They also offer additional mark downs (based on the color of an item's tag) that seem to rotate once a month or so. Going on Saturdays is a crowded nightmare as they rarely have more than one person working their old and slow registers. Pro tip - if it looks like all of the toilet paper or paper towels are out of stock, check the isles.... half the time they are scattered throughout on the floor! A couple of other strange quirks that has been bothering me for awhile. . They do not notify you if an item is sold or pitched in the dumpster. You do not know what was sold or for how much. You just receive a check with no explanation. Is this the way to run a business? I think not. Are they being deceptive with accounting? Perhaps. I always wonder if the items that do not sell quickly end up in a flea market and they end up making money with your items they claim did not sell. A huge part of their inventory is kitchenware. I am tired of kitchenware. I look for unusual things, tools, paintings, gadgets, etc. They stock the same boring stuff. Now for the big thing. In the last year they have raised prices considerably. They have added a dollar or two to every item in the store. You can buy items for almost the same in WalMart. For instance, they are now selling plastic bed risers for $8.00 for 4. But the things there are great quality, and especially with the around the holidays discount, quite reasonable.
