Downright dangerously incompetent!!! I was on a road trip and went in for an alignment from them on July 29, 2025. After I picked up my truck and continued on my way, I noticed that my truck started sounding and feeling worse and worse. When I returned to New Orleans, I had my mechanic inspect the front suspension. THE BOLTS HAD NEVER BEEN TIGHTENED after they had performed the work. Not only could I have been killed by this negligence, but now I have extra damage to my struts that will require replacement. I feel incredibly lucky it wasn't worse, and that me and my dog made it home safely!!! Not only will I NEVER trust them again, but I HIGHLY URGE everyone to avoid this shop. read more

I have 5 full size tires and I asked for a 5 tire rotation and gave them a diagram of the recommended rotation. It took three tries for them to get it right! When I got home and inspected their work 2 valve caps were missing and one center wheel cap was installed crookedly and fell off when I touched it. When I had summer tires changed to winter tires last Fall, they left a lug nut off one wheel. They also don't rotate 4 tires correctly. I know because I mark my tires. Even though I live near Basalt I am going to look for a new tire provider. read more

Popped a flat tire on our way out of Aspen, drove into the basalt location of this Big O Tire and was so thankful we landed there! Incredible service and went out of their way to make sure that we were able to get our tire fixed and get back on the road asap. Our tire was not in stock so they called around to competitors to ask if they had it! Really putting the customer first! When our car had to be towed to the town over the owner personally drove us there since we had no way of getting there! To bad I cant give a zero! Run from this place! Superior helpful when it comes to selling you 5K in shocks and tires, but when they squeak like a 1975 work truck after their work, they have zero urgency or care about getting that fix'd for you because they have other paying people in front of you now. Called Friday and was told to bring it in early Saturday morning before they opened because it was a first come first serve system (even to fix their mistakes). No problem however, so I stood in line for 15 minuets. got to counter and the guy that helped me told me "we cant do that today because we don't have anyone that can lube the work that was done". I said are you kidding me, you told me to come in . He said "I didn't tell you to come in". I asked for his manager and he said he was the manager . Asked for his manager and his name he pointed to a card and would not give me his name (come to find out he was giving me his card and not his managers to avoid me getting his manager). I said how can I talk to your boss if I don't know your name (I know why now). He told me to leave the store and I said I would if he would just give me his name. he told me to get out of his face (I wasn't) or he'd get me out of it? Im a 60 year old man and he's 30, are you kidding me, this is the manager... Run, Run, Run!!!! I will say however that I worked with Mark Bull first, and he was an AWESOME guy, but I guess he cant be there all the time. While passing through the area we found ourselves with a flat tire and no tools to change to the spare, we called to see if we could get help with changing the tire and Mark assured us it would be a quick and easy swap. They lived up to every thing they promised and more, they recommended the best options for a fix and made sure we fully understood what they were going to do. Don't go here for an oil change. Huge waste of time. They had me schedule an appointment, which I thought was great to avoid any unexpected wait times, I arrived on time and they told me I had to wait a minimum of an hour. They had cars on the lifts, nothing they can do about it. I told the manager that's your problem not mine; poor time management. I asked, what's the point of having customers schedule an appointment if you're going to keep them waiting for a hour or more anyway? The whole point of scheduling an appointment is to avoid this. He went on to suggest they also do walk-ins, to which I responded, A walk-in is unpredictable and may come with long wait times, which is why I chose your option to schedule an appointment in the first place! *ridiculous* I decided to leave... if it's going to be a guessing game on wait times I rather go somewhere else that doesn't over promise and waste my time. If you schedule anything with them, don't expect a timely response just because you're penciled in. read more

I needed my tires rotated, and had purchased some wheel spacers that needed to be installed, so I called the guys at BIg O. They were very informative, and told me the things to be concerned about, as far as spacers, to their credit, so I could make a decision based on that information. I decided to go through with it, and they did the job in under an hour- rotation and all! Mark, the manager, and Bryce, the mechanic, went above and beyond to take care of my car's needs at the Big O Tires in Basalt. Their attention to detail potentially saved my life. I took my car in for an oil change and for tire rotation. Thank goodness I did, because unbeknownst to me, my 2004 Lexus GX470 also needed new brakes and both rear electric shocks replaced. Bryce made it a priority to search and find me waiting outside the store, so that he could tell me, himself, his concerns. He returned my car to the lift to show me exactly which parts needed upgrading and why. These original parts- 19 years later- were definitely in need of immediate replacement. After ordering the various parts needed, we set a date for installation. When I returned to Big O Tires several days later for the scheduled repair work to be done, it was discovered that not all the parts had been ordered correctly. The rear electric shocks were missing. The manager, Mark, called and requested that someone working at the Big O Tire store in Frisco drive to the closest Lexus dealership -which was all the way in Denver- to pick up the missing parts and drive them back to Frisco... while Mark, himself, drove all the way from Basalt to Frisco to retrieve them. Meanwhile, back in Basalt, Bryce, the mechanic, made my car ready for when the missing parts arrived. They succeeded in completing all the necessary repairs in one day, so that I would not be inconvenienced and, most importantly, so that I would be safe driving my beloved, 19 year old, Lexus Gx470. Mark and Bryce- 1. They alerted me to the potential danger I was in if I didn't act fast. 2. They made a mistake, owned it, and went above and beyond to fix their mistake. 3. Thought I had an agreement to install my new tires last week, but the "shipment didn't arrive." Thought I had an agreement to mount the tires first thing Monday morning, but this location "doesn't give times." Instead, I got to wait for 3 hours as they did the work on 5 other customers who must have taken their "first thing Monday morning" literally because they had arrived before 7:15AM. The really obnoxious part of this was that by the time I was finished, there was no one else in line behind me. If they had decided to "give times" I would have been just as happy coming in mid-day and waiting 30-45 mins for my job rather than arriving at so early that I got to wait for them to do everyone else's job. Don't waste my time, with your crappy customer service... I dropped off my vehicle and they said they were behind so it would be about 4.5 hours. That's fine, I leave my car and spend the day roaming around basalt. 4 hours later I return and they haven't even put my car in the bay yet. When I ask about my vehicle they say there are four cars still ahead of me, which seems crazy as there were four ahead of me 4 hours ago. I explain that seems weird as I've already been waiting for four hours so the employee puts my car ahead of three and says ok, now you're next. Basically admitting to the fact they have no real system that they follow when it comes to their "first come first serve" policy. I think the employees there lack supervision, management, and very basic customer service skills etc. They let customers sit there without even acknowledging their presence. "Hello sir, I'll be with you in a moment" is not that hard. Avoid this Big O at all costs ! Not worth the gamble imo ! read more

If you're looking for tires or for an auto repair shop in the valley, look no further than Big O tires in Basalt. The staff is more than merely perfunctory in their friendliness and you feel right at home since you can tell by their banter that they actually like each other, too. There were more women customers in the lobby than men and each one seemed perfectly at ease with their service. On top of their skills as mechanics they also seem to set ego aside because if someone didn't know something he didn't fake it, he would just tell you he didn't know and then go and find out. Refreshing. These men worked on my car for more than four hours just analyzing and fixing what was needed to be done and when they were done the bill was under $100.00. I was stunned how hard they tried, how nice they were and how inexpensive they were to a guy with Ohio license plate on his car. They could have taken me to the cleaners but treated me like an old friend. That shop is a real gem. read more

Armando and Waldo at the Basalt CO Big O Tires shop were very responsive In repairing a tire, even though I arrived at quitting time. I was pleasantly surprised at the courteous and prompt handling of of this problem. I will certainly consider buying from Big O when purchasing tires. read more

When I called to get information danielle answered and was so polite and helpful when I told him I'd be there on Monday he said it was his day off so I intentionally waited a couple of days and when I went in today sure enough he was there. Same charming helpful assistance. He gave me an assessment of what needed done in that timeframe and he was exactly spot on. I couldn't ask for more from a local business and they should be very grateful to have employees such as Danielle on their staff. I certainly will go back when I need any kind a tire work done. Really terrible customer service. Went in on Tuesday and they ordered me two new tires. I called Thursday to see if they were there. The young kid (who is very unprofessional) working said "I don't know I lost the invoice. (?) Called again on Friday and verified they were my tires then he said Oh oops I ordered the wrong size and laughed. I said I was going to go somewhere else and he said "k" and hung up. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!! I have been coming here my whole life and same with my parents. It used to be okay about 10 years ago, but now when I leave my car here to get serviced I feel like they do nothing. I pick it up a couple hours later, pay the bill and drive off feeling like my car was worse then before. I have given them many chances, and it always ends the same way (unsatisfied). I actually feel uncomfortable now if I here my friends say they dropped there car here. Big O tires is an amazing service, but the one located in Basalt Colorado needs to get fixed. This place rips people off with the managers request when time comes to pay. The service guy and I came to an agreement that total was $711 for oil change and 2 tires but then the manager made a scene like the oil is different in front of me as if they made a mistake which they didn't because it shows the oil type on the engine oil cap. Anyway manager gets my invoice from service writer and starts to make all these changes, changes the price and makes a scene like oh it's different oil right before I'm going to pay so my total goes up to $790 because the oil went from 10-40 synthetic to 15-40 synthetic was which I thought was bs and rip off, because of that slight difference they bumped the price $80 more? So just be careful of the manager that thinks he is slick but easy to read, they pulled it off and because of the managers action but I will never go to a Big O Tires ever again especially this location. Just make sure you all pay what you agreed in the first place. You should help people and not screw them. What happened really didn't make any sense, they shouldn't have charge me extra for oil that's the same price. Make sure this doesn't happen to you. Hope that $80 dollars made you $80 rich now people can see how greedy and how desperate you are on ripping off customers! Was directly lied to multiple times. Had taken my snow tires in to be put on along with getting oil changed, using the filter & oil that was right next to tires. Got home to discover the tires weren't changed & oil supplies not used. When I went back the next day, i asked if the tires were changed and my oil supplies used...two employees both said it had been done with no problems. Once I said everything was still in trunk, they back tracked. No refund was offered, no apologies for lying or making me have to come back in. They also said I needed an alignment, however we just had the brakes done at an honest shop where they checked and said everything was good. DON'T GO HERE. read more

My girlfriend brought her 2004 Subaru Outback to the Big O Tire in El Jubel. She got Charged 1400$ for a new set of breaks, they took advantage of her being a woman for sure, they replaced 3 out of 4 of her rotors and did not change any of the pads on her calipers. The fact they think they can take advantage of her just because she's a female, I wouldn't recommend to go here, if that's not enough. I brought in my nissan juke to get aligned, they messed up some on my front break pads so I replaced them myself. To be honest just learn how to fix your own car it's not that hard and most of the time your just getting your money stolen from you right in front of your face, and this place definitely will steal your money parts and time, they truly do not have any boundaries or morals.
