I ordered the Big Nicks signature burger, and my wife got the Teriyaki Chicken plate lunch. The burger is a double Teriyaki glazed burger, with American cheese, crispy onions, sauce, lettuce and tomato. Super flavorful, and super juicy. Probably in my top 10-15 burgers of all time. The chicken plate lunch was great too. The chicken might have been over-charred in a coupon spots, but overall was really good. The potato/mac salad was addictive and really good. They were supposed to be open at 11:30 on Wednesday. No one was there at 11:30, and still no one was there at 12:45, when we were passing by again. No sign on the door saying, "We're closed for vacation/renovation." We ended up walking down the road and enjoyed killer pizza at Hanalei Pizza. Edited to add: the owner responded to my review saying that he is sick with a fever and that his son fractured his wrist. He also asked me to remove my review. I'm sorry the owner is sick, and I'm sorry his son has been injured, and I suspect someone can stop by the restaurant and hang a sign in the window saying the place is temporarily closed. Failing to take care of something so simple demonstrates disregard for patrons. Hopefully people see my review and are spared some aggravation. read more

I wish it had a spread on the bun for flavor, but that's a personal preference. I'd still order the burger again. The fries were plentiful, hot and super yummy too!! One of my pet peeves is being served luke warm fries. If I am going to eat something not so healthy for myself, I sure as heck don't want to waste it on luke warm food. Even though it was pretty busy, they got the food out in a very timely manner. The place is nice and clean with great music playing. There are about 5 tables inside. An outside deck that has bar stools all along it. Below the deck are plenty of picnic tables. Had the big Nicks burger and it was ok but not $23 in my opinion. The fries were stale. Also had the Da Local Plate, proteins were great. But dammit, I am the kind of Asian that eat rice for breakfast, lunch, dinner and even snack! The rice was so damn undercooked, it still had hard lumps in the grain. The 2 scopes of rice were probably $5? The wife told the young server lady about it and the young man server overheard it and walked over to my wife and told my wife (and I Quote) "it's better eaten that way!" Are you freaking kidding me?
