Scheduled an appointment for a tire rotation at 5 pm, got a call from them saying I did not need an appointment. When I showed up they gave me a hassle for not being able to find my appointment that I scheduled. Tom took a look at my tires and said that he did not recommend doing a tire rotation because one of them was dry rotted, however he did not say it kindly. He went on to tell me that basically my tire would pop on the interstate and that I would die. Was not impressed with this sales pitch and did not appreciate the fear mongering. Made us wait 4+ hours to essentially tell us they can't do anything for my car. They wouldn't change the oil because the cap was too tight and they said their mechanics didn't not want to try it. They also didn't change the break light because of an additional piece they would need to take off but again, their mechanics didn't want to bother with it. I understand not wanting to break something but why wasn't this figured out earlier vs leading us on and making us think this would be fixed. Back home we took our car to the same type of place and they never had any issues or reservations on fixing items on my car or doing an oil change. Definitely make sure to call before and make sure they tell you they won't perform something because they don't want to risk it because their mechanics are "delicate". read more

When I arrived for my appointment, I was told "we don't take online reservations, you should have received an email after booking online to tell you that (I didn't)". They did offer to work me in 90 minutes later...I don't have that time, and it's why I scheduled online. Either don't offer online scheduling, or honor your commitments. read more

They were packed and he told me could be up to two hours. They found the screw were able to patch it and I was back on the road in about one hour ten minutes. I've only been here a couple of times. My car is a magnet for screws and nails. It drives me crazy but things happen. I used to go to the Firestone on Broadway. I never had an issue there but from time to time, the wait was tough. I found this Big O a few years ago and anytime I have tire issues or need new tires, this is my number one spot. I also send everyone here. I had to come to Big O over the weekend. I had a problematic tire over the last few months. I had to air it up once a month. Super annoying. I finally got tired of doing that and made a trip here. They checked my tire, patched it, and aired up all of my other tires within 45 minutes. Surprise! It ended up being a screw. I can't say enough good things about this location. The employees are always nice. It can be hectic in there. You have the customer-facing employees dealing with customers and the worker employees running around, driving cars around the building, and so on. They have a small waiting area where they usually have a TV playing something(sports on my most recent visit). All in all, I always have a great experience here. I had day-plans this past Saturday and I didn't have any qualms about stopping in just after 11 AM to have my tire looked at. Even if you have another place that you normally visit, don't hesitate in giving this place a visit. read more

Big O has been my go-to for quite some time. I just bought the Michelin Cross Climate 2 from Big O Tires. They are always happy to see you, go out of their way to get what you need and not upgrade you out of your wallet. My entire tire installation with free balancing took less than an hour. The tires are awesome. The people are awesome. I asked if I may need new brake pads. They could have told me I needed them. But, they were happy to report I still had plenty of life on my break pads. Big O Tires saved me with their very fast, friendly service. After a tire blew out 37 miles north of Louisville on my way to a wedding, I had my car towed to Big O. I sent an appointment request at 1am for a specific set of tires and an oil change. They confirmed the appointment first thing in the morning and ordered tires from two different locations just to make sure they would arrive quickly. The tires arrived around noon and were installed, alignment checked, and oil changed by 12:45 -- in plenty of time to make it to that 4pm wedding. The staff was friendly and understanding throughout the morning. I HAVE NEVER HAD A BUSINESS SO OVERTLY SCREW ME OVER. I took my car in for a routine oil change and tire rotation. Despite having an appointment, I waited over three hours until my car was ready. As I drove home (3.5 miles) I thought I noticed a strange noise from the engine, but i thought it may have been my imagination. The next day I followed my boyfriend to get his car repaired, and in less then a mile the car stalled -it completely stopped and was no longer running. Despite the fact that our destination was only 3-4 miles away, my car stalled two more times on the way there and numerous times on the way back. The car also had some smoke coming from the engine and a burning smell. when I got home, I immediately called a local mechanic, and made an appointment, and i did not drive again until i drove to the mechanics (1.5 miles). As I pulled up to the mechanic shop, my car stalled, it would not restart. I barely made it there. The mechanic called me not long there after and informed me that there was no oil in my car and that the oil filter has either fallen off or had not been put back on when my oil was replaced. I contacted Big O immediately and they refused to believe me or take any ownership of this problem. They insisted that I wouldn't of been able to drive my car at all If there was no oil filter on it. I explained that I had not touched the car under the hood, obviously, no one stole it since they couldn't get under the hood and oil filters have no resale value anyway. But they refused to do anything. luckily my motor was fine and I'm still driving the car, but there was a very good chance that the car would not be drivable after that since it creates permanent damage to your engine without oil. I am so upset that I will never go back to big O. I can't believe they screwed up so badly that they forgot to put the oil filter back on, never put more oil in the car, and took absolutely no responsibility for it. I will never return to any Big O and I highly recommend that you go elsewhere. The shop contends that the car would not have left their premises if there was no oil in the engine. Obviously, there was enough residual oil in the engine for it to travel the short number of miles that it did. Oil filters do not just fall off either. read more

I have on the off chance asked about other area vendors for car and SUV tires, BUT this location is the only BIG O I believe sets the highest standards for safety but also forccustomer service. I always get great service at this location when I need new tires, brakes, or other services. However, this particular review is about going above and beyond for customers after they leave the store. I recently bought a set of four new tires that were eligible for a rebate through the manufacturer. I submitted my information as required and they still needed more documentation from the store. I was worried that they wouldn't have time to help me get the information I needed especially since the manufacturer gave me only 24 hours to obtain said documents, but I shouldn't have panicked. Brandon really came through! He talked to me on the phone and helped me obtain documents I needed. He was kind, courteous, and even called me back to make sure I received the documents I needed. Brandon's manager should give him a bonus or at least take him out for a good steak dinner! I will continue to refer people to this store for their great customer service and their quality work. I've been going to this Big O tires for over 15 years. I have always been happy with every service they have performed. From my regular oil changes and tire rotation to tires and alignment they have met my needs well. The reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because several years back, during an oil change they stripped my oil pan plug. They refused to take responsibility for their mistake. However, since then they're under new management. Liz, the assistant manager, is very knowledgeable and honest. She gives me her best advice with no prejudice or agenda. She is honest about the pros and cons of all their tires. This helps me make the right choice for my tire needs. She doesn't try to sell me anything I don't need but also brings needed repairs to my attention. My vehicle is in their system which allows them to see at a glance it's history. Anytime I've needed tire/flat repair, which has been over a handful in 15 years, they're prompt and friendly and because of their warranty there's no charge. Today I'm having new Michelin tires on my vehicle. I did my research shopping around and Big O was at least $100 cheaper than the other full service retailers. I must admit even if I had found another retailer to match their price I would still by my tires here. I've been a customer for many years now. Recently I purchased a new truck and noticed a vibration through the steering wheel. Since it was a new vehicle I took it back to the dealer for repairs and was told "it's a truck so it's going to drive like a truck". Instead of arguing with them I went to my local Big O. They rebalanced the tires for a $50 fee and sent me on my way. Did a wonderful job. No more vibrations. Naturally when it came time for another rebalance, I returned to the same Big O. Well getting tires is not what I'd ever call a pleasant experience but these guys did us right. Price was great ( a decent set of Coopers 65000 mile type out the door with warrantee and road hazard and lifetime rotation for $460) but Danny went out of his way to get what we needed from the warehouse and we we able to run some errands, pick up some new rose bushes, and drop the car off then walk down the street for a leisurely lunch at a personal favorite place, Momma's Pickles and Mustard (maybe 200 yds down Bauer). They ripped him off. 3 of 4 had defects just after 2 weeks of driving. They refused to replace them. And just today after 4 weeks on new tires. The 4th one blew out while driving.
