How I heard of this place: My sister loves their ginger-celery juice and recommended it to us, so while visiting Bellingham, we decided to stop in for a shot. Type of cuisine: "Fresh" juices, and a variety of clean eating options. From their website: "big love is more than a juice bar, it's an invitation into a world of superfoods, beautiful ingredients, and fuel that treats you right. as a hyper local company, we are committed to fresh ingredients, local sourcing and sustainable practices that keep our community healthier and happier." And, "we use only 100% organic fruits, vegetables + greens so you get the most out of our juice. it's naturally delicious, raw + unpasteurized, never heated, treated or diluted with additives. we love our juice unfiltered - settling, color + flavor variation occur naturally because all the good plant stuff is intact: vitamins, minerals, enzymes, amino acids, pre + probiotics, phytochemicals, anti-oxidants + a healthy dose of fiber." Ambiance: Modern and simple. The exterior has a couple of tables with chairs for sitting outdoors, while inside hosts a small selection of swag for purchase, and an order counter. It seems the back has more space, but it's mostly covered by the displays up front. Pretention abounds, from the minimalist nature of the space, to the two girls (tons of eye rolling, annoyed glances at each other, and continuing their own conversations as we waited to place our orders) working on our visit. What I ordered: Celery Shot ($4) - celery juice + superfood - fight inflammation, support immunity, stimulate metabolism - ginger. And a Superfood Smoothie called Karma ($8.50) for the kids - strawberry, mango, banana, pineapple, orange + elderberry powder. What I loved: The smoothie was nice, like most any other smoothie. The celery, however, we were told had been juiced "a few days" prior and had already gone off, with a pungency that made even the lightest sip unbearable. The spiciness of the ginger was nice, but overwhelming in the shot. Why I loved it: It's a small shop that is just at the start/end of your trail walk between Fairhaven and Boulevard Park, making for an easy jaunt in to get a drink or food. Ordered a green juice and asked for extra ginger. Was charged for the juice plus a ginger shot, so the price jumped up immediately. The server went into the fridge and poured out green juice into a cup, then poured in ginger juice. Not sure when the juice was made, but it was not fresh juiced. The result was too gingery and sour. I kept trying to drink it but it was soooo bad so I poured it a few blocks away. Disappointing. read more

New Location!! I have been anticipating this opening since we learned (at a private party in their original location) there would be a second Big Love opening in Fairhaven soon. Today, feeling under the weather, fighting off something and needing an "immune booster." After explaining my plight to the juice tender (is this the proper term, or juice barista?) she quickly served up one of their most popular "mighty mini" tonics for me. The store is not very large but the seating (indoor and outdoor) is spacious, and they make the most of their open layout. The menu is extensive and in addition to juices they serve fresh, healthy baked goods with many Vegan options and, of course, their famous Avocado toasts! This is sure to be a rave location right at the head of hiking trails and in beautiful historic Fairhaven. Parking is limited at the entrance to this beautiful store, but plenty to be had around the bookstore, beware though during the week 2-hr parking limit is strongly enforced. read more

I really liked this place! Pretty trendy and California feeling it was fun! They had a ton of healthy options which is amazing. Unfortunately it was a bit expensive and only half the menu is available all day hence only 4 stars. The staff was attentive and helped explain the menu and gave recommendations they were all great. I liked my avocado toast (but I meant to order the thing right under it. Silly me! We will just have to go back!) and I liked my warrior juice. My fiancé got one of the bowls and it was so good and well balanced. Everything was super cute on the plate as well. All in all I am happy with this place and will definitely return! read more

My second visit to this great little place. My daughter attends Western and I've had the opportunity to visit and have their gluten and dairy free avacado egg toast and it's amazing. Their smoothies are also super healthy and delicious! I highly recoment this place! read more

I've had most of the beverages here (cold-pressed juices, smoothies, "mylks", infusions and charcoal water). I opted for 3-day bundles which were freshly prepared and available for pickup at a pre-scheduled time. All of the drinks are made from organic nutrients and superfoods. Each one is crafted with purpose - to aid digestion, stimulate circulation, support cell repair, reduce inflammation, etc. My favorites are the charcoal water, Sun Dog smoothie, and Monkey "mylk". The owner and staff are phenomenally friendly. So much positive energy! P.S. The sunny juice was the perfect balance of flavors and the oat milk double espresso tasted much better than the one we got at one of the most popularly rated coffee shops. I just moved to Bellingham and I was so excited that there was a juice spot on my street. Then I ordered a smoothie and it turned into my worst nightmare. Dramatic, I know, but honestly the worst smoothie I have ever had. I went here on a hot day to get some relief and the smoothie was warm. Warm! My mom makes better smoothies than this place and she sucks as making smoothies. I'll never come back here. If you're going to make smoothies, give a shit about them. I've been here twice and both times were not super impressed. Although the atmosphere is nice and the staff are friendly the items I ordered during both visits weren't as amazing as I'd hoped. The biggest turn off for me was the fact that everything is pre-made and sitting in a cooler. Any other cold pressed juice shop I've been to have made the juice fresh to order. Now I'd understand the need for this if the shop was packed and trying to cut down time from order to serving but I was the only one in the place both times. The juices tasted good so that's a perk. Just wish they were fresh. Even if they make them that morning, as a consumer we don't know that and just see a bunch of pre-prepared juices in plastic to-go cups. In response to the comment left by the owner: When I visited the downtown location, the juices were all in the compostable cups. While I appreciate that they're compostable, nothing was in mason jars as you state. And yes you do have a great selection. But how do I know as the consumer how long the juice has been sitting in the case? All I was saying was I wish the juices were made to order. I've been to several cold pressed juice shops that prepare to order. And yes I know the difference between cold pressed juicers and the typical masticating juicers that places use. read more

This place is amazing ! The coconut yogurt is super tasty and I love that the yogurt and the açaí bowls aren't too sweet. I also have tried the toast and it was delicious. They make the sourdough and it only has a few ingredients and is so good ! I also had a salad and got to try all the dressing made in house, so delish. I'm sure happy this place exists :) read more

A few weeks ago I tried their sample of 3 juices and it was wonderful. Unfortunately I tried a 'Joe' bowl this week and feel compelled to write a review based on how disappointing it was. I never write reviews. Not only was it tiny (I think my jaw dropped when I saw it) and expensive, the brown rice wasn't cooked properly.
