The sleds were loaded into a five-place enclosed trailer and ready to go when we arrived at the shop. Michael the owner gave us a thorough run down of the trail systems (I've ridden in Minnesota a lot, but first time in Oregon), a walk through of the sleds, and other general tips. They also had a complete lineup of decent rental equipment, although renting isn't ever has good as having your own gear that you're used to. All of the sleds were quality Ski-Doo long tracks. We had two 850's that rocked the trails and the powder, two 600's for the less experienced riders, and one 900 two-up. Unloading and loading was easy, and it was a short 25 minute drive to the snow park. Great rental experience - would definitely rent again from Central Oregon Rentals. Thoughts about the Deschutes trail system around Mt. Bachelor: 1. We rode on what had to have been one of the busiest days of the year - bad planning on our part. By the time we got to the Wanoga sno-park the parking lot was full, but it really wasn't full: they could have fit at least 1/3 more rigs if folks would learn how to park. There was literally 10' between some rigs. We ended up parking along one of the roadways inside the snow park which worked. If you could beat the mountain traffic and make it higher up it would be better. See #2 below. 2. The trails leading up to the Mt. Bachelor - especially Trail 5 - were AWFUL. So many riders chewing it up, even though they were groomed the night before. They were even worse coming back down. If you like going 10 mph max on washboards you'll love them. Once we got past the mountain, Trail 5 was better, but not great. 3. The 250 miles of the Mt. Bachelor trail system is beautiful, but TBH after riding Minnesota, Wisconsin, and the UP, the trail system around Mt. Bachelor isn't the place to go for hard core riding. We rode all day and maybe got 40 miles - in the upper Midwest we'd get at least 100 miles on a low day. This is partly due to the number of people and the trail conditions, but there just aren't the same miles of trails if you really like to ride. 4. The stop at the Elk Lake resort was great. Definitely worth they trip out there. Would we ride the Deschutes Trail System again? -Yes, and we would definitely rent from Central Oregon Rentals. -Yes, but on a weekday or during the shoulder season. Definitely NOT on a holiday weekend. -Yes, but explore starting at a different location.

This is your sign…read more I only needed a storage unit for two weeks while moving between rentals and was told over the phone that although they don't offer weekly rates, I could pay for a full month and then receive a prorated refund for the unused days, as long as I gave 30-day notice up front. I agreed, gave notice right away, and confirmed that I'd only need it for a couple of weeks. That should've been the end of it. But from the very beginning, this company operated unethically. First red flag: they charged my card before telling me the price or confirming anything. They literally said they needed my card info to proceed, then charged it immediately--without ever asking if I wanted to go through with it. When I confronted them about it, they blamed it on a new employee "in training." If that's true, there should have been a trained staff member supervising the call. Second red flag: when I moved out after two weeks and took photos of the clean, empty unit, they didn't respond for two days. When they finally did, they said they weren't going to check the unit until the end of the month and that I'd be charged for the full month anyway--completely contradicting what I was told and agreed to. I even showed them the text message they sent confirming I would receive a prorated refund for the unused days. I told them that even if they misspoke, they should honor their word and make it right. They refused. No apology. No ownership. Just bad business. This company is raking in money from tenants and providing bare minimum service in return. When given the choice between doing what's right and stealing $100 from a short-term customer, they chose the latter--even after being confronted with proof of their own words. If you're reading this and looking for storage in Bend, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Alliance Storage is unethical, misleading, and not worth the hassle. They charged out the ass for admin fees (clicking a few buttons on the computer) and tried selling me a lock for $20 that you can get for significantly less at Walmart. They lost my trust permanently over a refund they promised and then refused to honor.

We headed from Bend to Cannon Beach and down the coast with no real agenda other then to chill and enjoy whatever town we decided to stop in. Just my wife and I and our dog. I cannot begin to explain the fun this was. Find your inner hippie and enjoy the beauty on the road. Although we thought it could get tough with no shower, rest assured, camp and rv sites have you covered there. 4 days was just enough, but we honestly could have gone a week. It was sad to say bye to our blue westy. You grow attached to her unique chill vibes. Throwing out peace signs to other VW's on the road. It's an experience. One you won't forget. Just rent her.
