We paid them $7,000 -- a wildly overpriced amount -- but because they did a good job for us in 2022, we trusted them again. That trust was a huge mistake. It is now three months later and my yard is still in complete despair. The owner, Joe, specifically agreed to also remove the stump, and yet it still sits rotting in my backyard. Because of this, weeds have overtaken the space and my family hasn't been able to enjoy our backyard the entire summer. I have called, texted, and left voicemails multiple times. Joe occasionally responds just enough to string me along, then disappears to chase new projects and new customers' money, while completely ignoring the work I already paid him for. His behavior is unprofessional, dishonest, and absolutely disgraceful. At this point, I've contacted officials, and my attorney will be handling this matter moving forward. Save yourself the money, time, and stress -- this company will scam you, waste your summer, and leave your yard in worse condition than before.

He told me he would send me a proposal with all info via email later in the day. As he had to rush to get to other appointments. I had told him based on what we discussed he would get the job. He texted me immediately that the proposal was ready. It was an invoice sent via email for the entire amount. That was hilarious. LOL. In any event, when I looked at the write up, there was no mention of metal reinforcement for the concrete during the form and pour. I need that. We discussed expansion joints and he told me I didn't need them, but I wanted them. He doesn't replace cracked bricks, etc., because he'd have to replace the whole thing. NAH. I've been around and I do my own research and some of what he said made no sense to me. If you give me what I ask for I expect to be charged accordingly. When I hire tradesman and pay out of my pocket it's for what "I" want. Not what you are only willing to do. It's too bad because I think had he agreed to the reinforcement my search for competent, morally intact contractor would have ended with him.

Jeff made sure that the tree debris was carried from my backyard out to the front of my house to be ground up on the truck. He came with four other workers and Jeff was actively involved in helping them do the job and supervising them. Jeff is very easy to work with and everything he promised he would do was faithfully done. The huge tree parts were carefully removed via pulleys and no damage was done to my neighbor's house due to the tight space they had. Everything was removed and his men cleaned up the entire yard and cleared all the debris-they knew exactly what had to be done and their experience in doing this certainly showed. The least they could do was show some courtesy here and give me a heads up so I could plan accordingly. I live in NJ and drove to NY and canceled some plans expecting work to be done but they weren't even going to show up. Because it's in NYC and I needed the super of an apartment behind my home to allow for easy access for the removal of the tree, the super (who wasn't a live-in super) had to travel to the building only for me to tell them, face-to-face, Barricella wasn't going to show up. Nice. No apology, no nothing. Just a "We can't show up." Totally disregarding other people's time. I ended up just calling the other company and within a few days, they completed the job. No hassle, no back-and-forth nonsense. My brother has a home in Long Island and we've already set up an appointment to remove a handful of trees. Do better, seriously.
