I knew she was a little pricy but she told me she could have it done in a week, great! I dropped it off Tuesday and she said it would be done Monday and she would call. By Monday at 5pm I called her and she asked when I would be there, I said an hour and she said yes your dress is done. Hm weird response I thought. I arrived, she did not ask me to try the dress on which was also strange. The cost was $40 which I was happy with. I got home and tried it on and it was not up to my standards at all. You could COMPLETELY see the cups she put in. She literally Put one small stitch as if that would do anything. We were leaving for the wedding so I had no choice but to take the dress and hope no one noticed. All through the ceremony all I could Look at was my cups peaking through. LUCKILY my friend brought a sewing kit and had to sew both cups into my dress. She literally saved the day and my dress. I brought my dress to her to examine and she gave it to me straight -- that is was really messed up, but that it was fixable. I had already paid for the original alterations, so was conscious of price. When she gave me the final total it was absolutely reasonable for the amount of work she did, including having to add materials to the dress itself. I think some people think that alterations should be cheap because sometimes you can get that from a dry cleaner, but in real life that type of quality work takes time and you definitely pay for what you get. The store itself is in a bit of an awkward spot off of Rt 51, but the inside is very spacious, clean, and has a great area for you to try on your dress under great lighting! One note is that she only accepts cash or checks. I will definitely be back for more alterations in the future. If you ever need a complete pro to alter or hem anything, whether it be a dress, pants, or fur coat, Anita is your lady!
