Don't ever take your car here very unprofessional and made the problems on my truck worse and never rectified the situation

We came into town at 3pm, friday before Easter weekend. Our car that was making horrible noises from the brakes . We knew we were only in town for the weekend and then it was back to CA. I called Big O and he told me they were booked up and closed for the weekend but go ahead and bring the car in so he could look at it. We brought it in and by 5pm they had replaced all the brake pads and only charged us the price of parts and minimal labor. I couldn't be happier with this business. In fact, I'm sending my husband back 690 miles away to get the oil changed there next week. read more

For decades I have avoided Big-O because a certain shop raked me over the coals. But serendipity brought me to this store, and they are amazing. My front end on my RV broke down in the Gila Wilderness. I was able to drive down into Silver City and park it in the Big-O lot on a Friday. They were so busy that they could not schedule me till Monday morning. It was the same with all the other shops in town, or even later. They were kind enough to let me camp in their huge parking lot. Long story short, the upper passenger control arm was chewed up by the ball joint and no new replacements were available anywhere. Ted the head Sales person found a used one, and it was delivered by the end of Monday. Tuesday afternoon I was back on the road thanks to Bill the talented front end mechanic. I was charged a very fair price of $400, when they too could have easily raked me over the coals. Since I had to hangout and wait for a few days, I saw how hard they all worked, and how well they treated their customers. This place is top notch and if I lived in Silver City they would be my shop of choice. read more

Worst customer service of any tire shop. 3 times I've been in here and 3 times despite me being next in line the guy behind the counter helped someone else. First time I blew it off. 2nd time I was frustrated. 3rd and last time I'm done with that guy. Literally have 7k to spend on new tires and windshield replacement. Most lazy, inconsiderate, rude, and insincere person I've met in Silver. I'll drive 100 miles to get tires to avoid this place. read more

Long wait times. I got my CV axle, struts, and brakes done there recently. All was done badly. I had to take it elsewhere to fix everything again. They are in denial that their mechanic takes shortcuts and doesnt do jobs correctly. My brake lines were hanging out and not clipped back in. The clips were missing, rotors not resurfaced during brake installation. CV axels both put in incorrectly and broke due to that. I'm not going there again and strongly warn against getting anything done there. They are cheap for a reason. read more

I have been going to Big O in Silver for many years for tires. They now offer window repair and tinting. Ted Martinez is the Best in Silver City as far as I am concerned. I needed a new Windshield and also low tire (omg two screws). I am a senior with Complicated health problems so cracked window and flat tire.. Just sad but Ted was great he always is professional and efficient. Was getting a low-pressure notice on my tires on a rental car while visiting Silver City. We drove in and were immediately taken care of. Shane listened to out problem, then asked us to wait while he checked it out. Less than 10 minutes later, he returned -- they made sure all the tire pressures were the same, then checked on one in particular that looked awry to be sure it was okay. Everything checked out. Seems the problem was probably more in the cold morning air than in the tires themselves. We were on our way in less than 15 minutes -- and they didn't charge us. Great service. We were pulling out of the Silver City KOA when we noticed one of the tires on our 5th wheel had been wearing wrong and needed to be replaced before finishing our drive to Cali. We called Big O at 10am on a Saturday and asked them if they could assist us with putting our full size spare on. They said as long as we were there before they closed at noon they could do it. They did let us know that they had just moved locations from Hwy 180 to just off it near Ace on 32. They helped us immediately upon arrival, changed the spare, and added air to the tires that needed it. We were back on the road in 45 minutes. Thank you!!! read more

I had a great experience with these guys last week. I had taken my car to another business to have a window regulator looked at. They told me the part was $235 and that with labor and shipping it would end up costing $400. I said didn't think the pricen was quite right so I called Big O and they told me to bring the car in and they'd look at it. I showed up, the guy came right out, took my car to the shop, and came out and said yep, your regulator needs to be replaced the motor on it has gone out. He told me he had the part in stock and that it would be $135 for the part and $65 dollars for the labor. I said hey thats a lot better than what the other place was going to charge me. He told me that he could do it in a bout and hour. He also took a look at my passenger window and told me it needed to be replaced as the motor seemed to be kicking the bucket. He did that free of charge. What impressed me the most was while I was sitting there waiting, the mechanic came into the lobby and showed me the broken regulator and explained everything that was wrong with it and why it went belly up. I was very happy he took the time to do this I believe the mechanics name is Tim. I also reviewed their prices on other things and I noticed that they seemed to be fairly priced for being in a town that is kinda off the main drag.
