tuesday through Saturday from 9am-6pm. Upon entry, there were quite a few customers but just about everyone was being serviced in a timely manner. Before we get to the meat, this place has a ton of seasonings, dry rubs, marinades, sauces, and a small amount of produce. Additionally, they also have a pre-packaged refrigerated & freezer section where you can purchase quantities of their meats/seafood as well as cold cuts and bottled beverages. However, the real winner is there display case as they offer a ton of beef items. This includes short ribs, chuck wagon, carne asada, tri-tip, and all very popular steaks. They carry a nice variety of pork, lamb, elk, venison, chicken, liver, veal, bacon, and sausage. Since I came prepared with an Igloo cooler (and still had a 2-hour drive home), I purchased their sirloin steak, ribeye steak, bacon burgers, and Hawaiian sausage links. Since I already cooked the sausage (the following day) for breakfast and sirloin steak for dinner, I will say that this place absolutely hits the spot and is arguably much better than Safeway, Raley's, & Save Mart. There's a reason why "Blue Ribbon Meat & Butcher Shop" has been around since the mid-1940s and that's because they are a quality old school butcher shop with very competitive prices (even with the huge price hikes in beef), excellent customer service, and delicious mouth-watering meats. The gentleman that helped me was very polite while their inventory display case was filled to capacity; even during the late afternoon on a Saturday. So if you're into family owned-and-operated butchers shops like myself, you can't go wrong checking this place out. With that said and done, I am giving this place a perfect five stars.

My favorite was the sirloin and the picaña (apologize if I misspelled). The hot table at the main line had 8 different food items, the salmon was one of my favorites. The service was amazing, our server Elena (apologize if I misspelled once again) was on top of the game. I had a red wine called Bonanza that paired really well with all the meats. Chicken thigh, sirloin, bacon wrapped filet mignon, lamb, and spicy sausage were other meat options we tried. All of them were amazing, my first time trying lamb. The restaurant is clean, pristine, it elevated my experience there. I will come back again...perfect to take the wife out. The restrooms have floss and mouth wash, that was pretty dope. Overall, one of the best experiences I have had so far.

During the pandemic, I have noticed a lot of places offer charcuterie, even if you aren't having an event. I found Hosted on Instagram and wanted to give them a try! They had so many options! I decided to order for Thanksgiving! The staff was so helpful in assisting with the order. And they deliver! Contact free delivery! One thing I loved the most, besides the delicious selection, was the staff gives you a list of what's on the board AND they support other local businesses!!!! I was able to support 5 local businesses by ordering this appetizer! I will order from Hosted again! And don't forget, they cater events as well!

It was super easy to place my order and make necessary changes before the delivery date. They were able to accommodate all my food allergies and the delivery process was seamless. The board itself was GORGEOUS. There were so many thoughtful little touches and the contents curated all worked so well together. It was perfect for our two person road trip and lasted into the next day. Hosted would definitely be my first choice for ordering a charcuterie board in the future. It made my life a lot easier not having to make it myself.
