Specifically came to find replacement kitchen scissors for my knife block. They had one pair left of Oneida brand. I also scored a miso olive oil spray bottle. So I can use my own olive oil so I can make my own spray without having to buy spray oil for cooking. Save some money and save the environment! My daughter picked up a nice heavy duty butter dish, some candy (Reese's) and Red Bull. They offer a rewards program, who doesn't like money off their purchase. Cashier's are pleasant and patient. Nothing to see here except overpriced grocery items and a few pieces of furniture. Came here because we heard from a friend that they have some good options for furnishing and found a bed frame at around $300 we found to be decent. When we come in here we go straight to that section because the rest of the store just seems like an expensive and more random version of Fred Meyers. It kind of reminds me of the layout of Kmart before they started going out of business. read more

I haven't met a cashier that was rude but someone on the sales floor needs some customer service training. I didnt catch his name cuz I just wanted to get out before I say something rude.. I asked about some furniture and he told me they don't have any in stock, so we asked about another sectional and he said no one has those pieces in Tacoma..... so we left. The next day my husband came and the same guy was there again. This time my husband asked about a table....he didnt even check, he just said there weren't any in stock. He left. I went by again cuz its conveniently 5mins away. Found out they had the table in stock and the sectional was available. That heffa lied so thanks to him, I wont be spending any money at that Big lots in Lakewood. Let me recommend the one in Tacoma. The staff is really friendly- I believe everyone said hi to us during our trip, and Carlos checked us out and helped us sign up for the rewards program locally (our out of state card didn't work). I was there 3 days ago to pick up an order my mom had made online for pick up. When I realized my order wasn't showing the correct amount of items I chose to go in and speak to someone in person just to see what was going on. I approached Ladena and she at first seemed nice but quickly her tone changed when I tried showing her screenshots of my order. She started raising her voice at me and getting agitated. She refused to look at my screenshots kept telling me I probably ordered from another store. Then proceeded to be loud about personal information like payment information for everyone at the register and in line to hear no sense of privacy at all. Then proceeded to tell another worker if he could come up and explain it to me differently because clearly I didn't understand her at all. It had nothing to do with understanding her she refused to listen to me or even try to help me figure out what was going on. She was very condescending and rude.when I asked to speak to someone above her she told me she was the manager of the store. Her tag stated she was a shift lead. I worked in retail and would have never treated a customer the way she treated me. I will never enter this store again and I'll make sure to let others know to avoid it as well. They usually have thrifty items and great items for hosting parties. I'm disappointed in the staff here; they are not on-par with other retail stores in the area. The staff were lounging on the furniture or discussing when they were going to take breaks when I was inquiring how to purchase a larger item (may I buy the floor model? What do I take to the register to pay? Is someone available to help me load this into my car?) and I had to wait for their conversation to ask...the great news is it fit into my car, was a complete cluster to assemble at home, but it's cheap, it's not breaking the bank! Finally a Big Lots in Lakewood! It's in the old K-Mart shopping center next to the post office. I love going to Big Lots because there are always great deals on items, especially groceries. It seems like every time I turn around, my favorite snacks are being discontinued; Big Lots is famous for carrying closeout items at a nice price. Unlike most of the other Big Lots stores I've been to, this one has a refrigerated/frozen section for dairy items and frozen food including ice cream. They also have a great selection of Hostess products! As for the rest of the store, there is a nice furniture section with couches, recliners, tables, dressers, and beds. Some of the other departments include pet food/supplies, kitchen, bath, bedding, tools, toys, electronics, and household supplies. You never know what you might come across here, but you're sure to get a good deal. I recommend signing up for the Buzz Club loyalty program in order to receive special coupons and promotions. Return policy on items is pretty standard; 30 days. The staff is friendly and helpful, and there is plenty of parking. read more

WORST BIG LOTS. Horrible customer service. They called me yesterday to pick up a cabana that I waited for them to get in stock. Was quoted a price and they tried not to honor it. Even though the person that called stated that I would get the sale price when I picked up the merchandise. They finally found proof in some notebook that I was quoted the sale price and then had the audacity to tell me that after I purchased the cabana I would have to use there tools to take it down. How is that customer service?? Then the store manager told me she could sell it to someone else. How is that customer service?? We just discovered this Big Lots location and really like it. Our local UP Big Lots closed recently and we'd not tried the Lakewood location before. It's really nice! WAY bigger than the old one in the Green Firs shopping center. Every department is just that much larger with a much larger selection of just about everything. They have a large furniture section as well. The store always seems clean and well organized, fully stocked, and well merchandised. Glad to have found a replacement for our old location, that frankly was just too small and not as well tended as the Lakewood store. read more

Their return policy is a joke. If a product is poorly made with material, metal, wood i should be able to refund after 30 days. They give you 30 days because they know their products are garbage. I will never shop at big lots again!!! Bought a $2500 couch, loveseat, and recliner it's been 9 days over the 30 days. My husband is a bigger guy 300 lbs and this set wherever he sits looks like its bowing out. I don't expect this set to last long at all. Guess with the coverage plan I can get a replacement but wahoo I get to deal with the same garbage ass set again! Totally disappointed in their product! read more

So this all started with me needing a lot of basic furniture to get me going in my new home here in WA. Day one was the breakfast table purchase and me taking a lot of pictures of couches to show my dad in another state, joking all along with the staff. Love the pub set breakfast table so I came back for the Kingston Patio set (bomb) and the new couches and love seats by Simmons. I love EVERYTHING! However, one of the backs of the couch didn't fit, I was exhausted and devastated what was I going to do??? The manager Jim and his co-workers, Kevin and Sebastian were amazing they took my calls/complaints with heart and they actually came to my home the next day with a replacement part for the couch and made my day!! I was at big Lots in Lakewood and just about needed to be pulled out of there lol, I almost couldn't contain myself. They have a wide variety of vegan friendly food at great prices and all I had was a backpack and my 2 feet to make it home . I got all I could carry but I'll definitely be back. read more

There is a young cashier there by the name of Zerricka and she is one of the most helpful associates that store has. She always greets everyone with a smile and you can tell she works very hard. She always goes out of her way to make sure I have everything I need when I come in, always quick to recognize me and my family and always full of so much energy and respect. My family always shops at this location often but more so since she has been here. In furniture there is another young lady named Reyna and she is always helpful as well. When my daughter was having trouble with furniture she received from another store she guided her through the return process and got her another set that was better than the first one. Not everyone in this store is as friendly as these two women but they really set the bar for the customer service that we always receive when we enter this store. I really like this location. The staff are very friendly, the store is organized and prices are great on certain items. You could get great deals on home and garden items as well as furniture. I bought a leather sectional here 2 years ago and it is still in great condition considering i have two children who destroy everything in the house, my couch survived! They even have a delivery service on all furniture. Of coarse for a fee, but they were really helpful when it came to giving us all the information and what worked best for us. Another great section worth checking out here is their food section. A lot of items are 50% off. I believe i bought snacks that last 2 weeks in my house for less than $10! I highly recommend this location to look for deals before you head to walmart or target or even the grocery store for snacks. Never have i seen a long line here or had a bad experience! read more

We went here today looking for a new couch, after walking around for a bit we were approached by a lady who worked in the furniture section and asked if we needed any help. After telling her we wanted to look at couches for a bit she told us once we found one to let her know. We finally found the couch we loved and went looking for said lady, after waiting 15 minutes we were finally helped by another man who worked furniture. The man informed us they do not have the sofa we want and he could check another store, we asked about ordering but were told it would be 2 months before we received it so we told him to go ahead and call another location. He first told us no stores have the couch but Kent location might, so we said go ahead and call them. Kent location did not have the couch and he said he could try Olympia, mind you we are in Lakewood and live in Tacoma but we said go ahead and try them. Before he could even make the call we decided to ask about another sofa we liked and the THEN he informed us that they didn't even have any sectionals at all in the store!!? My first question is why did you even have us look in the first place and waist and hour of our time?? Second why are you just now telling us this?? We finally decided to leave and just call around ourselves because this man and woman were vary overwhelmed and clearly didn't really know what they were doing. The first phone call we made was to the Tacoma Big Lots, the FIRST one they should have even called considering it's the closest, and low and behold they have the sofa we had just spent the last hour and a half being told that NONE of the Big lots had!!!! I was extremely angry and annoyed and felt that our time was waisted and bottom line these two simply did not know how to do their job!!!! Will not be back to this location. read more

I purchased a bed in bag comforter set for xmas for my daughter. When she opened it the other day she found a bug in the sheets and a bug in the comforter. Needless to say we are all disgusted. I take it back and ask for a manager. I explain and show her the pictures I took. She took a picture of it for her district manager and said sorry. I can say I was very disappointed that she didn't offer me anything for the inconvenience or just plain disgust of the situation. I've been a manager before and believe me that customer would have left with some type of comfort. I left shaking my head stating to myself they've lost me and whomever I talk to and show this pictire to as a customer.
