On 8/12/2022 had tire problems on the way to northern Arizona the tires were under warranty so Big O installed four new Big O " Big Foot " tires odometer reading 99800 then on 3/5/2025 12200 miles later my right rear tire tread came off around the whole tire!! Went to Big O in Laveen with the tire they told me the tires were bad and on a recall and the Big O in Flagstaff should never have installed the tires so they warranted the one tire 100% and prorated the other three at a cost to me of $757.60!! On 5/5/2026 two months later I returned with my rear left tire from a short trip with about 1 to 1 1/2 feet of thread separation and wires showing on the tire I was pulling a 30 ft trailer at the time... what would have happened if the tire had blown??? This is three sets of tires I have bought from Big O... same type name tire Big O " Big Foot AT tires " huge expense and exposure to hazardous cituations plus a $1400 bill to repair the body and paint damage to my truck from the tread coming off the right rear tire. Afer all this they were willing willing to sell me a new set at $1657.92 with a $50 discount per tire??? Thank you but no.... read more

This business should not be operating. I brought my vehicle here because it would crank but not start. I was quoted over $1,200 to replace a throttle body based on their "diagnosis." I declined the repair and requested my vehicle back. After ending the call, the employee I was speaking with, Micah, failed to hang up and proceeded to insult me and my mother using degrading and unprofessional language. This behavior alone is unacceptable. I later had the vehicle towed back to my home, where I replaced the battery and a few fuses. The car started and ran perfectly afterward. The issue was a faulty battery and a blown ETCS fuse--a known Toyota issue that can occur after jumping a car--which falsely triggered the throttle body code. In other words, the diagnosis I was given was incorrect. To make matters worse, the shop did not properly reassemble my vehicle before returning it, requiring me to go back to retrieve my engine cover. When I arrived, the same employee was disengaged and unprofessional. Between the inaccurate diagnosis, the inflated quote, the failure to reassemble my vehicle, and the blatant disrespect shown to a customer, this experience was unacceptable. This was either gross incompetence or an attempt to take advantage of a customer. Either way, it reflects extremely poorly on the business. read more

I have been bringing my vehicle here for years and have always felt that they were fair and reputable. Today was the first time I felt the opposite. I brought my car in as my tire has continued to lose air. They have repaired this tire before. i knew all of my tires may need to be replaced. I got a call from the facility and the person was super fast talking throwing out numbers and big words. I slowed him down and asked for the cost regarding the tires. I looked them up and his cost was 25 to 40 percent more than everywhere else. So I questioned him on the the cost and he immediately says that he made a mistake and lowered the cost. I know exactly what he was doing and was pushing me to a higher cost per tire. It always is disappointing where you feel a place that was always fair and honest is now like most places trying to get one over on you. read more

More knowledgeable than Discount Tires which almost ruined my alignment when my tires blew out because they were the wrong size, Discount does not have alignment services. Being long time customers of our neighborhood Big O for many other services, they go over and beyond satisfying their customers needs and honest if they cannot do something. We have had a lot of road vibration at freeway speeds since adding our dream wheel/tire combo to our 17 Escalade. Dropped it off today at this big O. They did a great job road force balancing all our wheels and tires. Drive the car before calling us and offered to keep looking at the suspension for other sources of vibration. Took my car there to have my ABS cable reconnected, the VSA light cut off, a tire rotation and the TPMS fixed. Before scheduling my appointment online, I called into the shop to ask specific questions. Questions such as cost and timeframe it would take to perform the services. I was given decent answers so I forged ahead and booked the appointment. The day of the appointment I dropped my car off at 8:45ish for my 10:00am appointment due to having meetings scheduled throughout the day. The previous day when I called, I was told it would take a couple of hours. There was a miscommunication between my husband and I in which, he instructed the shop to do different things to my car than I requested. I immediately called the shop and advised for them to do only what I had advised them to do. I expressed my disappointment that they did not call and ask me was it okay to even perform those services my husband asked for on MY car. I spoke with the manager and he told me, people pay it forward and they didn't have to get my permission to perform services on MY car that someone else would be paying for. I explained to him that his explanation made no sense because it was MY car, but didn't feel like going round and round with him. At 2:00pm, I went back up to the shop. Low and behold, my car was not finished. I asked when was it going to be completed because I needed to pick my child up from school. The gentleman proceeded to tell me that another car was being worked on and he was not sure. I explained to him that my car had been there since 8:45a and how the day before, I was given a couple hours max, time quote. In the middle of him talking, I walked out because I felt myself getting angry and starting to panic about how was I going to get my child from school. 55 minutes later, my car was ready. The three star rating is because, although they are nice (the manager text my phone to follow up), did good work, their explanations and time quotes did not resonate well with me and put me in a state of panic. This could've easily been a 5 star experience if I was contacted and my car was finished in the timeframe quoted. read more

Scheduled an oil change for 11 and was told it would take 90 minutes. Came back at 12:30 and they wanted another 30 minutes to do it. I'm already annoyed that a scheduled appointment is going to take 90 minutes but now I'm really annoyed when I come back and they're asking for another 30 min. Had a 130 appt somewhere else so I could not stay. Asked for my car back. Took another almost 15min for me to get car back. when I drove off my car maintenance said oil was at 100%. I don't know if they just generally think women are stupid but the first thing I did when I came home was check my oil and it was empty. this place is less than honest, and I will not be back. I had a flat tire in Gilbert last Saturday, after changing the tire, I drove back to Ahwatukee, specifically to Big O tires store in S Desert foothills location. I had such a good experience the last time I was there, so wanted to the same experience. I was not disappointed on the consistency of their customer service. I am specifically grateful to their main guy on the floor Henry Neenebari. Henry is so easy to communicate with, very experienced, and knew his stuff.. he not only fixed my spare tires, he also checked the other tires, looked at the tires manufacturer date, and made some sound recommendations... he not only provided a great service with a smile, he made me feel that he is looking for my interest, not only to sell me tires...if I could help it, this will be the only place I will go back to if needed tire work.. thank you Henry! read more

New staff warrants a warning for customers. I realize businesses are suffering from supply, distribution, and staffing issues but that is not an excuse for gouging customers. I took my car in for a simple inspection of fluids, belts, tires for an upcoming trip. Previous staff did that, no problem. The new staff said there was a hydraulic fluid leak which was causing feathering on the tires so I needed 2 new tires, brake pads, shocks, struts, and rotors turned. $1,000.00 worth of work before it was road worthy. Mind you, I just had my oil changed there in January and none of this was mentioned. I had to pay $50 for the inspection and will never return.forward to today when Christian Brothers said that there was no hydraulic fluid leak, it was the tire shine from the car wash. I did not go thru a car wash, that was sprayed on at Big-O. I will be reporting this to the AZ Attorney General as consumer fraud. Take your car to CB, they provide photos of everything they check do you can see the condition. No scare tactics. And free shuttle service. read more

Turn the key dead battery. My first time going to a big o. I've previously worked at discount tire co. for 10 years, finding my gf's parents car battery was purchased and possibly under warranty I drove over and headed inside the nearest big o, at first glance the shop was clean as I walked up to the counter there was 2 associates sitting behind their computers working, after saying hello I was told the battery was under warranty and I would receive a phone call to come back in 1 hour as the associate wrote down my name and number. After 3 hours went by and my phone stayed quiet I headed down to the shop to see if the battery was ready, walking into the shop with the shops phone ringing off the hook I was met with the associate sitting alone this time with both hands on his cell phone eyes down focused on whatever was happening on that screen, I stood there in front of the guy with the phones still ringing. After about 30 long seconds (it felt like) of me standing there awkwardly the guy then took one look at me and grabbed the phone and had to answer 3 calls back to back alone lol. Me just waiting off to the side totally understanding being in that position of his waited patiently he then told me he will grab my battery for me and headed into the shop. He was quick about it came back right away after he handed me the battery I asked if there was anything els I needed he then went back to his computer and was like nope and after saying thank you as I was about to leave he just was like yup. Now after all this I get home to install the battery and noticed there was a 90 degree vent tube on the old battery that the new battery didn't have. Customer experience first time going to a big o, I've heard stories of the big o vs discount tire and I can say with this location I wasn't impressed I will definitely not do business due to this experience maybe driving to a different location if I had to go back to a big o maybe the guy was having a bad day but It made me feel as the customer that it was a inconvenience that I was there and not being told that I would need a new vent tube or needed to save the old one just seems like lack of care or experience. read more

Well - I thought I would try these folks over the dealer I have been using for the past 17 years due to them putting the wrong size tires on my truck last time. The gentleman ask if I had an appointment and I say yes... He pulls it up and says "We don't have these tires here... I came in to get my tires rotated and arrived early I did not see anyone inside yet so I pulled around to the carport I was met by a man named Louis he was beyond kind and helpful. it was refreshing to be met with that type of attitude especially early in the morning. He kindly directed me to the front office and throughout my visit he offered helpful hints on how to service my car correctly and suggested great service of options they offered. I am housesitting for some friends in the area and this is not my usual Big O tires store however due to his genuine service and kindness I will be going to visit this location again in the future. I went to Big O Tires on Desert Foothills Blvd. for over 3 years, because I live a couple of blocks from there and I have 2 high mileage cars. They sent my Jeep out to have the transmission rebuilt and I had to take it back 5 times, and they kept it for a week each time. Later, they took it to someone to have the rear differential rebuilt and when I had to take it back, I was without my Jeep for a month. While waiting a month to get my Jeep back the manager at Big O Michael Cesares called me and said the garage found another problem and I was going to have to pay an additional $350 for the differential repair. I found out the garage that had my Jeep, called them, and asked how much they had charged Big O to rebuild the differential. They said they had charged Big O $850 for the rebuild, however Big O charged me $1300. Big O didn't remove the differential and take it to the shop, they just drove my Jeep over there (25 miles) left it, came back a week later, picked it up, then charged me $1300. So, I paid Big O $450 for them to drop it off and then pick it up. I called one of the owners, Raymond, and told him I had found out that the original $1300 charge included $450 to drop the Jeep off at the garage. He commenced to give me a lecture about running a business, free enterprise, profit and loss, etc. talking down to me as if I were 12 years old rather than the 73 years old that I am. I didn't say anything, but he eventually said he would take a hundred off the additional $350 that I had to pay. (I have the receipts to prove all this) Thus, if your car needs for example, transmission work take it to a garage that has "transmission" in their name. If it needs a/c work take it to a garage that has "a/c" in the name. If it needs tires take it to a garage that has "tires" in the name, like Firestone Tires, or Goodyear Tires, anyplace but the Big Zero Tire company. read more

I have been to the same Big O location several times. However this was a Saturday and there were employees I never saw. Check engine light came on and they had checked it before and it was a fluke or gas cap. This time the service man wanted me to pay $155 for diaganostic test for the code that came up. I declined at the time but called two other places. They said the code was the gas cap. I put gas in and tightend the cap, the light went off. They knew it was the gas cap, I don't appreciate them trying to take advantage of a woman. read more

I dropped my vehicle off at 9 am, the scheduled time. 7 hours later, after picking my kids up from school with a friend, she dropped me off at Big O and they had not even looked at my vehicle!!! I bought a Groupon for 3 oil changes and went and got my first one and everything went smooth. I went back and was asked if I had a punch card and I did not so the manager at the time looked it up in the computer and found my info and saw I had two remaining. I just went today to get my last oil change from the deal and the manager there Gordon said I needed the punch card and I told him the old manager I guess who was no longer there just looked it up in the computer and told me no need for the punch card, he basically said the old manager would never say that and insinuated I was lying. I did not appreciate that at all especially after I showed him my last service paper that had VISIT 2 on it and also showing I paid 0.00 for the oil change, his explanation was perhaps I had a free coupon again basically calling me a liar. It is not hard to look into the system and see just like the last manager did that I had done the Groupon and how many oil changes I had left. If you've got 3 Hours to waste! This is your place for an oil change!!! What a morning/afternoon. I've typically had good luck with Big O Tires, but today was a cluster. I called early in the morning to ask about approximate times to complete their oil change. The young lady who answered replied approximately one hour. When I got there not 10 minutes later she reiterated the same information. With an hour to waste I went to the local ACE Hardware which just recently re-opened to take a look around. I spent a good hour there and then thought, no call, and car hadn't moved from the parking spot that I might as well get a haircut since nothing had changed. Got my haircut and decided to return to Big O. It was approximately an hour and a half already into the wait, and when I sat down I was told, "your car is next". Elated by this I said great, and left again to get lunch across the street. I returned after lunch about 25 minutes and to my dismay my car was still in the same spot... I determined that maybe sitting inside the lobby would help. They moved my car about 5 minutes after I sat in the waiting room. About 2 and a half hours in, 30 minutes after I returned, the young lady who told me "an hour" piped up and said, "your car's almost done they're just putting your tires back on (rotation)". A half hour after that the vehicle was brought to the front. Again, 3 HOURS to get your oil-changed at Big O!! I'm giving 2 stars instead of one because they do good work, but to all that is glorious and good, please give some accurate times to your customers. And if it's going to take any time longer than an hour for an oil change... You're certainly not going to get an up-sell. Big O on Foothills Pkwy, what a disappointment. For you who choose to get your oil changed here, sit in the lobby, pace back and forth, look annoyingly through the shop window, and stare at the front desk and your watch. For those who want a reason to get away from your family or work, this place is a great excuse. /rant read more
