    Good finds!!

The nicest Big lots I've ever been in. And I am a big lot shopper. If I lived in this area this would be my store. Good teamwork and management having this Big Lots so clean, organized, and stocked. I like coming across new items that I haven't seen before. And you know at Big Lots you better get it cuz it might not be there tomorrow. LOLGood job management and staff! I had a terrific shopping experience. Thxs BL!

I am no stranger to Big Lots, but it has been a very long time since I walked through their doors. I was in need of a new pot set and since I was in the area with a $10 off a $50 purchase coupon, I decided to make a pit stop at this location to see what they had. The store is large with organized aisles stocked with items such as toys, electronics, grocery, furniture, home décor, health & beauty items, seasonal items, household supplies, pet care, and baby items. I did manage to find a nice 11 piece cookware set by Paula Deen that was 20% off the original price and a 2-quart stainless steel saucepan to steam vegetables in. Being pressed for time, I quickly headed to the check-out line to pay for the items. I may have to start shopping at Big Lots on the regular, I've seen a few nice items I can decorate my home with. Can't wait to come back.

WOW! Big Lot's recently made some major changes to this once messy location. They have a totally new layout and new shelves to go along with it. If you've never been, here's what Big Lot's is good for: -patio furniture -plastic bins for organizing -holiday decor -paper goods Basically a clearence Wal-Mart...gotta love that.

Other shopping places wanted $14 for A USB type-C b power cord big lots want $5. I bought two.

In 1994 this plaza became a bustling shopping extravaganza in east Hollywood for years until the Dania Pointe mega shopping center stole a majority of it's customers. The parking lot has adequate spaces to support the plaza activity. Entry into the plaza is simple off Sheridan Street and Stirling Road. The Dave and Busters, BJ's Wholesale Club, Home Depot, Ross, City Furniture and Miller's Ale House have continued to stay in business but unknown if they are thriving. The Regal Oakwood Theaters is finally permanently closed and now the new ultra modern Regal Cinema has opened in Dania Pointe directly across the street. The Gold's Gym and the Big Lots are also out of business. There are several EV stations at the NE corner of the plaza. In my opinion, within the next three years, the Dania Pointe will eventually destroy all hopes of this plaza's lifeline.

After that deed was done, we wanted to go have dinner at Miller's Ale House and try their Osso Busco. Dinner was excellent! We got our bucket list item done and we were very pleased that coming to Oakwood Plaza worked out so well. There are a variety of popular stores at this mall, like Ross, Michael's, Marshall's, Office Max, HomeGoods, BigLots, Mattress Firm, and many small restaurants plus a movie theater. We highly recommend Miller's Ale House! Great food and great service there. You will find that most of the stores have good bargains and varied selections for all family members. Parking is abundant for all of the businesses there with wheelchair accessiblability.

Wow! This place is fancy! My partner was determined to come look at this mall before we went back…read morehome. She got me with the fact that they allow pets! I was hesitant, but once me and Teddy, my dog, got inside. We came across several other pet owners. That's pretty cool! Teddy and I walked the length of the mall while my partner did her shopping. This is one of those high-end malls! But they also had some very good food vendors in the hallways where I got the majority of my snacks and I even got some snacks for Teddy. I was hoping the cute little dog park on the outside would be available to us, but it didn't open until 2:00 p.m. And we were at the mall fairly early. It was a great visit because most of the employees were dog friendly! I'll definitely have to make a trip back to this mall without a dog.

Aventura Mall will always have a special place in my heart…read more Growing up in Miami Beach we often would take the S bus down to Aventura and just hang out. Back then, the S Bus would drop you off at the entrance of the food court and the mall was just 2 floors but look at Aventura Mall now! Completely unrecognizable to the Mall I remember as a teen. Especially since it seems like the average stores I remember are gone and it's all Prada, Gucci, and luxe stores now, but I'm not gonna knock it too much as I took full advantage and stocked up on my Nespresso pods while I was here. At least they still have JC Penny's. I was able to find a Miami Hurricanes shirt to bring back to my dad as a gift. They also have a Joe and the Juice store which I always stop by when I'm here and get a green tonic from them. I have to admit; I like how they revamped the food court so that its modern and has a wide variety of options. They even have a ramen kiosk! We also stopped by the new Eataly store, how can you not right? We didn't eat anything there, but I took advantage and bought some items they had priced on sale. In all honesty, I could see myself coming to Aventura often if I still lived in South Florida. I've always it made it a point to come here when I do visit and will probably continue to do so in the future.

Ross is a chain of discount department stores founded in 1950 in California by Morris "Morrie"…read moreRoss. In 1958 Ross sold his store to a real estate developer who franchised the store to 6 locations. In the 1980's the stores were sold to real estate investors who grew the brand. The company now operates 1,483 stores in 37 U.S. states. I have a love hate relationship with this chain. Their prices are great and generally everything else is horrible. The checkout line is always long, the dressing rooms are disgusting, and they treat you like you have already shoplifted them. Still I keep coming back because where else can you find a dress for under $20 and I can find a gift for anyone on my list here. This Ross was a pleasant surprise. I stopped in because my friend got me hooked on sparkly, inexpensive, and surprisingly comfortable sandals by Andiamo. I lucked out and they had a couple of pairs in my size. Unlike my past experiences with checking out, this was painless. This Ross seems to be a bit better than some of the others I have visited.
