It was a very busy time of day for them and they initially told me it would take 3 to 4 hours before they could get to my car and do a quick repair on my tire. We bought a road hazard and alignment warranty that requires regular rotation, and they say rotation is free. Tire rotations are done on a first-come, first-served basis. However, two times, my wife went in and was the first to arrive at 7am, but they made her wait over four hours to have her tires rotated, because we weren't paying them any money those days. Avoid Will Works in Santa Cruz - Totally Unprofessional and Dishonest I had a scheduled 10:00 a.m. appointment at Will Works in Santa Cruz for a lifetime four-wheel alignment that I had already paid for. I showed up early around 9:30 a.m., and the gentleman there told me it was fine and that the service would take about an hour and a half. So we walked downtown, got a coffee, and came back after the full hour and a half had passed--only to find that my car hadn't even been touched. I went inside and asked why they hadn't started, and the guy tells me they can't rotate the tires. I said, "I didn't come in for a tire rotation--I paid for a four-wheel alignment." He just shrugged it off. I told him I wanted to leave, and asked for my key--then he handed me the key to someone else's car. I told him again this was a complete waste of my time, and his response was simply, "No problem." The entire place was disorganized. The office was a mess, no one seemed to know what was going on, and they clearly don't care about customer service or honoring the services they sell. And just to be clear--I purchased a lifetime four-wheel alignment. Under California Civil Code § 1770, it's illegal for a business to misrepresent services or fail to honor their end of a contract. Selling a lifetime alignment and then refusing to provide it, without cause, may violate California's consumer protection laws and is a potential breach of contract. I will be reporting this to the California Bureau of Automotive Repair and considering other actions if they continue to refuse the service I paid for. Save yourself the time, frustration, and disrespect--do not go to Will Works in Santa Cruz . read more

Patrick and his workers really did a fantastic job. They had lots of availability and they were very friendly and knowledgeable. They were able to swap my OEM wheels with a different set that I bought used. They were also able to swap my TPMS sensors out of my old wheels and into the new wheels. The full cost was $183, which was far lower than their competitors' estimates. I will definitely be returning for any future needs! read more

Patrick and the gang did a very good job cleaning our fuel injector and replacing the brake fluid, but they also told me several times, I had to replace our cabin and engine filters and that I did myself. Only to find the engine filter still had between 15,000 and 20,000 life left and the cabin filter was almost new. Extremely disappointed with that part. read more

In my 7 years of using Firestone/Wheelworks, from coast to coast, I've never encountered a team where each individual went so far above and beyond to help get me back on the road safely! I came in with serious damage to both right tires and irreparable damage to my rims, so James recommended a pick-a-part shop to get some replacement rims instead of buying new ones. Brilliant suggestion that saved me $$ After returning with the rims, Jovani got to work, making my car road ready again. He went into elaborate detail when showing me the damage to my car and how I could go about fixing what could not be addressed in their shop (body work stuff). The best part was, for all the time and work done to my car, my cost was below $100 to get me driving again, which I would have guaranteed was impossible if you'd have asked me right after the accident. I am still in shock that they managed to patch up my boo boo as well as they did for that price! In all seriousness, I can not thank the team at Santa Cruz Wheelworks enough for taking a genuine interest in helping me gwt back on the road. Patrick, the GM, has put together an incredible team! Last Saturday I was walking on West Cliff and when I came back to my car we noticed a big lag bolt enbedded in my front left tire. I very slowly drove to Wheel Works on Front street. Patrick helped me immediately and within an hour everything was fixed. On top of that when I went to pay, Patrick said such a repair is free of charge. While driving on the 101 to Salinas our car hit a nasty pothole at 8:30pm near Salinas. I drop off the car 8:40am for oils change. By 12pm they still haven't started yet. When finally it's done, they wouldn't match the discounted price for the wheel works credit card for oil change. And worst thing happened, when I got into my car to go home, car had issue with driving and couldn't drive, so when I went back to asked what happened, they said it's not their issue. And then said they have other cars and don't have time to fix it today. What a bad experience. How can a drivable car not drivable after oil change? And wheel works not take responsibility to fix it. I had a nail in one of my tires, so made an online appointment for this location. When I arrived, they could not find my reservation in the system, and I was told that this was because they do not accept same-day reservations. This was not noted anywhere on their website. I was told that they would take a look at my car, but it might be a while since they would not be able to honor my reservation. This despite the fact that there were no cars being worked on in any of the bays and there were 4-5 employees just sitting around the garage area not doing anything. After about five minutes, they did begin looking at my car. I was told that the nail had a "double entry" on the tire, and as such, they would be unable to repair it, and since they did not have any tires of that size in stock, they recommended another place in town to visit to replace the tire. This was the only positive of the entire experience. The new store that I visited had no issue repairing the tire with the nail, doing so in less than an hour, and saving me hundreds of dollars. read more

Their Days Are Numbered With the experience I had this am, they need to just close. I stopped in to get my car tires rotated and balanced. I'm told 45 minutes. 55 mins later I go to the counter and my car is done. Or so I thought. I am then told that they couldn't do the tire rotation or the balancing due to them being afraid they would break the plastic caps on my lug nuts (He shows me one that was broken by them). I tell him I understand and I would have been ok with them breaking as they may cost $.50 or less, not an option. I take my car and drive two exits and immediately race back to tell him that the steering wheel is not aligned. It's like 2 mm to the right. I wait my turn in line only to be told I would be at the end of the line and my car "might" be ready in 90 minutes due to two cars being ahead of me with appointments. I explain to him that I too had an appointment, but they didn't do the job correctly and that is why I immediately came back. Only to be told, "Did you not hear me say there are two customers ahead of you". Yes, I heard you loud and clear. There are too many choices in this town to deal with that type of customer service. I won't be back. I hate to see the obvious, but soon you will be closed and an 8 story building will go up in your place. read more

I needed to get my back brakes serviced. I dropped off my car and waited for them to call when the initial inspection was done. Just like I thought, my brakes and roters needed replacing. The price that I was quoted over the phone was $196. I made sure to ask if that was including labor. I was shocked and angry when I came to pick up my car and they charged me $411!!! I know for a fact that to buy 4 rotters and pads for my car is around 100-140$. So why did I get charged 224.62 for parts worth $100 less! That is crazy. And if that's what was going to be the price, I should have been told that over the phone when I asked. As a business they should have been upfront and honest with me. When I signed for the payment, a box came up that made me acknowledge that this is how they do business. The box said "I acknowledged that I am paying more then I was quoted" or something along those lines. If that's built into their payment device, they must do that to many people and not just me. I am 20 years old. If you quote me $200 I am expecting to pay that. So when I come to your store and I am charged double that, in the middle of a pandemic when funds are tight for everyone, it makes it clear that they do not value their customers and they do not value that I am paying them my hard earned money to do an honest job. Not to rip me off. Of course I payed the $411 anyways because the job was done so what could I do. It's not like I could just refuse to pay it because they had already competed the work. But had I known it was going to cost so much I would have taken my business elsewhere because that is way way to much. I know this because i put in a lot of research about the cost and considered waiting to take the car to my grandfather who is a mechanic but because he lives very far I decided to give them a shot. The cost to buy 4 roters and 4 brake pads as a set for my car from auto zone was $126. So why did they charge me $100 more then that? And also their labor rate appears to be $160 an hour. I used to drive a BMW and when I would take it to BMW to get serviced they didn't even have labor rates that high and that's at a luxury car mechanic. It was a bad choice to not wait it out and take the car to my grandfather so that is on me, but I will not be a returning customer. This is not the way you treat a customer. You do not misquote them by half and then make them sign a waiver when they pay saying that "i acknowledge that you are charging me more then I was told" to try and make it okay. I strongly recommend that if you do plan on going here for some reason that you make them tell you very clearly what the final price will be because I did not get a happy surprise when I picked up my car today. See attached photo for how they WAY overpriced the parts and labor. Side note: they did do a very good job fixing the brakes. They were dangerously worn down so it needed to be handled quickly and they did get it done fast. However the maintenance light for the brakes is still on so we will have to see if it's a lasting fix but at a first glance it appears to be fixed properly. My main concern was then overcharging me and not being honest over the phone about the price. But they did indeed do a job well done on the service itself. read more

This shop is AWESOME. We came in with a flat on an exotic car with a hard to find tire on a Saturday when most places were closed. Nobody could get tires for us until Monday morning so we figured why not leave the car with wheel Works and let them get it Monday morning. They rushed the order, got the tire in super early, and knew that we were trying to get on the road. They killed it. Great job. I have been a very long customer of Wheel Works since my high school years. I have recomended friends, family and co-workers. But I have let the rest of you know how disappointed I am with Wheel Works. My young daughter at USCS took a tire to be fix and was told by Mr. JOHN that the wheel/rim was damaged, with the recommendations on buying a new set of wheels, my daughter was stressing to buy a new set of rims when the only issue was a damaged tire. Shame on you John, trying to take advantage of a young lady, I just hope Wheel Works is not promoting this type of behavior. Not happy at all and I just hope service workers would try to help the ladies rather than taking advantage just because they are women. read more

I so appreciate it! I always bring my car here when I need a service because it's convenient to my house and the mechanics are friendly. I have never waited long to get my car back. The last issue I had was a horrible noise coming from my AC and it turned out to be under warranty, so a repair I anticipated to be quite costly ended up being less than $40 for labor. I called wheelworks yesterday at 3:36 pm to (831) 7069804. I had the webpage up and tires chosen for my vehicle. MY quote says and the person on the phone confirmed: (4) firestone Destination LE3 at $237.99 each, plus installation fee of $111.40, and Tax of $92.17 for a total of $1155.53. The cost also included the following "FREE" : tire mounting, tire/wheel alignment check, lifetime free rotation, contact free experience. They made me an appointment for 9:00 am today 6/01/2022. When I got there, not only did they say the quoted cost was wrong, but that they also did not have the tires, and they could not even order them!!!??? I asked why they would give me a quote and book me an appointment if they did not have those tires, and no answer was given. They went on to quote me a whopping $1802.00 for a continental tire, and $1512.47 for a Hankook! This really feels like a Bait and Switch. We have been long standing customers of Wheelworks both in Campbell and in Santa Cruz where we now live. I cant believe they did this.
