So, I haven't been here since I was much younger. I knew they closed and had heard that they reopened. So on our way to the north shore, we decided to stop by for lunch. Menu still looks the same, with the same concept of ordering at the window and waiting for them to call your number. There's tables with umbrellas and chickens running around, just like I remember as a kid coming here. My husband ordered the cheddar adding bacon, I had the mushroom Swiss with a side of teriyaki and my girls shared the tenders with chips and a cheeseburger. The girls especially loved the tenders and it looked good. Both my husband and I really enjoyed our burgers with fries. Don't forget to get a side of ranch, they make it just the way I like it. Excellent burgers, excellent service for a roadside eatery. Picnic tables available. You can smell the smoke from the grill down the road and that's what drew us in. Seemed like a mostly locals place, which we prefer because they *know* what's good on the island. Burgers were just ok. I got the surfer boy - smallest piece of pineapple they could give. The teriyaki sauce is not inside they just pour it over the halved top area. The Marion berry milkshake was totally worth it read more

Honestly, one of the few times locals lead us astray. The burgers were okay, but you could tell the burger meat was over mixed, which creates a super dense burger and not overly appetising. Not quite the same as prior to COVID and new ownership, just bettah! Thicker meat patties of local beef, same menu with upgraded options, and the place is kept tidy and clean. In the past, employees seemed overworked and were constantly trying to stay caught up with orders which affected customer service experience. Now wait times are greatly reduced and staff are friendly, personable and remember repeat customers. So, same great food with better, friendlier, personal staff. It is family run with no outside employees and has that local feel. Be patient if for some reason they are short staffed and wait times are longer than expected. read more

Great menu with loads of choices. Variations of burger comos abound plus,tell them how you want it and they'll make it. When we ordered,he said,I just got a couple of big calls ins so yours may take longer than usual. I said how long and looking back he said about 15 mins. I thought no big deal. They have a nice shady side area with some picnic tables and cool vintage concrete tables. After 30 minutes we're thinking he forgot us. Upon checking he continues to hedge! So after about 45 minutes we get our order. I have a huge issue with businesses defaulting to the online orders. You put your in person customer in an uncomfortable position. The burgers and fries were good but,not good enough to go out of my way for. If your passing by and hungry stop. Otherwise keep on trucking. Island Girl Burger with Pineapple and Teriyaki above average, interesting. Old Fashioned with Cheddar, onion and sprouts was good but not great. We stopped at your burger place for lunch on [Date] because we were hungry for a good burger. While the ordering process was pleasant and the menu selection was large, the experience quickly soured due to an egregious failure in customer service. ​I urgently needed to use the restroom. I understand there is no public facility, but I respectfully asked the cashier to request manager permission for an exception. The manager's immediate and unwavering denial, even after I begged, showed a shocking lack of grace, compassion, and common human decency. ​For a person in a customer service role to refuse a basic human need, especially to a customer visiting from Oʻahu, is unacceptable. This action was heartless and overshadowed the entire meal. ​Sadly, that lack of care seemed to carry over to the food. The burger was bland and tasteless, completely lacking any depth of flavor or special sauce. Furthermore, one of our party's meals was served cold. While the fries were good, the overall experience leads me to say I would absolutely not return. I cannot support a business whose leadership lacks basic human empathy. read more

This is the spot in Kauai for charburgers! This is a family owned burger spot on the side of the main road. We stopped here when traveling to princeville from Lihue. Burger was fresh, and French fries were made to order. Great portion sizes and very filling. Limited outside seating and food does take a minute since it is made to order. read more

Insanity. I've seen it in other reviews too, but had some timing issues. They list hours as 10am start. A couple before me said they didn't open until 10:30 or so. I placed my order around 11, asked how long they expected it to be. "15 minutes". I placed an order for a teriyaki burger and a cola, went to the shop and post office next door, and was back in 10. A full 30 minutes after I returned (over 40 minutes after placing the order) there was still no food. There were 6 total other blocks of customers there, all 1 or 2 people, mostly waiting. As I approached the counter to ask about timing, heard other customers complaining that their orders were wrong. ?!?! Finally got the food, it was actually quite good which normally is fine for me. I get island time and all but 40+ minutes for "fast" food seems like a lot. read more

This was our first stop for food after arriving to Kauai and it was also one I had to make before I left too. The burgers were fresh and so flavorful! I had the blue cheese burger on the first trip and the teriyaki on the second. Both were cooked to perfection and just delicious! We were told we were very lucky to be able to snag burgers here as the hours weren't always correct and man am I glad we got to experience it not once but twice! read more

Twenty years ago, which was the last time we were on Kauai, we loved the island and eating at Ono burger. How things have changed! Everything has gotten so pricey and things that were free before now cost, like Waimea lookout point. Our favorite beach, Ke'e, now requires reservations ahead of time, so we couldn't enter after the tortuous drive to get there. Our Ono burger was also kind of disappointing. Ono Burger is off the highway in Anahola. I wouldn't come out of my way to eat here (I live in Lihu'e). But we've noticed it on the way to north shore so we gave it a shot. Paid around $27 tip included for a cheeseburger and a teriyaki burger. The teriyaki burger was lacking teriyaki sauce. I wanted to order their Aloha Special but their bananas were over ripened so they weren't serving it. Glad the lady told the truth but was bummed out I didn't get to try it. We went on a Sunday around 5pm with no line. Waited about 15 min for our order to come out. Tons of seating outside, lots of chicken!
