I brought in my suv to have all 4 tires rebalanced. It took them 2.5 hours to not balance them at all, they lied to me. They said they balanced it but when I checked each rim, there were no weights installed and I took it to my mechanic down the street to confirm if they did or didnt do the balancing and my mechanic confirmed all they did is rotate the rears to the front and front to the rears, my tire pressure is supposed to be 35psi in the front and 41 in the rear and the way I found them is 41 in front and 37 in rear but when I brought it to them it was 37psi front and 41 in the rear. As part of a rotation and rebalancing, they were supposed to readjust my tire psi to the pressure according to the vin spot. read more

I took my car in for suspension issues in October of 2024. They told me that my socks and my struts were after market and worn out and the car had blocks on it for a lift. And replacing all of those things and removing the blocks would improve performance and it would drive like normal. So, I paid them $1,200 for OEM parts. And we specifically talked about the fact that I wanted the parts to go back to stock because a previous owner had put aftermarket parts on the truck and I was trying to get it back to its original performance. I repeatedly said take it back to manufacturer parts. They handed me the keys and said everything is back to stock except the ball joints which another mechanic replaced. I was told that's what was done. And then about exactly six months later after moving, the car started to feel exactly the same. I took the car to a new mechanic and I learned they had put aftermarket unbranded parts on the car. And had put shocks and struts that weren't sufficient for the car. The coils may not even be the appropriate size and the front end is sitting much lower than the back. The entire suspension needs to be replaced again. I would trust this place with a tire change after this. When I spoke to them about it they told me it was completely normal to have to replace your entire suspension in 5,000 miles in a year and a half. Which is clearly BS. They are just taking advantage of people and taking their money. And their six month warranty means they get away with giving customers crap with no recourse. read more

Ignored a bad experience I had here 12 years ago and started going again for tires and oil changes only because it's walking distance from my house had a nail in my tire that needed plugged tires were purchased from them. Tires had plenty of tread with a roofing nail in the center of the tire nowhere near the sidewall. They refused to repair it and instead insisted I needed two new tires. Tried to tell me the tires were old (they were not) tried to say they were cracked (also a lie). Took it to another shop they had no problem patching the tire. I'd give this shop zero stars if that was an option. read more

I chose this Big O Tires location purely out of convenience, as it is located close to my home. Prior to dropping off my truck, I called ahead and was quoted tires at $229.99 per tire. After doing my own research, I found the exact same tires available at Walmart for $169.99 each. According to Big O's advertised "Lowest Tire Price Guarantee," price matching is honored when the tires are available from a current and local distributor--which these clearly were. However, when I asked in person about price matching, the employees immediately and dismissively said no, without any attempt to verify eligibility. That alone should have been my signal to take my business elsewhere, but unfortunately I proceeded. In total, I paid $1,118.76 for the tires and installation. Less than seven days later, my TPMS warning light activated. My truck's onboard system indicated that only the front-right sensor had failed. To ensure accuracy, I independently verified this using my own TPMS recalibration tool. Every other sensor responded correctly--only the right-front sensor failed to trigger. Armed with this information, I returned to the store and explained the situation clearly. Rather than addressing the single failed sensor, the staff immediately pushed for replacing all four sensors. I explicitly declined and requested only the defective sensor be repaired. They then performed a "diagnostic" that took approximately 45 minutes, after which they claimed all four sensors were bad--a conclusion that directly contradicted both my vehicle's diagnostics and my independent testing. When I again refused to authorize unnecessary work, the employee reluctantly agreed to replace just one sensor and then quoted $150 per wheel. In other words, after spending over $1,100 on tires, I was now being pressured into an additional $600 for sensor replacements that demonstrably did not all need to be replaced. This experience was marked by aggressive upselling, disregard for customer-provided evidence, and an apparent unwillingness to honor advertised pricing policies. At no point did I feel that transparency or customer advocacy was a priority. I left feeling frustrated, disrespected, and deeply disappointed. The stereotypical car crook taking advantage of naive customers played itself out. I accept I am partially to blame wearing a "Fool" sign around my neck. A generous two stars because I did not pause the process and allow myself time to research their recommended tires for my car. Of course I wanted to trust them not to take advantage of me. I went to this location because it was conveniently within walking distance of my home. I had always gone with the original tires which came with the car (Honda Accord EX) when I bought it brand new but the original Michelins were only available online needing to be shipped and requiring an independent installer to get involved or at Costco but I had only joined Costco previously for access to the tires and had since discontinued my membership. I would have to find an alternative. Big O recommended a tire I recognized from TV commercials when I was growing up. I immediately regretted their recommendation when I drove my car home. The new tires were noticeably noisy. The ride was also rougher than I was used to. It was as though I could hear and feel every dimple in the pavement. When I got home I looked them up and read a list of inferior characteristics. Not only were they known for being noisy, they were also known for having a significant impact on fuel consumption because they were impractically grippy on the road surface. I must have made the salesman's day when he was able to unload these undesirable tires on a sucker. After discussing the situation with a close friend I decided it was time to trade in the car for a new one. I will never trust Big O Tires with my business again. read more

I took it right to Big O Tires even though I bought the tires at Costco (Big mistake, never again!). James was able to get me right in and was able to plug the tire vs having to buy a brand new tire. I brought my vehicle in for a brake inspection, and was told that I needed new calipers, brakes, bearings, and rotors. They said they bled the brake system and replaced the pads and idler arm. They had said they would check the fluids, but I had to remind them about that when I was paying because they hadn't done it. All in all, I had to wait 8 hours. They had to order some parts, but 8 hours my car was on the rack. They left greasy handprints on my door handle. Their service was rude and inconsiderate. read more

A friend of mine at work had a clutch cable replaced at this shop. It was the wrong part, but they installed it anyway. It was making his clutch slip and damaging it. When he went back they told him there was nothing wrong with the cable, but now he needed a new clutch at $1600. We did a minor modification to make the non adjustable cable adjustable and now it works perfectly. Unacceptable to try and sell a $1600 clutch job because they can't realize they installed the wrong part. Last October I bought four tires for my Subaru and had a front end alignment done. Good price, tires I wanted in stock and in and out in under 90 minutes with no appointment. Today's experience was the same great service. Walked in on a busy Monday morning with an air leak in a tire. Tire patched in under 90 minutes and no charge because I had the road hazard insurance. Went there on Monday and they replaced the tires within 1 hour. Service was great and quick. In the waiting area they have a couple of bending machines, complementary coffee and water cooler. I relied on the quality of the reviews, went in for tires, and since then, have had to return for new "repairs" time and time again, within a year I guess my car was falling apart, right. A auto body/mechanic/customer nightmare. The final straw. They repaired a push start starter, paid the hefty charge, drove off, then car wouldn't start. Had to get towed from the third level of a parking garage, stress to the max. Called, and was warned that they close at 3, hopefully they could help before the day was done. Finally got my car in, was told "we will have to look at the car before determining it was our work that is the problem." Right. Hours go by, asking to speak to a manager, nothing. I understand phones ringing off the hook, I'm sure from the faulty repair business you are running. Finally received keys right as they close. Still no manager, "we are closing." Problem: they stated they forgot to replace a pin to the alternator? Great. No compensation for my wasted day, the cost of tow. Or refund for no work accomplished. Nothing. Thank you Kyle. Twice I've been in for a screw/flat tire and twice they've told me I needed a new tire (two a minimum as you can only replace tires on new cars in pairs). First time I fell for it and spent $500 on two tires. Second time they told me I needed all 4 replaced at $1100. Big O didn't even look at the screw they just saw my other tires and said they were "bald on the outside" and so I would need all 4 replaced. It should be my choice to decide this, when the wheel with the screw was easily repairable. So the second time after they told me this, I went to another tire shop, out the door in 30 minutes and for $30 got it repaired. I'll look at getting them replaced before rain comes, but in the summer they are perfectly fine. I will not be going back to Big O, this mom and pop shop now has my business. I urge everyone to go to mom and pop shops over these big corporations that all they care about is the money. read more

After this experience, I went to Le Schwab over the hill. I asked them to diagnose my tire issue. The technician took the time to explain to me the various ways that tire wear presents, driver error on tires presents, and he very clearly explained the only way the split occurred on this spot of the tire is from a defective seal. When I originally went to Big O Tires, the front desk person did not even look at my tire in person. He just looked at my account on the computer and told me it was because my tires were "done." The owner is a really a disappointment. An incident happened where one of the employees let a tire roll towards my vehicle and it hit it. The manager is great and I went to go let him know so that he could try to tell his employees to be a little bit more careful, and the owner decided to butt into our conversation with really rude commentary, making my experience really terrible. The following day I got a call; apology from the manager who again is amazing. he basically had to apologize for the owners behalf which is quite sad. i'm grateful there is no damage to my vehicle call again. Turns out I wasn't rotating my tires during the pandemic. Front tire wear was pretty bad and I needed new tires all the way around. I apologize for forgetting the Sales Person's name but they came through big time. It was the Thursday before the Fourth of July weekend and Big O had what I needed.
