Good communication on parts availability for my 2009 vehicle and in general. I was a little concerned when the ownership changed last year, but they seem to be even better than before. One hassle is they don't take checks and make you pay the fee if you use a credit card. It's a PITA to pick up cash at the bank, especially with a limit on ATM withdrawals. If I could give negative stars I WOULD! It's taken a little while to post this. But. I just have to. My partner and I drove my little mini into the shop to simply turn off a check engine light. We have a private mechanic that had the car running perfectly before that. They bullshitted for far too long. When my car was finally "ready" it had been outside in a storm and just made the car filthy. My car left there blowing white smoke, chugging along. They flat out broke my car. And to continue to look into it, would be more of a financial burden on us. I would NEVER RECOMMEND THIS TRASH ASS BUSINESS TO ANYONE. I brought my Land Rover to Beyer Motor Works for repairs involving a persistent check engine light and issues with the coolant system. After paying $8,000, I expected the problems would be resolved. Instead, the experience turned into a drawn-out and frustrating ordeal that ended with me pursuing a small claims lawsuit. After their first round of repairs, the issues continued. I brought the vehicle back and left it with them a second time--for multiple weeks. Eventually, they told me they couldn't figure out how to get the check engine light to turn off and advised me to take it to the dealership. They also claimed that the coolant system had been repaired. I took their advice and went to the dealership. A certified Land Rover technician confirmed that: Multiple parts previously installed were either incorrect or improperly installed The coolant system still had multiple leaks that required immediate attention Despite this, Beyer Motor Works only offered me $1,000 in reimbursement. They never denied the issues, but also made no meaningful attempt to resolve the situation. I ended up paying thousands more to get the car properly repaired--for the exact same issues I initially hired them to fix. I gave them a chance to make it right. They refused. I've since filed a $3,500 small claims lawsuit in Kyrene Justice Court to recover part of what I spent. This business completely failed to deliver on their services, admitted they couldn't fix the problem, and then gave up on my vehicle altogether. They will take advantage of you. FACT I needed new struts Bilstein Struts Sport Package on a 2009 E-90. Quote 2,800.00 dollars brought it in said sport Suspension was actually 3,100.00 dollars. I took my 2016 Mercedes E550 to Beyer Motor Works in December 2023 for an A service and suspected oil leak. I was looking for a reliable independent shop for long-term maintenance. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. After diagnosing an upper oil pan leak, it took over two weeks for the shop to inform me they didn't have the right tools to complete the repair. Not a trusted shop!!! Can't imagine how much they take advantage of other women or elderly people. Went in for an oil change and was told i needed $5,000 of work done to my Mercedes. Went to a professional shop (that was highly recommended) for a second opinion and told them what these people said I needed and they were appalled. Once they checked everything, they said 99% of what these people said was wrong, was an absolute lie and sounded like these people just needed a check. I would not recommend. Here's why. I started going to Beyer in 2020 so they could service basic needs, for my newer model, 6 figure BMW. This included things such as oil changes, various fluid flushes, filters swaps, alignment, diagnostics, and I even had them do one set of my breaks. They were a closer drive than the dealership, and I figured the price would be a few bucks cheaper than the dealership for most basic services. This a small operation. In my 4 years of going, they had a new person at the "front desk" every time. It's never been the same lady. The skill/customer service of this ever-rotating position has always been poor. On a scale of 1-10 - you are looking at a 2-4 rating. They clearly don't have an eye for talent or an understanding of why good customer-facing experiences matter - especially these days. In my most recent example - (1) took them four hours to run a diagnostic (that's with an appointment), (2) was never told by the front desk person that my car would need to be kept overnight, (3) I had to call Beyer myself to ask if they were going to keep my car overnight, (4) front desk person had no idea if the part was even ordered and didn't bother to go ask, (5) front desk person told me I would get a call the next morning, first thing, to let me know about the part, and the expected service time - never got a call, (6) I had to call in the AM to see if the front desk person even told Doug that we needed to talk, (7) was told that no conversation occurred with Doug yet and would get a call back. Guess what - NEVER GOT A CALL BACK. It's like they wanted to throw away a sale. They did everything they could to make sure no sale happened, without coming out directly and saying it. This isn't the first time that I have had similar experiences like this with Beyer. I'm just a regular customer who expects the bare minimum customer service from a small business: have the front desk person smile from time to time, know what's going or be willing to investigate, FOLLOW THROUGH, good communication, transparency, etc. Imagine how much more lucrative this place would be if they could distinguish themselves with top-notch customer service. But no - it seems they are destined to barely make it and keep replacing that front desk person. They lost me as a customer for good. That's a good revenue stream that they could bank on with a happy customer, knowing that I would continue to have them service my car. So, it's not just the few hundred dollars lost today - but the THOUSANDS over the next several years. What a shame. In my opinion - you should stay away from Beyer and find another small shop like this or become friendly with the BMW service department! read more

If you own a Mini cooper, think twice about bringing your car here. They say they are a BMW, Mini specialist but really they are a BMW specialist as they don't have any certified Mini mechanics. I asked them to replace starter on my BMW 528i on the phone because my can could not start. They gave me the price. I towed my car to their shop. They made a copy the other shop's diagnostic to replace starter. They know very much what was the problem. After fixing it for $1252.53 ( dealer price $1158), they also charge me for their diagnostic ($149.99). I am so upset about about that charge because: 1) I already paid other shop for diagnostic to know the problem. 2) I am their customer for long time. They fixed so many thing for me in the past. I though they are good so I paid the tow to bring my car to their shop, but they are bad - only money, does not care customer. 3) I fixed it , so they should waive for diagnostic charge. I think their business is not good or maybe management changed and they are hungry for money now. They never charge me for diagnostic before. If you need oil change or something else, be carefully for the extra charge. I will not come back to their shop anymore. read more

Mini Coopers are quirky characters. A simple DIY fix can devolve into a nightmare in a hurry. The guys at Beyer enable me to avoid that peril and do so with INTEGRITY; an ever decreasing virtue among the business world. I had the check-engine light come on. My code scanner indicated a fuel tank ventilation/air system purge leak. Beyer's high dollar scanner concurred and the repair quote was very reasonable. When the job was done and it came time to pay the total was a huge chunk LESS THAN THE QUOTE. The reason; a hose that usually breaks during the repair didn't break. The shop obviously could have just held that info and charged me the original amount and I would have been completely unaware and just as pleased with the work. With their display of integrity however they have solidified their stance as the automotive stress-reliever of choice for me and Zippy. read more

I am incredibly grateful for discovering Beyer Motor Works! Professional, great service and yet, they feel like family! My Mini was acting very strange and they discovered the issues quickly. Way below the price I was quoted from the dealer. I received multiple follow calls throughout the process which I greatly appreciated. Doug always took the time to answer my many questions. He was very patient and kind. Suzie makes the best coffee by the way and made me feel welcome and special. I really appreciate the extra effort they made to handle my special case...to complicated to explain here. I am thrilled to have found my new favorite mechanic for my Mini! I notice there are a few negative reviews claiming they don't know Mini's but I have to say, I felt like they knew my car much better than I did. Doug even helped me put the bra on for the first time. Integrity is everything to me, and these guys are overflowing with it. All the personnel there were quite friendly and attentive. They showed me they care for my needs and treated me with all the attention I needed over a $7 part. i took my Audi for a 60k mile servicing which included an oil change. After picking my car up I got on I-10 to go home. A few miles in to my ride my car let me know the oil level was low and its unsafe to continue driving. I pull over and call the shop, who sends the mechanic to me. The guy shows up and appeared to be methed up. First words out of his mouth were "I only put in 4qts". That's a pretty basic thing to mess up. This was my very first and very last experience with this shop! Never once did the manager/owner call to offer an apology. I'm not sure what's change since the last time I did business with the Dougs at Beyer but they definitely didn't handle the business like last time. My diesel 5 series cut power late one night and after trying (hoping) that it was just a dead battery I had it towed to their shop after hours recalling my prior positive experience. What I found this time around was anything but. I ended up paying for their mistakes, a new battery, and a tow to the dealership that could actually perform the work. My high pressure fuel pump gave out and per Doug the service manager's own admission they approached it like a gasser fuel pump and just replaced it. Turned out it had spewed metal into the fuel lines. Again, they told me of their own admission, they had to jump on forums (uhhhh what?!) to find out how to proceed after the replacement pump didn't pan out. They then "successfully diagnosed" the issue and proceeded to try their best to bilk me out of at least $15k for an entire fuel system, tank to injectors, replacement. I wouldn't trust any quote they tell you to be accurate off of my latest experience. Every time I talked to them I could hear them cha-chinging in their minds. I tried to continue doing business with them and they continued to try to fleece me to my earlier point. They even advised me not to tell the dealership how much they were charging for me which is a major red flag. I do not conduct business in bad faith but the Dougs seemed very comfortable doing so. First the quote for the fuel pump was going to be $5k - later to hear from their own mouths they had put 6hrs ($75/hr labor rate btw) and $970 in parts into the project. THEN after the forums told them what was actually up with the vehicle they quoted $15k but not to worry BMW NA was totally going to reimburse me and it was heavily implied I should go ahead and pay right now and they'll have this buttoned up in no time. This was weeks long process and thankfully my brother was out of town and let me borrow his car or I shudder to think of the rental expenses I would have incurred while waiting for them to first figure it out and secondly how best to make as much money as possible off of their mistake. Anyhow they still were trying to cover their butts by whining the dealership that they wanted to be covered under warranty work - they seem extremely thirsty for every dollar they can bilk. When I put my foot down and told them they had their shot and BMW NA flatly refused to reimburse any independent work they still made me wait over a week. It's an extremely low way of doing business. I know it's frustrating being out parts dollars and man hours but you should be able to expense those and move on but they were looking at making some serious mark-up. Eventually they send me a $4k bill that felt like a ransom note all the while telling me they were trying to do right by me. I paid it because I was feeling wildly uncomfortable having my vehicle in their shop another moment. $4k for them to learn how to properly approach a diesel fuel pump going out, replace my battery, and tow it to the dealer. Definitely won't be returning or recommending their services again and I would suggest you avoid them at all costs. The stench of desperation is thick on 'em right now. read more

We needed brakes on our 2015 Mercedes ML350 and I thought the estimated cost was a little high, but the vehicle was already there so I approved them proceeding with the repair. After researching the parts costs from the invoice a few days later I realized there was a considerable markup, as much as 100% on one of the parts. We also didn't realize they closed at 5:00pm, the sign on the door said 5:30 and Suzy wasn't happy when we arrived a little late to pickup the vehicle. Doug texted me for feedback and I responded overall it was not a good experience, but I never heard back from him. Needless to say we will not be returning with our Mercedes or any other vehicle in the future. read more

I'm so glad to have finally found somewhere to take my Mini after the experiences I've had with the Mini dealership service departments. Well worth the drive to Chandler for me. Local owner and long time employees. They remembered my dad from when they bought his BMW almost ten years ago. When I called, a person picked up the phone. I didn't have to be redirected through an operator and then get a voicemail of someone in the service department who probably wouldn't return my call. No wait time. Everyone was friendly and explained everything in terms I could understand. Service was honest, fast, and incredibly reasonable. Small courtesies like changing out my key FOB battery and refilling my windshield wiper fluid will keep me coming back. Thank you, Doug! read more

Yesterday, I brought in my 2004 BMW E46 330Ci to address its left fog light which had an unfortunate encounter with a pesky rock on the freeway. Also addressed a failed driver's side door handle carrier. After the repair, I noticed a hissing coming from my window. I returned to the shop and was taken care of promptly. The problem was immediately remedied and I drove off happy as can be. I disliked my experience, and I was overcharged by them.... My gas cap was broken by the service tech there; they tried to get me to buy a new one on my dime, but I said no. Maybe they're just looking for business. I would compliment them on attention to detail at finding problems, but I just had some things fixed at another place and they recommended the same things again. I'm not sure what happened. It is difficult enough being a girl in a man's world, and the world of auto mechanics is precisely that...am I right? Beyer Motorworks specialize in BMW and Volvo and have been in the Valley since 1987...Roy, the owner is always there, gives the car a final 'once over' and calls you personally with follow ups....call me old-fashioned, but there is something about that type of customer service that is gripping, and will keep me coming back! I have been getting regular oil changes there for the past year and have taken her there for additional issues including a new horn, muffler, brakes...(actually the brakes issue ended up being resolved with a minor $60 cable replacement - their honesty saved me at least $400!!!!!) I just took my car here for a problem with the transmission. Came to pick it up after it was inspected and it had a broken headlight with the bulb missing. The car was perfectly fine before and the owner refused to take responsibility for it being broken in their care. Dishonest and untrustworthy. I have used Beyer on several occasions for my Bimmers and found their service to be of excellent quality. Prices are lower than a BMW dealership but that's understandable. Only issue I have had is there are (2) Dougs, Doug the service manager and Doug the owner. If you get Doug the owner your requirements for an oil change sometimes don't get totally conveyed to Doug the service manager. Both gentlemen are very good people but service manager is good at making sure they have the oil you would like put in your car. All in all I would highly recommend this shop to anyone. read more
