It's our LOCAL BigR & we try to support whenever possible. Service is typically excellent by all sales folks & managers. At times we've had issues with our main department not having anyone there to assist at night - so best to go in morning or afternoon from our experience. At the Gun & Ammo selection is limited but lately has gotten better & prices are competitive with other stores. Other items we've purchased here and love are our Solar Ballon pieces for our porch - LOVE them!! So unique & cannot find them anywhere else. I recommend going to BigR if you'd like to shop local & less crowds. read more

I tried to return a product that was still 6 months inside the warranty period and the manager refused it and said I had to go to the manufacturer. I'm deeply disappointed with how I was treated today at Big R. I purchased a horse boot after driving 20 minutes to the store. At checkout, I asked the cashier if I could exchange the boot if it didn't fit, so long as it wasn't dirty. She said yes. After returning home and finding the boot didn't fit, I measured my horse's hoof, loaded up my 9-year-old child and our puppy, and drove back less than 90 minutes later to exchange the boot. The boot was still in perfect condition -- no visible wear, the box was intact, and it was clean aside from a little dust. When I returned, a different cashier allowed me to get the correct size, but a manager named Tabitha refused to honor the exchange. She claimed the boot was "dirty" and un-sellable -- which was not true by any reasonable standard -- and threatened to have me escorted out of the store simply for calmly explaining what had happened. I told her she wasn't treating me fairly and that I would leave a review. She walked away and had another employee (an older gentleman) handle the situation. He looked at the receipt and the boot and said it was fine to exchange. I appreciate that employee's common sense and professionalism, but it was truly upsetting to be treated with such disrespect by a manager -- especially in front of my child. I hope Big R takes customer service more seriously in the future and trains its managers to support, not shame, customers who are simply asking for a fair resolution. read more

Bought a 3 x 3 bale of grass hay. When I brought it home, it looked like it was a bottom bale, and it looked like it had gotten wet. Also, looks like it has a lot of clover in it. I called and asked them if they guarantee their hay and they said unfortunately not. I will never shop at this store again or buy hay from them! Will also write review on Nextdoor. If the customer is not satisfied with the quality of a product, then the management should do something to make it right! Also, I was told to put the hay out in the sun so that it could dry since part of the bale was wet. Wow! Really??? They also damaged my tonneau cover rail bars when loading the hay! read more

I am blown away by the lack of service at this location. I placed an online order for a single item that they needed to break down outside. When I got there, it wasn't broke down and two employees were attempting it. I waited for 1.5 hrs while said employees would walk off repeatedly when the store then tried to up the price by $500! I proved it was the item I purchased but Caleb insisted I buy it for $799! Ummm, no thank you. Lost my business forever- oh, and they still didn't have it broken down in 1.5 hrs. I understand it is hard to find help everywhere right now but to have a teenager trying to load cattle panels by himself on my truck was not a good idea in how you can impress a customer. I told him to call for help with his radio and here it came another young fella... it was a very long definitely too long wait to get 6 cattle panels on my truck specially in a cold windy day. Pros- Great gun department unlike 'Dicks' or Wallmart who caved to the PC correct army. Good tools section, and feed and supplies as well as hardware. Cons- I bought two high dollar chain saws there, the small one works fine, the largest one they had never ran through a tank of fuel without fouling a spark plug. In Colorado small engines MUST be setup for high elevation operation. Even though I purchased the case of premix Skill oil which extended the engine warranty, I was charged $60.00 to have Big-R send it to their service center to have it setup as it should have been when purchased. read more

First time visiting a Big R store. Called and spoke with Ed, who said they had a live coyote cage trap on the shelf. I asked what size, and he said "don't have the time to check, but it's big enough for a coyote." I decided to take him on his word and drove all the way out from Denver to find out they only had raccoon and fox sizes. Decided to buy anyway to give it a try and avoid making the trip a total waste. Drove all the way back home, unpacked the cage, and properly Yelped obscenities to no one in particular when I realized the cage inside the box was crushed and beyond repair. Now, I'm driving all the way back out there to return it, and all the way back home because they don't have any others in stock. I know they won't reimburse me for my gas or time, so I'm hoping that by leaving this review it will make a difference. read more

After the initial excitement of walking into this potentially cool ranch store it became obvious it was, well-- not that exciting. Almost 2.75 stars, really - short of three. There were no good sales racks of western-y clothing and nothing too exciting in the horse tack area. They did not have the horse pro-biotic i needed in stock which was kind of a bummer. They did have an extensive selection of ironic-farmer baseball hats and John Deere paraphernalia. Didn't get into sporting goods but i think they had guns and ammo for sale in case you need to stock up - not sure where else you could get it down there - probably have to drive to Castle Rock. They had free popcorn in the corner of the store, which had already been served up in fun little baggies - keeping random customer's grubby hands from going into the main popcorn supply germing it up. Good call. Customer service was friendly but slow. They may have been short handed given it was Sunday and Mother's Day. All-in-all - not worth stopping in for 'fun curiosity shopping' - go there if you really need farm & garden or hunting stuff. read more

Price marked on item is not what they charge you. There was a big yellow price sticker on a door mat that said $19.99, but it rang up $21.99. When we pointed this out to the cashier he just said those are old prices and that $21.99 was the real price-take it or leave it! So be forewarned that they do not honor the marked price on their merchandise. read more

It's a chain. I understand. But this was the only place I could find on a Sunday that had Argon/CO2 mix for my mig welder. And they have fencing supplies, carhart clothing, muck boots and cowboy hats. I like it better than some of the other chains (in Sedalia no less) but a mom and pop is always prefered. The staff can be helpful or indiferent. I've had both but hey, they've got shredded beet pulp in 50 lb bags and that makes the wife happy. Which makes me happy. read more

Until today I was a Big R customer since they opened in Elizabet - not anymore. Waited over 45 minutes just o get a propane tank filled while 2-3 people went up to the yard and no body took care of it even after the cashier called them about 5 times. Was planning the MULLAN MILE 50 Cal Shooting Event for my cousin's and friends in SPOKANE, WA, the third week in June. Decided to ship 100 rounds of 50 cal ammo to my cousin, instead of dealing with any authorities on the way. As you know only FFL dealers can ship ammo, so the post office and Elizabeth Business Center were not able to help me. Went to BIG-R in Elizabeth. They were great - gave them a box that was over 50 pounds. They shipped the ammo by UPS, gave me the tracking number, and my cousin received it in 3-days. read more

We had our other items and just needed the gate. He looked in computer and said sorry we are out of stock. Will take 8 weeks to get. Yes but I just saw two in the yard. After doing most of my Christmas shopping for several years here....I have since amended my opinion of Big R of Elizabeth. I have had several "discussions" with the people in charge of ordering and stocking feed, including the manager of the store. I decided to cut my losses and shop @ Mom & Pop stores. In desparation, I needed feed today, and well, today sealed the deal for me. I called to see if they had the feed I needed in stock. The feed desk said "We sure do...we have 22 bags." So I swing by, go to the check out stand and order the feed I need. The cashier also confirmed 22 bags of the type of feed I needed on hand. When I got to the load out, they couldn't find the feed I bought....They said it was inside. They went in to get it.....guess what....NO FEED. How? How can their computerized inventory system be off, not by 2 or 3 bags, but 22 bags of feed? How are they even in business. I say, AVOID THIS PLACE. I have decided to use Elizabeth Feed or Murdoch's in Parker I WILL NOT BE BACK! read more
